  1. I'm sorry Tooz but that doesn't happen, I've been playing and making battles and modding this game for over a year now and never once, have I ever seen that happen. It's not really so much of sharing the same bmps, then the fact being that the game engine uses the same guns for both sides. Do you actually have the bmps installed in the bmp folder, or are you using cmmos to manage the bmp visuals. From what I understand is that the newer versions of cmmos don't actually put anything in the bmp folder, at any point in time. And this could explain that strange behaviour, that boths sides conflicting with loading the winter look at the same time. I would suggest you rework that cmmos gun pack to non-cmmos form and drop those renamed bmps into the BMP folder, that should fix the problem, once and for all. I'm not sure what your asking J2D.
  2. This is a screen shot of those guns after I install gordens german grey guns in non-cmmos form into a fresh bmp folder. So you need to track down why the game engine won't load the soviet winter version of those guns. I don't know what else to tell ya.
  3. [ There is two seasonal looks for those shared bmp sets and for some reason one side can show both seasons while the other keeps getting defaulted to just the same seasonal look all the time, which in this case is always summer. As stated above I installed everything in non mod manager form and all is right. The only difference I know of between Tooz and my setup, is the cmmos mod manager.
  4. As I stated over to TPG's, is that the mod manager must be preventing the soviet side to load the winter sets for those guns. I can't see any other reason.
  5. I just did a quick test to refersh my memory, I took a fresh bmp folder and I reworked the bmp numbers from gordens WW german grau cmmos gun pack into non-cmmos form, then copied the renamed bmps into the new bmp folder, all those guns are there in a whitewash for the germans in dunkelgrau and for the soviet variants for the entire war. The bmps for those guns are shared so they use the very same number set for both, so if those guns are showing up as say, whitewashed for one side then they have to show up for the other side also. Because it's the very same gun, using the very same bmp number set.
  6. Tooz those guns actually use the german dunkelgrau bmps, meaning the bmps are shared and based on similar german variants. The Mountain gun uses the german grau infantry gun bmps. The 85mm and 76mm AA gun uses the german grau 88mm AA gun bmps. The 25mm AA gun uses the german 20 mm AA gun bmps. The same for the 37mm AA gun. As far as the missing german stuff, as far as I know there isn't a winter version of that 20 mm ATG anywhere. And the late brummbar, this is a real bitch to try and whitewash, but that doesn't mean that there will never be a WW version someday. If you downloaded gordens cmmos gelb stuff there should have been a WW version of all the 88ATG plus the 105rcl and also the mark3m. Also note that in cmbb those numbers in the hundred thousand range include a mixture of early, mid and late war stuff in dunkelgelb base coat, it's not just late war stuff. (copied and pasted from reply made at TPG)
  7. Also be prepared to spend hours cleaning up the overspray he did into the transparency area down around the track area. Unless ya like the pretty pink colors in the game.
  8. Here is a suggestion for people who have the hard drive space to spare. It is a way to have a backup copy of the original artwork and sound for cmbb. 1). Drag a copy of your cmbb folder to the desktop, verify everthing copied over. 2). Reinstall cmbb. 3). Go into the reinstalled cmbb folder and rename the BMP folder to say something like orgBMP, and do the same with the WAV folder, so these won't be overwritten when you copy back the older versions you copied out to the desktop. Also if you want a backup of the scenario folder, you could do the same. 4). Move the BMP, WAV, SCENARIO folders and if you have anything in say the PBEM, SAVED GAMES, QUICK BATTLE MAPS, etc back into the new reinstalled cmbb folder that now resides in the Program Files folder, also you will want to move over your older Combat Mission BB Prefs file. As stated move all this back into your new reinstalled cmbb folder, this will put your game back to the state it was in before you reinstalled plus you will now have a backup of the original artwork, sound and the orginal scenarios if you renamed that folder also before you moved back your older one. Then you can delete whats left of the cmbb folder you copied out to the desktop earlier.
  9. Does anybody know if there is a modded wav for the rain sound effect, though it's offical term by battlefront is likely the thunderstorm sound effect. I'm looking for just the rain sound and I guess the battle background sounds, BUT what I don't want is the thunder sound. So what I'm asking is if there is a 00005001.wav around without the thunder sound in it. That thunder noise really gets on my nerves after awhile and I'd also like to have rain weather in some of my winter battles. What happened to the sound modders, they all seemed to have disappeared.
  10. I think the review system that is in place is fine, if people want to post a review then they do so, if not, thats fine also. Everybody has a different idea of what or how a battle should play out like. If you only download a battle because of a review then I would call that stupid. If I'm made to review a battle before I can download other battles then I won't be around that site anymore. As far as I'm concerned, what needs a major overhaul at SD is in the author administration area, this as it is, is a nightmare. As it is right now I'm not even going to attempt to upload anymore battles, or update the ones I have there, for that matter either. I only hope that the things keith has said would be done in that area, well be done, because that to me needs immediate attention. Those things are the ability to overwrite previous battles, able to delete previous battles. able to change data fields in the scenario data page without having to upload the battle again. I hope your job prospects have worked out well for you Keith.
