  1. The Full Force of the Royal Navy comes down on the Kriegsmarine U-Boat Forces operating in the Atlantic, End Result some damage done to a French Cruiser, and the Nelson is reduced to strength 7. Both U-boats are alive, but barely, diving many times. Denmark has fallen. Another French Corps destroyed, Billote visible in the mist
  2. Allies destroy a Panzer Division in Belgium, but we mantain our equilibrium counterattacking and destroying 1 French Corps, weakening Denmark, and raiding in the Atlantic Again. The Full Force of Axis on now pointed Westward
  3. Fall Offensive in the East, Poland is crushed in Two Turns after Warsaw is captured, minimum Germany Losses. West, Belgium and Netherlands Fall in a lighting strike on their Capitol. Denmark DOWed and pinged, down to strength 5 Ireland DOWed by the Allies U-boats Raid 2 seperate Turns
  4. My question about Germany winning and losing always comes down to how many Divisions were pointed Westward ? How valuable would they have been before December of 1941 in breaking through in Russia? hard to say, that's a big front, another Small Army Group may have been all they needed? After USSR Fall who was going to fight the Germans the USA Alone?
  5. Well, Rambo is a hardliner for the American side and we need that, many Americans would rather not get involved, typical old fashioned isolationism. I can't say my foreign policy is soft either. Someone has to do the world's dirty work, and sadly that's the United States. There is no other Nation willing to do what we will do and that will make us look like apes to some, yes, but that's just life. Someone has to keep the well oiled Machine of World Power Flowing in Balance, if not all hell will break loose and some Biblical Armageddon may be upon us. I'm neither Christian nor Muslim, I'm Personal Spiritual and my God/Goddess/Higher Power says that Evil must be purged. That's why I feel so strongly about finishing the job over there, about getting rid of terrorism. Terrorism is a form of warefare is what some people don't seem to get through their thick skulls. So far in the past 4 years it's caused tens of thousands of deaths, collasped Goverments, Destroyed Sky Scrapers, cost Billions<soon to be Trillions>. This is not child's play, if Osama Bin Laden could've my Euro and only foreign friends he planned to poison our water supply, set off our Nuclear Power Plants, cause forest fires to ablaze the entire Nation, etc... That means that if you live in Canada, some of that leakage could fall over, or Mexico and directly effect you. Don't think that after the USA is hit, the next on the agenda won't be Italy-UK-Japan and anyone else who doesn't act like a whiny little girl in the face of terrorism. Check out the Isrealis, they have an awesome system, if you hit us, we hit you. Hamas<sp> is afraid to announce their leaders these days. I live on a Military Base, the 82nd Airborne. The boys off this base are paying their lives, for better or worse for your tomorrow. Be the wise souls that guide them instead of the troubled ones that misguide them into harms way!
  6. Good Question, the general feeling is that we're helping them to create something new. That is what our Goverment wants us to believe. The rest of us feel, can these people take the reigns of Goverment, that is a big question. In that division we're stuck. Stay and attempt to clean up what is partly our mess, or pull out and let the Baby Goverment fend for itself. War is definitely a short term Answer to anything longterm question. Ultimately we can only stay in my opinion and help them Govern themselves until one day a Great Man and a strong will arises to do it for themselves, will it ever happen? I hope so... The Axis of Evil and George Bush's statements are sort of queer and lacking in true SuperPower Fashion. You don't alienate your enemies, you attempt to politically force them to your will if that fails then you try other means. Some things are unacceptable. In my opinion there are many nations that need to be put in Line. Indonesia, Sudan, North Korea, etc... All have committed unforgivable acts of cruelty recently, it's just World Opinion that drives what we do. World Opinion is flakey though, as it was in the Yugoslavian Wars. Immediate Action like that which took place in Cyprus would've worked but that required a WorldWide Effort. We all need to make sacrifices, all the Euros not just France, Belgium and Germany.. "I like this man's little paper project on war, though it's from a wargame. War is the extension of Politics by Brute Force essentially he is saying by famous Authors. To get one side to bend to your will." http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161807
  7. Precisely! And Perhaps the current USA Political administration is incapable of this. Hopefully if there is a new one, they'll do this<our own Goverment may be changed due to Foreign Events just like Spain, in the next few months>.. Working with the World is the #1 Aim. Cooperation towards a common Goal, a safer World for us all.
