This means 3 things: 1. CMMODS must be back up. 2. Everyone gets a bitching new mod. 3. I've got some snow to apply. Thanks MikeyD. DavidI

Stalin's Organist, Shermans weren't bad, they are just ducky against Pz III and Pz IV. They do however have a hard time against the kitties. I don't think I recall a thread that postulated that the Pz II, Pz III and Pz IV were "that bad or not" in '41 Russia when they ran up against the KV. When the US and the Brits figured out that they were facing superior armor and guns from the German heavies they went into hyper drive to design, test and field their own heavy tanks (Centurian and Pershing). That they arrived after hostilities were over was the way it went, but mind you they did it inside of two years. The struggle to up armor and up gun usually has one side or the other reaching that breakthough before the other, the Allies did well with what they had. You fight with what you have until they give you something better to fight with, and if you have been in the service long enough, you bitch that the new stuff is "too slow", "too maintenance heavy", "too 'not what you are familiar with'" whatever. My two bits. DavidI

A further clarification (after some experimenting). In Italy there are two grass bmp groups. One is Early War Open Ground (bmps 1570 to 1589) These provide the open ground textures July 1943 to December 1943. During the winter months Jan, Feb, Dec 1944 and Jan, Feb 1945 these same bmps are given a slight green cast for non-snow conditions. The second group is Late War Open Ground (bmps 1550 to 1569). these provide the open ground textures March to November 1944 and March, April 1945. For Italy I use Gurra's Dry Open Ground for early war (Although I think OSF's Open Ground from CMBB would be good too, would need to be renumbered to 1570-1589) and Gurra's Earthy Open Ground for Late war Italy. Looks like this: Sicily/Southern Italy - Central/North Italy - Winter No Snow (Jan,Feb,Dec.1944 & Jan. Feb. 45)- For ETO I now use OSF's renumbered to 1570-1589 and Ed's CMBO Grass. For CM Normandy I use Vossie's open ground. DavidI

RockinHarry, Oddly enough it was your scenario project that inspired these. Main difference is the change from Jump jackets with the thigh wraps to Ground Combat Jackets. Additionally the ammo bandoliers and gas can cases are replaced with regular ammo pouches and cans. Also gone are the jump boots, replaced by low boots and gaters. DavidI PS. I may try making a water/tan ground combat jacket as well.

Keep them coming. DavidI

That appears to be Desert Open Ground (Sand). I think Vossie has got a different sand mod in his "Arrid Rocks" uber terrain mod. However I think you might find that sand is as exciting as sand is. DavidI

Loved it. DavidI