  11. It seems to me, from playing the game and making scenarios for over a year now, that all units follow the same coded algorithm, which is to seek and move through cover whenever possible. Even AFV's will cower in large open spaces.
  12. Hi Panther Commander, You will need the early Dunkelgelb (Yellow) for that period in time. Gorden Molek has done a very good one, but it is in those big cmmos packages that has been posted. If you can't find one I could try and track it down and post it over to the database in non cmmos form.
  13. Actually it's ALT-\ to switch around from one side to the other in the editor. And the computer player will almost always drive through the scattered tree siding of a road tile,it's by design as far as I can tell, is it a bug???, I don't know, but I know I don't like this behaviour.
  14. Hi andy, glad to see ya modding some hardware again, these where long overdue and very much appreciated. Have you considered winter versions.
  15. Great stuff, glad to see ya doing some winter stuff again mikey.
  16. HI all, Keith in case you wonder by here again I sent you an email about a 9 or 10 days ago in regards to my battle DEY-The King Has Arrived, I tried to update this scenario, now the download for the battle is broken. I renamed the battle to DEY-The King Has Arrived_V3. If you get a chance could you fix the download link for me. I've already had one direct request made because of the broken link. I hope your employment situation is looking positive.
  17. HI Mord If your talking about the one I think your speaking of, I don't think there is much that can be done there. I beleive your referring to that russian branded cmbo churchill, unfortunately it won't fit properly in cmbb, even with major reworking of the bmp skins. I give a try at converting gordens whitewashed one and it was a nasty time and there is still a graphic giltch on the side bmp that would be just to much work to fix.
  18. I've never ever had a friendly fire problem with aircraft in BB as long as the pilots were at least vet exp. The most amazing thing I had ever seen in either in BB was what must have been a friendly fire mistake by russian aircraft in the "BORISOVKA STATION" scenerio. It was getting towards the end of the game and I was getting the crap kicked outa me playing the germans. All my guns were knocked out and the russians still had most of it's infantry and about 4 or 5 t34's. the T34's had moved over onto the east side of the map and drove into the village in front of those two wharehouses with the big map. Two was on the road driving towards the church and the rest where sitting on the road or in and around the little houses. Mostly all of the remaining russian infantry also moved into this same area. I figured my goose was cooked, then all of a sudden there was a screaming roar and what seemed like about 10 huge explosions running in long line up the road, I was setting right there at ground level when it happen. It blew the heck outa about 6 of the little houses and knockout all of the remaning russian tanks and killied almost all of the russian infantry. I loaded up the battle in the scenerio in the editor and the only plane that could have done that was the russian PE-2FT dive bomber. That was the coolest thing I've ever seen happen in the thus far. By the way the russian piliot exp is regular
  19. Hi Zaf, thanks for the compliment it is appreciated. I don't have my own web site, anything I make I post to cmmods. Take it cool.
  20. Your doing very impressive stuff with the color blending vossie. What graphic software are ya using. Keep up the good work.
  21. Yo MikeyD, Since ya been in this thread off and on, I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the hard work and effort you have given to the cm community. We are very fortunate to have someone with your talent who's willing to participate and give as much as you do.
  22. Hi Tooz, how goes the battle,(pun intended). I'm still using that photoline 32 graphic software that I've been using all this time, the painting aspects of this software are quite lacking. I just happened on a different method from trying to whitewash the romanian R1 tankette. I 've used all the shareware out there and they are all timed out now. I can get paint shop pro in my area but it's about 250 bucks, and I just can't afford that right now. But on the plus side for now anyway, I'll be able to blame my amateur work on the graphic software.
  23. Yo junk2drive, I hear ya, thats the reason way I started modding anyway, for myself. I had my bb cd blowup in my cd drive last winter, so I had to go back to bo while waiting for a replacement disc and thats when I started all this converting, but still can't do anything about the gameplay though. Hey Nick, you do know that you already have a slew of mods installed with your SE cmbo. Look in your cmbo folder for a MODS folder, I think these are all in non-cmmos form. I don't know where this recommended come from but I do know the only way your going to know anything about any mod is to look it over in the game yourself.
  24. Hey Nick, I am sorry for sorta hijacking your thread there. I agree with mike's suggestion to sign up with cmmods. Rest assured that tod respects our privacy and doesn't sell any info to spammers. You will find many mods there in cmmos and non-cmmos format. I don't use a mod manager myself but to each their own. I would suggest one of the first things you do is to make a copy of your bmp folder and rename it to something that will tell you its the original artwork for a backup.
  25. Hi again mike, I know exactly where your coming from, I was doing that computer tech stuff for several years myself. I had to give it up, it just sucked the life right outa me and made me sick and burnt out. Anytime ya can update those mods, do so at your convenience. Though I don't even know if anybody is using any of my cmbo mods anyway. I haven't had one word of input from the cmbo players. I don't envy the thought of doing over all those hundreds of bb mods in cmmos format, Ouch!.
