  1. And thanks to both David I and Fredrock 1957 for the positive comments on my scenarios. I appreciate it. aka_tom_w you can wander over to The Proving Grounds and find all the new scenarios you can play. They are in Beta form but for the most part they are high quality scenarios. http://the-proving-grounds.com Hope to see you there.
  2. That may be my scenario. HSG B The Sharp End. It is one of HSG's Battle of the Bulge scenarios. HSG has an array of scenarios that feature Panther and Tiger battles vs the Allied armor forces. If you are interested I could email you our scenario pack. The scenarios are all either Semi-historically or historically based as well. Email me at the address on the site if you are interested.
  3. Probably not, because that is the most imbalanced fight you could model. Your Soviet division attacking on a super-narrow front is probably rolling over a half strength German battalion stretched over those 2km (although I'm guessing the Russian division is probably badly understrength also). It's only interesting if there are German reserves to the rear which make a counterattack later to restore the line. Then you get an interesting back and forth CMC campaign. </font>
  4. One of the things I put in my scenarios, that is missing in CMBB, is a commissar. He seems to be the missing link you are looking for. I take a Battalion Commander, minus the battalion, make him elite and always give him a +2 for morale. Depending on the situation I will give him either a +1 or +2 command rating. This does a couple of things for your Soviets. It gives them a leader that will help their morale, and depending on the command rating, help them move more quickly. Just what a commissar did. I rarely give combat or stealth ratings to a commissar. Those are things that he either didn't do, or more than likely, would get a negative rating for, if the game had them. Until the first part of 1943 you can boost a Soviet OOB, for a defensive battle especially, with a commissar. Hope this helps. ***Edited for puncutation. Man I need to start adding some commas on the original posts.*** [ October 27, 2005, 04:45 AM: Message edited by: Panther Commander ]
  5. Go to The Proving Grounds. There are THOUSANDS of gamers that primarily do PBEM there. TPG's main purpose is playtesting too so go see what they have to offer. http://the-proving-grounds.com See you there.
  6. I did forget to name Wild Bill Wilder to my list but he doesn't do new scenarios. So I don't download any of his new works the moment it comes out. Kingfish is a glaring ommission. The others I'm not a rabid fan of. My list was for designers that I download their works immediately without even knowing what it is about. Take your own works for instance, I really like some and don't care for others, so I look them over to see if they interest me. The ones of yours that I don't care for is because of design philosophy more than anything else. I am lean towards the short brutal type scenario and yours tend to be longer with more space to maneuver. That I think is how most scenarios are chosen. By subject AND author. But who knows for sure... The above list are guys that I will download whatever they make without worrying about whether it is a subject I like or not.
  7. I want to do the battle for Minsk during Operation Bagration. Lot's of different troop types and terrain types. Big armor on both sides.
  8. The 100mm ATG is there. It's available in early 1945. Nobody's large artillery is in the game. The maps are too small for their normal deployment. Only if they are overrun would they make to the front lines. Hope this helps.
  9. Will units that move around alot on the operational map have any fatigue assigned to them? Will units that are fatigued in the battles keep it or lose it after a time of no contact on the operational map? Can units run out of fuel in the operational phase? Thanks for the amount of work that has gone into this.
  10. CMBB can be played multiplayer in PBEM with a little patience and the will to do it. It is VERY rewarding and the results are quite interesting at times. When we do this we don't allow for more than minimal conversation between players of the same side/different units. I've even made scenarios that were designed to be played 3 player for CMAK. No difference in the execution for CMBB.
  11. A new game designer at The Proving Grounds has started doing a lot of CMAK ASL conversions. Look for Risingsun360's scenarios. That should give you a place to start on a fresh batch of conversions.
  12. I think this is an example of my third person post in action... So yes, not only do I have to wade through these retarded, pretentious, self important posts on the forum, but now I get spam emails at home. What next? Full page ads in Computer Gaming Monthly? Tom, at least have enough guts to use your real name next time. </font>
  13. Actually you are getting ready to play a lot of Meeting Engagements. Most battle in WWII were and for gaming purposes the more exciting battles will be the fluid ones. Or in CMBB terms ME's...
  14. While I know that the rockets are very inaccurate they would not make it to Hell's Half Acre. It is just to the west of Casper, Wyoming. As the name denotes, a pretty inhospitable place...
  15. The best onboard mortar in CMBB is the Sturmtiger! It comes with a 66 meter blast zone!! Wooo Hooo !!!! If you've never used one I highly recommend them. The only problem is that you alwasy find one in a crowd of Russians... It even somewhat resembles the version that Kingfish prefers. The part of the barrel big enough to drive a Sherman into... The HSG Tiger Pack at The Proving Grounds has a ST scenario in it. Sorry, TPG needs the publicity...
  16. While I really appreciate the plug for my work, all of the KC scenarios are currently for CMBB. There are however, a couple in the works for CMAK. Maybe by the end of the year...
  17. HSG scenarios haven't disappeared. You can get any of them by emailing us direct or asking for them at The Proving Grounds. Rumors of our demise are greatly exaggerated!! And thank you for the kind words about my work. I appreciate it. </font>
  18. Setup is nation specific. To change sides use the "\" key. That will allow you the same amount of options for the Russians that you are currently getting for the Germans. Setup ALWAYS opens in the Axis setup mode. Do the same thing for setting your opening views for each side. The last view you have for that side is the view you will see when opening the scenario. To see which side you are looking at check the flags in the center left. The flag that is to the left is the view you are seeing. Hope this helps.

  20. Make the operations two battles with the same number of total turns you would use in the battle scenario. For instance, if you had a battle 30 turns long do two operation battles 15 turns each. I actually forgot that you had to do 2 battles in an operation. I had to use the two battles with the total number of turns on a couple of scenarios that I wanted large sized maps on. Hope this works for your scenario.
  21. HSG Giesen's Bridge by Warmonger Storm 555 by British Tommy Both are outstanding scenario designers that stand that little extra above the rest of a group that is extraordinarily talented... To pick a single scenario or for that matter a single scenario designer from the talent that spends their time making our hobby what it is today is a VERY TOUGH decisision. Here are just some of the designers that make professional quality scenarios good enough for any BFC game disk. Get a scenario from any of these guys and you can't go wrong. BannonDC Bertrand Dossmann British Tommy Carl Puppchen Chris "Ferrous" Dey-The Daffy General Failure Fredrock1957 George Mc Gil Wilson Kingfish Larry Thorne Panzerman Runyan99 Simonovitch Stoffel Warmonger This list is NOT all inclusive. This is just my short list. I see a scenario by one of these designers and I DL it automatically. Thanks for the hours of pleasure that you have all afforded me over the months and years...
  22. Operation maps can easily be used for battles. Just make a one battle operation. Hope this helps.
