HarryInk, There's not much out there right now except HPS's games which leave alot to be desired. However you may want to check out "www.doubleshotdesign.com" they are doing a Napoleonic tactical game called Battles of Napoleon" for Matrix Games. 100 yard hexes, 10min turns, battalions/batteries/cav regiments done on a WEGO system. Complete "build your own" with up to a thousand units. Looks Great! They also plan to do a campaign system later on that will allow you to move in the campaign game and then fight in the tactical. Check it out, and tell Matrix to fast track. DavidI [ April 06, 2005, 01:22 PM: Message edited by: David I ] -
Polish Army in CMBB- a lot of mistakes
David I replied to sturmowik's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Sturmowik, I started a 1944 Warsaw Uprising (not to be confused with the 1943 Jewish Ghetto Uprising) of the Polish Home Army Mod Pack but never finished it. I did a complete uniform mod by replacing the Late War Russian Partisans with Polish Home Army. They wear SS Smocks with red and white armbands, German Army Sidecaps with Polish eagles and they turned out bitchin! However, all Russian late war faces have collars around their necks. Looks cool on the Russians but sucked out loud on the Polish Home Army, so I added collarless faces as part of the mod. That done, none of the late war Russians in the game had high collars, now that didn't bother me too much but it caused me to make a replacement face mod. My Warsaw project kinda fizzled as the uniform mod continued to grow combined with my inability to find a good, scaled map of 1944 Warsaw for making scenarios. If you would like a picture or even the mod drop me an email and I'll send them to you (Never did figure out how to do screenshots on this forum  ). DavidI -

I gotta cool "Julius Ceasar World Tour" tee shirt from Belle & Blade. DavidI -
Meateater, It's at US theaters now. However you will have to find an "Art" Theater like the Landmarks. Where ever they show foriegn films, etc. in your neck of the woods in SC. DavidI

Go see the German made movie "Downfall". Nominated for Best Foriegn Film at the 2005 Academy Awards, it is a film about the last few days of the Third Reich. Centered in Berlin, it is not only a excellent "Bunker" movie (and I've seen'm all - Alec Guiness, Anthony Hopkins, etc.) it is an excellent view of the fighting for Berlin in 1945. The script pulls heavily from the personal memroirs of Hitler's secretaries (Frau Junge is a principle character in the film) and sets and characters are excellent. One of the better war movies I have seen in a while. DavidI

Patboy, Sure, I'd love them. I got all my info from D'Este's "Bitter Victory". A fairly good map, excellent photos, good OOB. The photos of the area show it to be pretty much flat as a pancake with gulleys runing into the River and the Canal. Anybody trying to take that bridge during daylight would have a pretty rough time of it (as both the Germans and British found out). DavidI -
**SEVEN MORE new PzIV Mods!! (F models)**
David I replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Mikey, Love the mods. I think I'm going to use cammo on skirted tanks and no cammo on the non-skirted tanks in both games. Makes for an interesting look. Another thing I did was to mod my Pz IV G late so that it has it's turrent skirt, but not the side skirt (both summer and winter) looks cool and makes the late G, H and J's look very different from each other. As to you grey ones for CMBB, has anyone done a upgrade for the grey Pz III's? They are going to look pretty pukey when you get done with your Pz IV series. Keep it up! DavidI -

Patboy, I responded to your note at Proving Grounds today. In short it says that I will upgrade my first Primosole scenario (less turns, Italians begin dug in). I have already finished the 2nd scenario, the German counter attack the next morning - I call it "Red Devils vs. Green Devils" and will send it to the Proving Grounds soon. David I -

HG Panzer Crew, Early Insigna This mod features Hermann Goering Panzer Crews wearing the first pattern collar insigna. White collar patch with skulls and crossbones. This was later changed to white piped patches and even later to the skulls being directly attached to the collar. The solid white patches were supposed to be phased out in 1944, but I have seen pictures of them (worn by old vets?) as late as 1945. This mod also features brown leather gear. Toned down metals. Hermann Goering cuff titles (as opposed to the very early "General Goering"). Options include: Arms with no cuff titles (a curse on shared BMPs), tropical and Flieger blau pants and caps. All the original artwork is AndrewTF's (the Great & Powerful) and Beorix (cuff title). Enjoy. DavidI Playing with my new found ability to post screenies. Mike, Ah Ha! My computer was down at work, and the flag factory is busy, so you weren't able to torture me all day long! I'm at home now, and as long as CMMODs is up, they are Mine, all mine. Ah, ha, ha, ha! DavidI -
Andrew, That's probably a good idea. I look forward to your workday release. DavidI

Bump. Did I bump my own thread? Shameless. But who is this masked man? He who came in out of nowhere, promising some really cool ideas, and then vanished in the mists. Anybody know this guy? Hit by a truck? Figured out just how much work he had gotten himself into? DavidI -
Dey sent me one of his PzIV J screen skirts that had been winterized. From a distance it looked fine, but when I did a close up (about 10 meters) suddenly I could see through the tank, including the driver's body. Yuk. Andrew, you may want to do a close up of your creation and just double check. DavidI