  8. Qyusson: Sorry but all I can say here is that noone is is doing the job are they? Where is the UN, where is the World Police Force? We're it! I honestly believe the rest of the World are acting weak and afraid and bowing out to terrorists rather than standing up to them. This is exactly what Gave Hitler his Torch, the inability for Men to stand up and fight against Tyranny. Deciding what is good and evil is the only real question! Look at the Yugoslav War, I have family that fought in it. What do you think?? It took forever for the European Community to put an end to that junk, I was angry from day one. It's about time the USA, Japan and Europe started acting and stopped talking. Spain fell like a deck of cards cause politics, that's wrong! Their Internal Security like our own is worthless. If more 911s happen I'm prepared, from the burning of the White House in the war of 1812, to the Lusitania, to Pearl Harbor I believe the USA is equiped for fighting. Every ancestor of mine has fought Tyranny, from Civil War to WW1-WW2.. Even if the end Result wasn't perfect we must try to make a better tomorrow. Doing nothing is the same thing as helping someone commit a crime if you're the witness. I'm sorry but the World has witnessed far too much.
  9. Edwin, percentages to a strategy would be nice. Especially if one Strategy is unstoppable. The AI doesn't take any chances in SC now. Maping out the various Strategies and creating a AI Strategic Move base as you have would be good. Giving them percentages and difficulty levels to perform each action. That way no matter what bonuses the AI has otherwise, it still is smart enough to make an offensive. I will not use AI much in SC2 though, though I know a lot love to.. I prefer Human oponents for a game like SC. It's a simple game, it's Highlight and Joy is real life competition.. The AI for me just a crash test dummy at best. Though I will admit Hubert's AI blocked my few tries. Heh, even the AI whooped my butt
  10. I've lost 2 games out of 10 due to that 10% and forgetting my Russian Reserves Dalmatian. Bad bad thing it is. just always post a few Italians and like Strength 1-3 Corps that were battered in France. Doesn't matter when you put them there after France Falls. You won't forget if you don't move them and make it a habit. Just like forgetting the North Sea Subs, that aches
  11. Breaking away from Oil now, is wishful thinking. Germany, Japan and the USA altogether could likely curb a Majority of it, but someone will always buy their oil if they sell it cheap enough and someone will always sell them Technology to Kill and Arms nomatter what. With the break up of the Soviet Union you've left a Power Vacuum, there are nolonger Great World Powers, there is only one. Syria and Iran haven't the Natural Resources that the others do. Nor do the other Minors in the region. If Saddam would've been allowed to keep Kuwait and then move in on Saudi Arabia he'd of possessed more than what 70% of the Worlds Oil? Do you think a PowerTrip was involved? What about that man strikes you as a bit off? He indentified himself most with Joseph Stalin. The Question comes down to does Syria really care? No! They're not getting up in arms about anything, do they like us? Did they ever? I don't think they much like Christian Nations period. Is The MiddleEast Capable of Waging a World War3? No, not yet at least and likely will never be able to. They lack some of the other qualities that would make a World Power. Their Oil will run out and so will their bank accounts, cause they haven't properly invested in Infrastructure and other areas like Europe and the Americas have, and China and Asia is doing so they'll fall behind in 30 years or so when their oil reserves are out. They're already backwards, and incapable of defeating a Minor State like Isreal, they'd not be even a threat for a nation like China with a Backwards Military. China, or Russia is still the largest Threats with their unstable Goverments. A few Nuclear Devices launched of the Middle East will only bring the Sender their own demise... And then the World Opinion will be unanimous... I agree that the proper technique to disband Iraq's Goverment and to get rid of The Terrorist Threats in the MidEast would be Special OPs CIA, NSA Men, 20-30 thousand Snipers... That is the ideal way, but Operation CleanUp Evil Dictators cannot be all bad.
