  1. 40 Commando is part of the 3rd Brigade. I looked back into why I choose them. They had just returned from Afghanistan in April 2008. 42 Commando was in Afghanistan. 45 Commando was also available but since they are based in Scotland I chose 40 Commando.
  2. Bardosy, sorry but the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment ceased to exist in January 2007. It merged with the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment to form a new Regiment: The Rifles. May I suggest as an alternative the 5th battallion Rifles Regiment, part of the 20th Armoured Brigade based in Germany? It would not be unlikely for this battallion to ship down on the train along with most of the other NATO forces into Turkey. There is a rail ferry in Istanbul by the way.
  3. Task Force Narwick. I'm in the middle of it. Having a great time.

  6. I wish I could claim I researched the the deployment of every unit in 2008 but I did not, though I did with some, but I did take the War in Afghanistan and the troop surge in Iraq into account. Another thing I considered is the logistics of supplying all the invasion troops. The supply lines will be pretty long especially once the war starts and everything will have to be trucked across Syria eventually to the Damascus area. This led me to being on the conservative side in selecting the Coalition forces. I've since made a few additions mainly attack helicopters and artillery that I will post, but thanks for the feedback. I am happy to consider any changes.
  7. I also recall a debate about the Stryker manufacturer wanting royalties from scale model manufacturers. There was some question if they would try the same with in game images.
  8. Or if it could be posted at Green as Jade's site.
  9. M1 is the mod project set in 2008 as well?
  10. Does anyone have info on the organization of the Syrian divisions, namely how many brigades each type has? Thanks
  11. Thanks for your answer. Sure the Apache is nicer but if all the Germans have are Bo 105s I'd at least like to see it as an option especially as the Dutch only have 30 Apaches in their entire military. And TOW missiles can come in very handy even if there is no mini gun. Oh well I guess I'll have to live with it and pretend th Apaches are US as that would be more likely.
  12. I'm not positive if the Syrian's even had their SU-24s and MiG 29s in 2008 as they don't have very many now, but I was hoping some one would know. I'm not positive the German Typhhoon squadrons were operational yet. There's nothing I could find to confirm either on the web. Again I'm happy for any Red Air. I agree B-1's B-2's and B-52's shouldn't be in the game nor should German F-4's. But thanks for the opportunity to once again pitch my pet project: The German Bo 105!
  13. Bad bad boy! Now get back to work on those full color NATO Icons!
  14. First off I want to say I am happy we got ANY Red air assets. I agree the Syrian Air Force would be unable able to fly any Air Support sorties that actually reach the target area. It's great to have them though for Red vs Red. That said I believe the Syrians already had some MiG 29 and Su 24 in squadrons in 2008. Wasn't it we got Red Air because the work was already done for Afghanistan and the Afghanistan game doesn't have MiG 29s or SU 24s? That would be a fair enough answer for me. Likewise however I believe the Germans already had some Typhoon squadrons in 2008. Since we already have Typhoons for the UK, it seemes it would be easy to add them for the Germans even if they had only one squadron. I agree it would be unlikely for the Germans to send their F-4 squadrons into the war. Finally however let me make my Bo 105 pitch again. I would rather see German Bo 105s than German Typhoons as that seems even more likely.
  15. Really Nice Work. I don't think the Koreans have anything that isn't in Shock Force already. I really am at a lost to predict if CMSF II will be in Europe or Korea with Chinese intervention which would be more likely than NATO interveing in Georgia or Ukraine.
  16. I don't recall any 101st Division units in any campaigns and they aren't on the map. I compromised with the 1st infantry and the 82nd airborne as Task Force Panther brings in the entire division along with the 2nd Cav regiment into Turkey. They weren't on the map but both the Panther and Narwick campaigns require something from them. The Commonwealth Desert Force is my creation. I felt it was justified rather than adding them to the 1st Cav which would then become too large.

  18. Fair enough, but this leads me to think what the Germans would really do for the 10th Panzer which has no organic artillery of it's own. Would they pull over both PzH 2000 battalions from the 1st Panzer or would they pull out some reserve M109's which were retired even more recently than the Canadian ones? It seems the designers decided on the former.
  19. Correction: According to Wikipedia the Canadian's phased out the M109 self propelled howitzed in 2005. Can any one verify this?
  20. Wow what a really great project sdp has made! How have I missed this up to now? I will send him a note. It would be interesting to compare Orders of Battle but obviously he needs to keep his confidential for the Mega Campaign.
  21. The semi-official word is that while they would be interesting, Battlefront wants to move on. We may get the French in the third Normandy module or CMSF II .
  22. I'm afraid I don't understand. I don't know who sdp is and what is a MC? Marine Campaign? I was hoping to do an even more detailed version.
  23. I did check the other scenarios with the Dutch the other night, and every other scenario with air support has F-16s. It's only in the campaign they made this mistake (and in the editor too of course). I'm hoping they will make us a trade and remove the Dutch Tornadoes from the game (replacing them with F-16s in the campaign) and give us German Bo 105 attack helos instead.
  24. This is an apparent bug that's been noted as the Dutch airforce has no Tornadoes. Just pretend they are Germans lending the Dutch some support.
