  1. The idea is to have this ready for when CMMODs comes back up. I intend to post it as an Ubermod. Mod will include high res skies, all NW European buildings, snow, grass, wire fences, roads, uniforms, vehicles, all numbered for CMAK, everything needed to make CMAK into CMETO. My recommendation would be to reinstall CMAK into your hard drive renaming it CMETO. This will allow you to have all three Theaters (North Africa, Italy and NWE) with a distinctive look. Transfer all your NWE scenarios over to CMETO. I will leave it to someone else to pursue Tom's Greece Ubermod. DavidI
  2. Gurra, Thanks, I appreciate the offer. DavidI
  3. Well here is a picture of my ongoing CMETO. Kinda picking up where TomCHQ left off more than a year ago. Anyone interested? DavidI
  4. Gurra, When COMMODs comes back up I am going to release a CMETO ubermod. It's a follow up on TomCHQ's "Beyond the Seigfried Line" idea. When I get home I'll post a screenie. It will include buildings, terrain, uniforms, your tanks, etc. It will definately have a NWE feel. DavidI
  5. Gurra, Don't go to sleep on us now! Keep churning out your bitchin camo jobs on the PSW's, etc. They look perfect in my Normandy/NWE game. I wish you would do all the late model vehicles in a similar pattern. David I
  6. Mikie, Don't forget the "Attack of the Space Lobsters". Wasn't there even a screen shot? I have money on that one! DavidI
  7. So long Sir John, I will never forget his role in "Tunes of Glory". At 97 though, he had a good run. DavidI [ April 24, 2005, 10:11 AM: Message edited by: David I ]
  8. Zimorodok, Dey does great work! His mods grace all of my winter battlefields. Thank you for taking up some of the slack while CMMOD's is down. DavidI [ April 22, 2005, 09:29 AM: Message edited by: David I ]
  9. There was a real good discussion about Bocage/hedgerows and how best to represent them in the game with what we've got to work with a while back. (I believe Dalem was a major contributer). Do a search for "Bocage". DavidI
  10. Junk, I set up a CMETO Game in my computer last night, transfered all my late war CMAK bmps over (I have been making them look more ETO over the last year) and put in the high res skys from CMBB (I hadn't put them in CMAK because I didn't want to lose the mountains). I down loaded Gurra's new mods (they have a more ETO look to them IMHO) and already the look/feel of the game is different. Since CMMODs is still down I went back to CMAK and "re-Italianized" my German late war troops. When CMMODs comes back up I can now use many of AndrewTF's (the Great & Powerfull) uniform mods (reed green German and light colored British Kakhi) that I had been loath to use to date. If you have any "you gotta have this mod" ideas for ETO please drop me a line (perhaps some CMBO renumbered terrain/building mod ideas?). Gurra, Keep up the good work! I love the options you included (with a little work, none of PSW 251's looks exactly like the other). All of your recent mods have a great ETO look to them. Keep'm coming! DavidI
  11. Gurra, Now you've done it. Now you've got the rest of the PSW251 series and the PSW250 series, and the Stugs to do! Maybe tackle Panthers? I'm actually thinking about installing CMAK into my computer again and rename it CMETO and setting it up with all the late war stuff, get the terrain and building mods to make it look more like France/Germany '44/'45. Then I would play all the ETO scenarios on that. I think I'll do just that, by Golly. DavidI
  12. Dey, Another couple of beauties! They'll be mine as soon as I get home! David
  13. Gurra, Wow beautiful stuff! Of course I am at work and cannot have right now. The vast Modder's conspiracy continues unabated! I am saddened that you have joined ranks with Mikey D and Andrew TF (the Great and Powerful) to make my workday even longer than it already is. I swear that second hand on the clock has not moved since I started this message! Nope, there, it moved one tick. DavidI
  14. Nice research! Try 3,000 tanks at 40,000 meters! Doesn't matter. Moot point. No further patches are forth coming. However you may want to explore how many Hell's Angels can **** on the head of a Pimp. DavidI
  15. Der Kuenstler, If ther are just a few turns to go I think it's good form to play through. Someday it may be you that's just about to kick someone's ass just to have them up and quit. However if you are on the attack, all your tanks are smoking hulks and the only infantry you have left is an artillery spotter with no ammo, you might point this out to your opponent and suggest a ceasefire. Ceasefires are always better for both players because the game ends "as is". This allows both to see what the real situation was at end game. Surrender causes all the surrendering infantry to surrender and all tanks to be abandoned. DavidI
  16. http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=827455 Check this site out. Great photos with wonderful dialog by the photographer. DavidI
  17. MikeyD, What an excellent idea! DavidI
  18. Bump, Playing with my newfound ability to post screenies. DavidI
  19. Wow. The stuff you get to read on this forum. DavidI
  20. Sturmowik, The armbands showing up on both arms is a function of shared BMP's. The left and right arms of Partisans have the same BMP. Alas. Every chance I get I bug BFC about not having shared BMPs in CMX2 (can you hear me Moon?). I also toyed around with putting captured German tanks back into German cammo, strip off the German Markings and hanging Red and White Polish banners on them. DavidI
  21. Phillippe, Take a look at that Warsaw Uprising Website, Waffen SS smocks were the Uniform d'juer of the Polish Home Army. They captured a wharehouse full of them on day one. They wore them to the point that the Waffen SS stopped wearing theirs to avoid friendly fire. Unit recognition in close fighting is very important. Same reason the Germans went from drum magazines on their captured PPSH's to stick magazines (to the point of making their own sticks for captured weapons). I made the officers in non-smocks and very different uniforms from each other. As to the hats - German helmets with red/white bands would have been better but I think the German side caps are OK. On the Warsaw website German Helmets and MP-43 were standard in the PHA. BTW thank you ever so much for teaching me how to post pictures. DavidI
  22. Sturmowik, That map is almost perfect. Is the scale true? 1mm = 10meters? If I can figure out how to print it will I be able to scale it off. All the other attempts at making Warsaw maps seemed to me to be wild guesses (see scenarios at Scenario Depot for CMBB and CMBO). What I had invisioned was a series of fairly small scenarios showing initially the Polish attempts to assault and grab the Post Office, Telephone exchange, Power Plant, etc. Then scenarios depicting the initial German Reaction. Then scenarios depicting the End Game. DavidI