  12. Look at Saddam's Sons. His nation had major advanced Research in Bio/Chem/Nuclear Weapons. His sons were more unpredictable than him, maybe he would'nt have but they would have. Just like in North Korea! His sons are known Murderers, and Child Rapists, It's a Public Fact. You want them head of a Major MidEast Power that in 20 years is Fully Nuclear Capable? Isreal is a problem, but so far they have more brains than that. Their leaders need to calm down, but I haven't seen the sorta of muderous behavoir from them I have from the Iraqi Goverment or other Regimes there. France may have a ton of Nukes but they're a stable nation, who're they going to fire them at? Joe Blow? WMD was besides the point. Cleaning up that corrupt Regime is worth every penny, They were Criminals, Bruts, Lowlives. Our Politicans aren't perfect but theirs were nothing more than Mafia Hitmen with no Honor or Code. I Suggested in first Gulf War that my Dad Fought in we Finish the job. Bush Senior was lacking.. That's why this problem had to be addressed later. Wussies, our Modern Goverment. Think Russia would've thought second about it? Check them out in in the Caucasus
  13. Okay, that's French. From what I understand a nation like Afganistan is no immediate danger of being a Time Bomb. Would you want Adolf Hitler in Iraq with 20 Nukes? Iran is fastly approaching Nuclear Technology and so was Iraq, it was going to happen, one way or the other and then in mass quantity.. Essentially that is what you had. Whatever you may think The end Result should be good if the Coalition finishes their job. Even if some of their goals and methods are in question, nothing is perfect is it? If the French and Germans would help, and the rest of the world, maybe something could be accomplished faster and in a way that would be more acceptable. We don't have time for extremist Views with our World Interests over there. Oil is the BloodLife of the Modern Era, we cannot afford to let it fall into the hands of Madmen who may potentially blow it all up, blow themselves up, our Allies, cause a WW3 or start a Nuclear War/Winter/Mass Armageddon. If American foreign policy aimed inthat direction I would protest and fight my own Goverment. These people weren't and aren't capable of fighting. The Entire MiddleEast Armies couldn't defeat Isreal in all the passing Wars and would likely have trouble with it now and could've caused WW3 and even now could cause this.. I personally as the head of a Major Power with interests there couldn't turn a blind eye regardless of the bad we do cause, I assure you it's so far less than that which was caused by others if you do not see this then you believe that we censor our press like the extremist Islamic Fundamentalists do. Only publiziing what they feel better supports their Points and Propaganda Agenda. It's all Propaganda, they want Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein, both men that would gladly murder Millions to Rule their Nations then they do not deserve Autonomy. They still should be French, British and English Colonies. They're not evolved enough to be free nor possess anything more than a samurai sword as an advanced weapon which is what they possessed before the French, British, American, Russians and Chinese gave then Missiles, Jets, Tanks, etc... It's too late to go back in history, they've been already infected with our Gold, Technology and ideaology. Most of the educated Muslims come to Western Europe or America to be educated. We cannot deny a need to intergrate, accept, and embrace a future peace, they most also make sacrifices. We have.. The deficit for War could buy every American Social Security by the time we're done, my Nation will have a bunch of old sicky people without Medical coverage or a home to live in because we're alone standing against Evil Tyranny. If you don't think that Saddam was Evil, look at the Figures of the amount he murdered? Was it a Million? How many Iraqis have we murdered liberating them? 20 thousand? 14. Dalmatian: any type of Axis Corps from October: 1 unit on Konisberg, 1 unit on Warsaw, 1 unit N or S of Ajacent Bordering Russian hex and 1 on any other adajcent Russian Border not Romania though. different if France doesn't fall forget those rules
  15. Terif: Sorry to interrupt but a Smart Ally can find Experience for his Carriers aside from Ireland. Plus with bidding, Russia is a Monster, All the West has to do is hit isolated locations sapp a few MPPs here or there. Your strategy advice is sound, but applicable against a good oponent?
  16. Edwin in Civ3, I Know from reading the Forums and the proffessional Civ Players that the Advantages of the AI are basic. HyperTech, Hyper UnitBuilding, More Aggressive, More Productive... I believe also though I don't recall reading that your Dice are more unfavorable in the randomizer. GalaxyCiv sounds like a better form... Civ3 you end up facing Middle Ages units with Ancient Times Units before even the best Civ player who doesn't know how to tweak every game parimeter to get to that level... SC2 would be annoying like this but it's effective. I've only managed to compete with the computer twice on next to Godly Level, I'd never try Godly or Sid level.. Not unless I was myself aware of strategies that can trick the Computer. SCers become so good, they can do this. Incorportating new strategies into the AI and to make it a learning Machine would be hard, some games claim this but I doubt it can be fully implemented. I think your idea about less Linear AI is good.. More Humanlike but still maybe not practical. Hyper AI is likely more effective.
