  1. I disagree. In CMx1 terms, if Jason was wanted to test out his tactics he could have just started up a QB, picked the units he wanted, set-up his defense and then let his opponent come after him.
  2. This probably sounds dumb to people who were once artillery men, but I think the art/air model provides me the biggest sense of immersion of anything in the game. So I really like it. -"cancel" does seem to take a really long time. I dont know if that is real or not. -I assume some sort of TRP will be added eventually. If so, I hope you dont do the big red bullseyes again. Something more along the lines of the scene from We Were Soldiers where they call in the preset coordinates (I know it is Hollywood - be nice)
  3. You know Randy, I never did get to use my 20,000 axemen on anybody. I suppose a volley of javelins going up your arse would be about the same thing. Care to tango & test your evil UN theories against my hyper-clickfest firepower?
  4. You know that only happens if you give it two waypoints and then delete one.
  5. Breathe Randy. In-Out-In-Out. I'm playing a PBEM game and the file sizes arent that bad.
  6. There are quite a few instances where one of my units can spot individual soldiers, but when I try to target them the enemy icon is located out of LOS. I know I can issue an area target order, but what does that do as compared to an enemy target order. Somebody care to elaborate on what works best if I want to shoot at the inidividuals that I can see. [ July 30, 2007, 07:14 PM: Message edited by: David Chapuis ]
  7. I also have driven a stryker though 1 section of blown up wall
  8. But how is that any different that the points in the CMx1 games? eg, can 5 20mm armored cars go up against a Tiger? No chance at all. But they are about equal in points. And no doubt it is a lot of work to implement. And no doubt something would have to be cut to put that in. But - if I understand them correctly - they dont really even want it in; they think it is better without.
  9. I'd say yes. There are syrian battles, and I am sure it wont be too long before syrian campaigns start poping up.
  10. Of course deleting troops is irrelevant for a quick battle.
  11. No, the point of this thread was to reveal lurking idiots - and it seems to have accomplished that in at least one case.
  12. I would think it is meaning unit "chaser" (not a unit in the battle you just finished) was lost and you have to go find. Of course that is just a guess.
  13. www.theblitz.org is ready and already accepting scenarios for CMSF. From my CMx1 experience, no other site gives as much feedback about played scenarios as theblitz.
  14. got the file back and my men are still stranded in their Russian tombs. Do you need me to send you a file?
  15. return the file so i can see if my men move. I have some strykers to kill
  16. haha - mine is doing that too. the reason it took so long for me to return the file is that I was testing and testing trying to figure out how to do it. basically i figured out that if you give the move out order before the vehicle stops the units wont move. cancel all the orders and then issue another order to move - that fixed it in my test pbem. note (I cant remember if this happened in RT)
  17. Not just long range. I have had one blast my syrians at 10m
  18. I can understand this. I also understand that what I intend as feedback on "my wants" can easily be viewed by the designers as criticism. So, again, I will pull out my fanboi hat and say I do like that game and have great expectations for playing it for years to come - and concerning this I will play for a couple weeks and see if I cant re-evaluate my stance.
  19. The problem is that is not an explanation. And the explanations that have been put forth are lacking. If there was a good explanation that was presented so we could understand, I dont think there would be such an outcry. for example, Steve has pointed out that you cannot rewind during realtime and that you cant have the VCR setting during the first play through of WeGo. He has explained why, and people are understanding, even if it is slowly. The explanations for not putting QB selection pretty much add up to - IMO - "we didnt think it was necessary." (Yes there have been some other things that might have made it hard or different or take time - I think everybody gets that. Its the "you dont really need it" that I personally dont understand. But I have agreed to consider for two weeks and address the issue again - if I have a revelation in that time I will publicly bow low in humiliation) And this could be read as insulting if one wanted to.
  20. Obviously you need help with reading comprehension
  21. Trying to load a PBEM file, and I get hung up at the same % (67%) every time. I can send you the file if you are interested.
  22. I will try to open my mind and imagine an orange stuck with cloves
