I apologize if I posted this in the wrong board, but I figured my problem would get the most feedback here. I am running Windows ME, and I attempt to download custom unit icons and graphics mods on sites like Otto's SC Page, but when I unzip the files into the appropriate folder, there is no change. I attempted to install custom unit icons and such on my friends system, which runs Windows XP, and when I pasted the files into the folder a message popped up: "Overwrite File(s)?". I clicked Yes, and the new files overwrote the new ones, and the new graphics worked. So, my question is, to install new icons do I need to manually delete the old ones, or am I just unable to have custom icons? General: ****ING WINDOWS 98!! Get Bill Gates over here! How do you go about setting up games? Do I email someone or do I use the formal challenge link on the ladder site?

Guys, keep this idea up. Maybe you could just do it like the one that got locked up and make different threads for different parts of the AAR. "Like I dig this Hitler guy, he's sort of Nutsy! My greatest creation since Jazz." Hilarious.

Maybe there could be a system where U.S has a certain amount of money ready for them when they enter the war, and they can choose to give money monthly to the U.K and Russia, but it will detract from their starting war-entry cash.

Of course, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Just imagine, in summer 2010, we'll finally get SC2... By that time, Jersey John will still be posting 3 times a week.

I was wondering...is it too late to add a toggle unit graphics on/off option for the SC graphics patch? I like the new unit pictures, but my eyes for some reason process better the bare bones unit pictures of the old SC. By the way, thanks for the onslaught of new news regarding SC. There seemed to be a lull for a little bit.

Do you want the next SC to be European Theater, Pacific Theater, or World Theater? I personally think the SC engine would not go well with Pacific, and World Theater would be overwhelming to me (also think about how long the comp's turns would be :eek: ). Finally, do you think that Hubert should add new campaigns? If so, which ones?

I remember reading a great book named Third Reich Victorious (an alternate-history book of WW2). The scenario it set up was that the SS had taken control of the nuclear weapons program in Germany and forced (literally) scientists such as Heisenberg (sp?) to create the atomic bomb. After Hitler attained two, he dropped them in in unison on Moscow and London. I think some people's ideas of random events would be great. Instead of atomic bombing London and seeing the message, "Government moves to Manchester", it could have a pop up message with a picture of a bombed-out Parliament building: British government destroyed, Montgomery takes temporary control of country (or something to that effect). Morale and HQ leadership would take a hit. In the book, Stalin goes into hiding after the bombing of Moscow, and Zhukov is left to coordinate the evacuation effort. Before Hitler can get another bomb, the Allies use their atomic bomb on Berlin and kill the Fuhrer and the Nazi rule of Germany.

The only problem I can see with the idea is space issues. For example, Greece. If unit stacking was introduced, I say that the corp and the hq would be on the capital of Greece. I also think that in later versions of SC HQs should be made much weaker than they are right now.

I was playing Sonnenwende last night. I conquered Russia, and soon after Iraq and Turkey. I then conquered Britain. After Britain, I was in 1947. I then began an amphibious operation on Canada. After I conquered Canada, I began moving air troops there to soften up American defenses. On May 1, 1947, even though America had not surrendered ( I hadn't even started the invasion), the message came up: Germany dictates a New Order in Europe (something like that). Any idea why this happened? Is there an automatic thing where if you hit May 1, 1947 the game automatically ends?

I see there are plenty of add-ons to Victory. Les, do you have any? Could you recommend any?

hmmm...EastFront and Victory is 100 dollars... Sooo...EastFront is a lock (I can't wait to play it). What should I get, Victory or Axis and Allies (Europe or Pacific or just stick with the regular version?). Also, tell me about EastFront (boardgame). What is it exactly? Does it have different scenarios or is it just one game?