  17. 12 airfleets No wonder! Build 10 Armies, 5 Tanks, 4 Airfleets and 4 Top of the line HQs and you're garaunteed to push any Russian at least up to Riga... Aesopo didn't do bad, staple starting for Axis with the bidding system. I could do better but I doubt I'll beat Terif With 4000 Bid for Russia you're looking at Zhukov with 3 Tanks, and 5-10 Russian Armies Opposing you. Throw in 4-5 more Russian HQs and 10 Corps and you better occuppy those 4 Frontline Cities and Mine within 4-6 Turns or are you're toast! If you don't have LR and didn't kill his first 2 Tanks, and first frontline Armies, it's all over quickly... You gotta Bang Russia, whatever anyone tells you or whatever the Western Allies are doing. You gotta push Russia back half the map and get up to 4 Bar Experience across the board for your Germans... Try Turkey Invasion or Try Protecting Finland with an HQ and higher Tech Airfleets... Push in the Middle too... Ignore D-Day until they're on top of Paris. Then counter attack and Knock em out of France return to Kill of Russia<IMO in the Western Eastern Axis Attack Theory> [ August 15, 2004, 04:49 PM: Message edited by: Liam ]
  18. Dave has an interested way putting his point across as usual .. Civ3 is a perfect example .. You set the Difficulty level higher the AI gets Massive Bonuses akin to Cheating .. Europa Unversalis, same thing, the AI does things no Human can do cause they essentially cheat .. Both AIs can be difficult and in CIV3's case almost impossible to tackle with out more knowledge of the game engine .. EU2 wasn't as complex as CIVs and I Beat it's AI Engine but it's effective enough to create a Challenge that can destroy you if you're not patient .. In this game SC and the new Generation of SC2 I think that you're talkin about letting the AI Cheat, if you really want a good AI.. It is "Bad" We'll be cheating the AI most definitely, though I get peed at the AI in the other games. "IT'S NOT FAIR, you can build 5 Xs the units I can!" "But, it is fair that you're soooo stupid you send them all into attacking a Fortified Unit on a Mountain Top and they die !!"
  19. Ouch! That's what you call a tough campaign so far... Rambo with no heavy losses by now, been in these shoes Sombra, beware the Legend!
  20. Blasy Tech is what makes the game. Just lately Jets have become less important for me. In my last 20 games I've not managed to make jets 'Once'! Even with 3-5 Chits over 2 3 years every single game.
  21. Not to insult but Islamism is that a correct term? The Islamic World Loathes us, yes. That's poor politics, BUT, someone has got to do the job and France and Germany aren't volunteering are they? I don't agree with Bush's Loud War<more covert, more sneaky> that would be ideal.
  22. Pauliva, I think you got a double post on accident. Field Artillery linked in conjunction with Attacking Ground Units would be nice! So first an Artillery barrage then bam Infantry and tank Attacks like history did em. Soften those puppies up first. Artillery was a deadly weapon, though I think they'll include it in the Role of each German unit, not sure as noone has addressed this topic fully. A Pacific Theatre Would be pretty massive. Maybe in an future Release, Like Strategic Command: War in the Pacific.
  23. Rockets can do hellish damage if you can afford them. Once the experience is up on them, on certian fronts they allow for busting the line without taking damage in return. Usually I noticed when I do a poor Allied France, people buy them and train them on London or another location. Otherwise it's difficult to find the time neccessary to get the maximum bang for your buck. Axis have a short time frame to get up other 'techs' that're ten times more vital and units as well. If you are buying Rockets as Axis as a token, I assume you likely feel you've won already. The Key to Spain IMO if you're going in late, is to have at least 1 or 2 German Tanks, surround both her Coastal Cities turn 1 of the invasion and it's over in max 4 Turns with BareBones forces. If the Allies operate in, they're locked in for the the duration. Italians are very poor quality troops, their HQ is almost worthless. Save up and spend those Italian MPPs on something that compliments their Germans. That you had a chance to play Terif Rocks, I haven't in ages. I can't stomp Rambo lately, so I'm likely not up to par to challenge Terif. I find out that with Rambo, I'm not aggressive enough. If you can play MR. Conservative and win with MPPs<usually as Allies> you can beat Rambo as he'll get bored but Terif is a different story. Rambo is very aggressive and he'll eat you alive if you can't adapt strategies... It's best to ignore new strategies unless they kill a lot and play your own style rather trying to win at another's style, unless you're that versatile.. You have to known how to stop 'experience'. You have to know how to 'effectively run an offensive' to beat these top dogs... The rest is hard enough.
