  1. Hello Marco: The spreadsheet has the data for the 75mm only I think. Could you post the spreadsheet files for the other calibers - so far there is just a pgn for these? Thanks very much, Gerry
  2. Thanks Marco. Those charts look amazing. I will give them a shot. Gerry
  3. First I would like to say I appreciate the efforts and time given by anyone that has playtested the game. However, your statement Mikey doesn't include any of the vehicles I listed in my post. Your list is more the traditional set of vehicles. Again when seeing Pumas facing M8s and HTs I would no idea of their relative capabilities. Add your list to my list and it is a fair few vehicles. Then add in those from modules, Bulge game, EF, etc. and it could be overwhelming. People that have played the CMx1 series are also way ahead of those of us just starting in this system. Another issue may be that some people like charts; some just prefer to figure it out by playing. I like charts. Take care, Gerry
  4. While people might understand the relative strengths of a Panther versus a Sherman, there are many more obscure vehicles (for me at least) to learn about. Just playing Cats chasing Dogs and you have Pumas against M8s and half-tracks. Seems the Puma with the 50mm can kill an M8 pretty easily but the 37mm of the M8 needs many penetrations to hurt a Puma. There is quite a variety of vehicles on both sides in this scenario. Some kind of relative strength chart would be nice. (I have been away for a while so I might have missed something.) Thanks, Gerry
  5. Hello All: A few questions about the objectives: 1. As the Amis, it states there is a bonus of 240 points. What is this for? 2. I realize that I am not required to exit Mortars and Assault Guns. It says I also don't have to exit the Troop HQ. Not sure which vehicles these are as the Troop HQ has M8s and Jeeps but there are other M8s and Jeeps in the force? From the Jerrys side: IIRC it said something like no Amis should be allowed to exit. So does that mean that if one does, the scenario is lost for the German side? Thanks in advance, Gerry
  6. Hello: I cannot seem to get the waypoints to work accurately. Sometimes I want to drive up to a wall but often the tank drives through losing any possible hull-down status. Or driving towards bocage, it will try and mount it and have its underbelly sticking up. Any help appreciated. Gerry
  7. Thanks for the great insights and tips everyone. Gerry
  8. I believe that even though the target line emanates from the unit, it actually is reporting on LOS from the waypoint. Gerry
  9. Hello: Main problem I have is trying to use the mortars. In this bocage coutryside it is hard for observers to get a LOS. They seem to just be able to see to the next hedgerow. This requires moving the leaders up front and I don't know if that happened in WW II? But even up front, as I said, their LOS seems restricted to the next hedgerow. Also after getting to the second rows or so or hedgerows I am having another difficulty. The enemy show up as contacts (playing Veteran) but even when near them they seem to stay as contacts. They are in bocage so I assume they are hiding in there? Also I have a few squads and tanks on a hedgerow hitting the forces opposite and somehow that does not seem to be enough firepower to drive them back. Don't know what I am doing wrong here. It seems I have overwhelming numbers and firepower. Thanks in advance, Gerry
  10. That Road to Berlin is like the 4th mission in the tutorial part of the full game (1st mission in Raff Campaign). I worked through it OK as a noob by looking at the Keyboard and Mouse Control section in the manual but it would be nice for noobs to have some of the earlier tutorials in the Demo. I understand that a company cannot give too much away in a demo. Gerry
  11. IIRC, there is a beep and a message appears near the top of the screen. There is no running tally of VPs you can peruse so you won't be notified again until the AAR screen. Gerry
  12. Can you give me an idea of how long between waypoints? Gerry
  13. Hello: I played a scenario where I had to cross a long stretch of open ground. I did some things right, I think? As in using MGs and some squads to suppress defenders, some mortar fire, while some squads moved forward. I experimented with a variety of move commands so some advise would be appreciated. I tried Slow for some squads but it is very slow and they become fatigued fairly soon. I seemed to have better results with Assault even though they were not really assaulting a position, just trying to cross the open ground. Using Hunt, they come to a standstill upon contact so that didn't seem to work. So would Assault be a good command for this as they split into teams so all are not vulnerable at the same time? How do you get a Mortar to fire Smoke? And, when you want to switch to HE, do you have to start another fire mission? Thanks in advance, Gerry
  14. Are Prisoners considered casualties for VP purposes? And I assume you would have to round them up too (so they change to that white flag) to count? Thanks, Gerry
  15. Hello Topo: Your English is fine. And thanks for the help. So would MGs firing from 300m be an example? I can see how mortars getting too close would cause casualties. Gerry
  16. If you are attacking a position but have an overwatch group suppressing it, can you have deaths due to friendly fire? IOW, are your units sure to miss friendlies that are close to the position or do you really need to stop everyone firing on that spot? How does it work then when you issue an Assault command to a squad when they themselves split into teams and some seem to fire as the others approach the objective. Thanks in advance, Gerry
  17. Started this as my first campaign. I got a tactical victory in the Beau Gillot mission. Had 10 KIA and 16 Wounded. Are Wounded counted as casualties? I guess so. So I didn't earn those VPs. And only got 154 points for killing the enemy. I Ceased Fire with ca. 15 mins to go as I had not seen an enemy for a while. I assumed they were all tot. Maybe that was a mistake. How far away should you go from an objective in case there are more out there? Looks really interesting. There must have been an amazing amount of research done by PT for this. Gerry
  18. Hello: I remember how much I enjoyed PBEM in other games so I am thinking about giving it a go. But unsure about the dos and don'ts when it comes to CMBN and PBEM. 1. How do people decide on a scenario? IOW, does it have to be one neither have played before? That doesn't seem practical as there are only so many scenarios. But then, one would have an advantage by knowing at least one of the OBs. 2. How many turns is considered a good rate? In ASL, I hated getting 3-4 turns a week. My best opponent had at least one log per day so the scenario stayed interesting. So I would be hoping to find someone who could do a turn a day at least. Thanks in advance. Gerry
  19. I can see how to change everything else in the Profile but not the username. Gerry
  20. Yes, sorry I was incorrect. I deleted my post. I use the mouse for movement and X and Z do the zoom in and zoom out. Gerry
  21. Hello: How can I change mu username? I believe I have to ask someone to do this? Thanks, Gerry
  22. Looking for a recommendation for a smallish and "simple" scenario to tackle after the 2 tutorial campaigns. Thanks, Gerry
  23. One other question. In of the the tutorial missions, I noticed Shermans firing on the move - it was the mission with the dummy German tanks. They did it multiple times. Is this the normal behavior? Thanks, Gerry
  24. Hello: 1. Coming from ASL so know them as bow-mounted, coaxial, and anti-aircraft MGs. Wondering are there more proper military terms? 2. Neat experience yesterday going through Raff Campaign. I could only see 2 MGs on a Sherman. Then I zoomed in, and they were firing the coaxial MG. Just seems to stick out a little from the turret. Cool beans. 3. Is the firing of the anti-aircraft and coaxial one mutually exclusive. Thanks, Gerry
  25. Hello: The player that won 25 games of course has lost 75. So this is a very poor record. I would imagine a rating should be tied to a winning percentage? Take care, Gerry
