Death clock?

I usually try to avoid the Finnish denizens of this forums as much as possible, but I kinda need their help. I'm looking for a Finnish version of "Sleigh Ride" (this song, but in Finnish).
It would be nice if I could stream it or something.
Thanks in advance,
stikky

It's something we've been aware of for a long time. The problem is this is not an easy thing to "fix" because there are potential problems with reversing it. But yes, we do agree that if your intent is to "shoot and scoot" the current implementation isn't all that good. We have a larger fix in mind, but I agree it would be nice to get a temporary fix in the game for now.
Steve
I thought the "FAST" order was supposed to tell soldiers to drop and everything and run? Would it be possible to implement that?

90 seconds for AT-13/Metis vs. 0 seconds for Javelin, when all the Syrian crew has to do is flip down a single tripod support leg, seems to me to be somewhat unbalanced in favour of Javelin.
I don't think it's reasonable to assume, all other things being equal, that it takes 90 seconds to flip down a single tripod support leg - unless of course the assumption is veteran Syrians are less capable than Veteran US.
It's time to the first shot. In my experience it can take about 30 sec before the first Javelin hits the skies.

A problem with this sort of mechanism is that it will provide a predictable path - anyone with the same software will be able to determine where you're going to move and will take steps.
It's "just" type of search algorithm so look for a best path. What is crucial is what you determine to be a "good" path.

Yes.
No .
I thought dynamic lighting was in the code to make possible for example the use of flares?

Hi,
Some questions about spotting just popped in my head:
a) Does firing make it easier to spot a unit. Say I have a very well hidden ATGM, will it be easier to spot this ATGM after it launches a couple of missiles.
Does standing next to a burning vehicle at night make units easier to spot? Or how does dynamic lighting affect spotting?
Thanks in advance!

For those who missed this like me . Quick question, do the IFVs depicted carry more ammo than the British IFVs?

Lost to Boo. But in my defence the scenario was unbalanced as they come. His crack tanks outnumbered my green one 10:1. Plus I had to navigate through rocky, marshy terrain while he had an express way to the high ground and the flags.
May the gods piss on the head of that gamey bastiche!

Here's a fun PC problem. I have CMSF on my PC laptop and Vista's Data Execution Prevention won't let me open the game's manuals in Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2 (it seems because potentially they are riddled with lurgy bugs)
Seems it's been a problem for a few years....
Solution: seek expensive professional help or simply copy them over to the mac to open
Or download foxit reader for windows.

Boo is a gamey bastiche.
Nidan1 is a no-turn sending gamey bastiche.

Locals would have a tolerance built up. The fact the locals could drink the water ok doesn't mean it wouldn't make US troops sick untreated. Anyone who's been on vacation to Mexico would know that.
Where do you get that they didn't see any of them? I don't believe that was stated anywhere except by you. The insurgents were using the village for cover both during the attack and during their retreat.
The estimated number of attackers is partially based on the size of the force that had been harassing the previous position, OP Bella. From the report rough draft:
"...the presence of a relatively large insurgent force of at least several score fighters operating in the vicinity of Bella was well documented."
What's wrong with just boiling the water?

Thanks so much for the prompt reply (great service there!). Unfortunately I cannot login to the store either and i cannot re-register obviously. It says my username/password is wrong yet these are the ones I use to login here. I cannot change them either because they are linked to hotmail, and I am not receiving the new emails
The login is different from the forum. I think it's your email (unless your email address is really long, then in that case it's the first 23 letters or something).

Before I start testing can someone confirm the Mast function?
From wikipedia.org:
FV 514 Mechanised Artillery Observation Vehicle. This is operated by the Royal Artillery as an Artillery Observation Post Vehicle (OPV) and is fitted with mast-mounted Man-packable Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radar (MSTAR) and Position and Azimuth Determining System (PADS), with Image Intensifying and Infra Red equipment. The only armament is the 7.62 mm machine gun, as the 30 mm Rarden cannon is replaced with a dummy weapon. This allows space for the targeting and surveillance equipment while still keeping largely the same outward appearance of a standard Warrior in order to avoid becoming a priority target. That mast is probably the MSTAR.

As for release we've decided we're not going to rush things to get it out by Christmas as originally planned. We would rather enjoy the Holidays Our goal, however, is to have it mostly done before taking some time off at the end of the year. That is still our plan and we're still thinking it is possible. We'll know much better in a month.
Steve
Wait what? You'll finish it before the end of the year and then wait to release because you want *holidays*?! I hate you Steve

Sid Meyer's Pirates. A brilliant strategy game marred by an absolutely assinine dancing video game in the middle. The worst part was you couldn't skip it, or chosse some sort of autoresolution, and if you didn't mater it, you couldn't advance.
Talk about a repetitive game. I never played the original but playing the new one I wonder how people ever considered it addictive.

Somehow I have the feeling he had it coming.

stickypixie,
I got some spare time I didn't think I would have tonight, if you want I can setup a call for fire test to see how good a dismounted FO does in comparison to a mounted FO.
I'm thinking testing to see how many spotting rounds are required before firing for effect and a yes/no on if the fire for effect is accurate, insofar as I've noticed more fire missions landing "off" lately. Might be me just noticing things I didn't before, might be something new in 1.20.
That would be cool to know actually. I tried a small one myself and I only noticed a minor difference at around 2000m. Try different weather conditions and lighting conditions too if you're really bored. I'm really tired right now. I'll stop messing around on the pc.
-
I think you can only see a difference over really long distances. The accuracy bonus that I noticed anyway, is when the spotting rounds start to fall. With those FO vehicles the first round seem to nearly always land on target so that the barrage proper can begin pretty soon. "Normal" spotting can take a bit longer before the spotting rounds fall on target. Just an impression though.
-
I believe you can a difference in accuracy and time delay if you put a spotter team in the vehicle (and use that team to spot) than when they're dismounted. I know this is definitely the case with similar vehicles for the US army.

Have you tried using the pause command?
-
You can read?!!!! **surprised**
No but I can program a text-to-speech programme. Or at least I can ask someone who can.

I am so freaking tired, my eyes hurt from this drivel...wait.
