  1. Hetzer´s were produced by Skoda in the CSSR after the war. 150 or so were sold to Switzerland in July 1945(!) One of them was given to Austria and is still in working order. I saw it yesterday I´ll upload some pics later today.
  2. Divine intervention:we had the mother of all thunderstorms here. which proves that god hates me. 9 players..grumble...mumble... [ June 02, 2008, 12:36 AM: Message edited by: __Yossarian0815[jby] ]
  3. I´ve got DT installed on 2 completely different Ubuntu 8.04 sytems and have no problem with the graphics. (one has a 7800gtx, the other a 8500 gt) (the mouse is a different story) anywho, it´s a cool effect. I bet you thought at first: "I shouldn´t have inhaled"
  4. the current version is 1.3.5 run update (in your dropteam folder) that should solve your problem.
  5. Somebody took out the wiki again...
  6. Regardless of what the setting is I want: 1) an internet independent LAN party mode, especially for the demo. Although I´m not really the age for LANs anymore, I think the de facto impossibility of LAN partying severely reduced the original DT´s appeal. 2) a re-think on post release development As cool as post release development was in DT, I think it would have been better to do this "parallel" to the game. The game at the time of upstarts vs. devs was essentially a finished product. All later updates while adding cool bells and whistles also led to many loose ends like server instability, higher bandwidth, people not being able to join (see Phantom´s problem), sound in linux not compatible to mac/windows etc. I think DT would be very well suited to have a basic game and a dev mod in which new updates can be tested without nerfing the stable base game.
  7. Hmm, OK do you have the following files (this is a list of all the files the scenario uses)? Testintro.png gauntlet.raw Gauntlet.jpg dirtLight.png grassDetail.png GrassCC.png dust.png Wind_Light_Loop_Fade.wav TestFront.png TestRight.png TestBack.png TestLeft.png TestTop.png TestBottom.png MBT.physicalobjectgroup IFVA.physicalobjectgroup LightTank.physicalobjectgroup Rifleman.physicalobjectgroup HopePalm1.physicalobjectgroup HopePalm2.physicalobjectgroup HopePalm3.physicalobjectgroup AirDefenseTower.physicalobjectgroup
  8. 1) check if all three files are in dropteam/data
  9. I solved the invisible scenario problem i left an emtpy line in the middle of the xml code. it appears that some Dropteam versions don´t like that. get the repaired version here: http://yossarian0815.yo.funpic.de/gauntletv2.rar pls report if you can play in standalone now, thx! PS: this version might not let you join the gauntlet server because of the code difference, but given the connectivity issues that is academic anyway.
  10. well it seams that my server bandwidth is not enough. started to chug as soon as a second player joined. too bad.
  11. 152, stonewall, pls return to delta pavonis
  12. ah, then the textures Iwo uses are original game. can everybody else who might be joining us on Sunday join the Gauntlettestserever (English really neeeds composite nouns )?
  13. OK, while I cannot see the scenario in standalone, I can join my server that is running it. Iĺl see if I can find out whats wrong with the name not showing up tomorrow.
  14. Crap I have the same problem in my linux install WITH bloody iwo installed. Does Gauntlet V2 work for anybody using windows XP?
  15. I forgot to mention, you have to have the scenario bloody iwo installed.
  16. maybe I forgot something, I´ll check.
  17. I´ve made some progress with my Gauntlet scenario. get it here: http://yossarian0815.yo.funpic.de/GauntletV2.rar the rar contains: gauntletV2.scenario, a new homemade heightmap gauntlet.raw and a texture made with the help of an irfan view addon. I´ll run it on my server starting tomorrow. Changes to V1 -)a new heightmap and base texture -)colonial defence is now 8 paladin 76mm, 4 apollo 120mm, 4 rifle squads -) slightly modified deployment zones In Single player I would recommend playing the defence, since the bots will just cluster arounf the objective if they defend.
  18. I´ll have a lot of free time on thursday, expect emails then. There is no secret communication. Just real life. As for Jung, I bet I know why he didn´t turn up. Russia beat Canada at Ice Hockey, so 99% of all canadians were probably commiserating in bars.
  19. I couldn´t possibly explain in six words. It´s a long story that involves small children not willing to go to sleep and women
  20. waiiit a moment...do I interpret this correctly that another gaming Daddy is in the offing? CONGRATULATIONS! If I misunderstood I blame my current lack of caffeein...
  21. AVG official response: \Battlefront\DropTeam\DropTeam.exe" - false alarm
  22. One good thing about TS would be that we would save bandwidth for the actual game (assuming that the in game chat is routed via the server)
  23. this was the end of my creature zoo attempt: SpaceVikings: Message.cpp:314: void Message::Read(char*, int): Assertion `length < len' failed. this is what I ran ./SpaceVikings -enterlobby false -hostmode server -lobbyname Creature_Zoo_Lives -numbots0 8 -numbots1 8 -dynamicbots true -password jbypw -deploymenttime 180 -mod Creature_Zoo_7 -maxclients 16 I think for now i will concentrate on sprucing up my gauntlet scenario and run that on my server.
