  1. can't join any servers, neither Linux or XP. The game CTDs. is it just me? edit: OK again now... move on, there´s nothing to see here [ May 05, 2007, 09:26 AM: Message edited by: __Yossarian0815[jby] ]
  2. tornado...check thunderstorm...check earthquake...
  3. /var/log/Xorg.0.log if it works, Xorg.9.log (or similar) if it blows. </font>
  4. The turrets have gained AA capability. Just tested this. If in LOS they start firing at your dropship while you´re way up in the air. They didn´t used to, or is it just my feeble memory.
  5. to avoid newbie frustration: look at this first: http://dropteam.johalla.de/Threats/100/Thor0.html (essentially the same thing as the armor penetration values in CM) and post when you´ll be online, maybe some of the regulars (including me) will have time and lend a helping hand. i´m still waiting for dark-au to establish a team and demonstrate his uber-tactical genius by challenging those who enjoy this game to a battle. I´m sure the "upstarts" would oblige.
  6. What I read: I do spend about a month each summer in the pub, but you never know
  7. Thst good news in a perverted sort of way.Means it´s just a bug and not a server hardware issue. [ April 24, 2007, 12:49 AM: Message edited by: __Yossarian0815[jby] ]
  8. did you unzip the file in XP or linux? unzipping on NTFS causes strange errors in linux.
  9. I might be outing myself as a complete dumbo here, but i was under the impression that you can just erase your dropteam folder and that´s it (worked for me, I installed/erased DT on my Xubuntu something like 5 times)). I don´t think there are any other dt files lurking elsewhere.
  10. more like a precambrian clam. holy cow. I gave away my old 9800 a year ago
  11. and to add to the confusion (or not), when I played on linux then other day poesel could hear me. or to put it simply: linux can´t hear windows. one other comment on 1.2.5: the bots have improved greatly, but sometimes they cluster at the edge of the map for no aparent reason. 12. Take my mouse from my old shaky hands! (apologies to Charlton Heston *eg*)
  13. LMCTl doesnt recognize my mouse. my current xorg.conf: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Configured Mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2" # Option "CorePointer" # Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "Dev Name" "Logitech USB Gaming Mouse" # Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7" # Option "Emulate3Buttons" "false" EndSection if i change the protocol to evdev x goes titsup. which is the logfile you would require?
  14. Thnks 'Yossarian', but as I said, that doesn't work. </font>
  15. you don´t need to enter the activation key in your second install. just enter your name & password.
  16. Athlon64 4000 (single core) evga 7800 gtx 2gis of ram playing at 1280x1024...very smooth edit: I take that back (partially at least). When lots of troops are visible it starts to stutter in "the last frontier" battle [ April 20, 2007, 02:29 PM: Message edited by: __Yossarian0815[jby] ]
  17. I have DT on XP and Linux (Xubuntu32bit) I have a Logitech G5 laser mouse. The Mouse works fine in both OSs. However when I zoom in and try to aim at distant targets in Linux (not in XP) the mouse seems to lose its accuracy. It feels like when you try to use an optical mouse on white paper or a completely gummed up traditional mouse. Given the discrepancy between the two OSs I thought: must be da driver. In a website somebody posted his xorg.conf settings for his G5. Under driver he had "evdev", whereas I have "mouse" Now my Linux has evdev, but if I exchange "mouse" to "evdev" the x server crashes. Any ideas?
  18. at first glance: a new server (at about 140 ping from me, so better than DP) an engineer unit (inf that can take over buidings) new bot behaviour. they appear to make small teams minor tweaks to the interface, though I cant tell if its more than cosmetic.
  19. Sundays 3pm EST (8pm GMT) we usually have quite a few players. It´s become a tradition. Even my wife respects it by now
  20. Thx for explaining Toby. I didn´t realise that dash and bash actually use different commands. I flipped through a few threads on the topic. Some people got quite emotional about this dash bash thing.
  21. Played my first online battle on Linux yesterday. Nexus sounded like Darth Vader (slooow and deeep) on voice (most of the time,Ineed to add). I checked your old thread on this problem Nexus, but you said it wa a 64bit issue. I´m not so sure since I´m running 32bit only. I also noticed that DT appears to slow down the mouse. When you hit escape the mouse speeds up to normal in the options menu. Is this intentional?
