  1. July 13, 1941: Germany reached Lv3 jets. Gibraltar port under attack by italian battleships.
  2. June 15, 1941: Time to move UK air to another place. Nearly all German airfleets appeared in range of London. Germany has now 8 airfleets and 1 bomber.
  3. May 25, 1941: Beirut Axis next turn. Seems to be expensive for Axis to bombard the port. Montgomery is collecting a lot of experience.. .
  4. March 1941: Axis conquers Alexandria. Allies leave Malta. No need to give italian navy some experience. First Germany, then UK reached Lv2 jets.
  5. January 1941: Hungary and Romania have joined. Bergen abandoned. Axis transports along the coast in Egypt.
  6. Liam: It depends on the stage of war and your strategy if it is worth to occupy Brest as Axis. Between France and Barbarossa (2-3 turns earlier) it is usually better to stay away and kill every allied unit that lands in Brest. But near Barbarossa it can be better to occupy Brest to make an early allied landing more difficult. But this depends on the situation.
  7. July 7, 1940: German air + cruiser destroyed a british cruiser. Allies strike back and sink the last german ship. Brest under air attack.
  8. May 12, 1940: Most of the french forces waiting in England for their return. Therefore the line "collapsed" at the end very fast. 2 turns ago all armies were operating to ports . If Allies had stayed longer in France, losses had increased exponentially. Better to go at the right time. Only one french corps left in Paris. Bordeaux and Brest occupied by canadian units.
  9. Turn 6 Allies: The late surrender of Poland increased russian readiness by 9 %. Last german sub destroyed near Brussel. Ireland surrenders.
  10. Turn 5 Allies: The broke through corps got destroyed immediately by the french army .No corps line defence this time. German navy attacks UK battleships at Brussel. No naval losses for Allies (at least this turn..), but one german cruiser destroyed. Second sub in the Atlantic destroyed. Poland still survives and russian readiness is increasing... Malta airfleet appears in London. [ June 30, 2003, 01:03 PM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  11. Turn 4 Allies: Polish forces take the empty Koenigsberg and port. First sub sunk. One french army lost. Heavy ground and air fights in LC.
  12. Turn 3 Allies: France uses its Hq to kill a german army west of Brussel. Warsaw still at full strength and entrenching. 4 corps left. Both subs found in the northwest.
  13. Again Axis gambles and take the risk to operate everything but 5 units +Hg west in the second turn. Chances are good that Poland will hold longer than 4 turns, which means russian readiness would be increasing considerably.
  14. Yes, the war was decided in Sweden/Norway. If Zapp had not operated all airfleets back, he had probably lost. Dividing his forces would have been deadly, then I would have been able to kill one airfleet after the other. When he got LR too, it was over for Allies. In Sweden there was no place to hide or step some hexes back. Therefore he could kill allied airfleets directly there and he had superior numbers after concentrating his forces. Rockets are usefull if air superiority is achieved. If I had attacked Axis highly experienced armies with airfleets, allied airfleets would have lost very very much (expected losses 5-1 in favor of the army). No sense in attacking them with air. Therefore I had to develope rockets. But at that time Axis had already the mpp advantage and there was no chance for Allies any more. Both rockets and air superiority was not possible. But better to try something that fails than to sit on the back and only waiting for the end . I love the battles . [ June 28, 2003, 04:15 PM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  15. This has been a great game. I used a very risky tactic this time, at least against an experienced player . Without italian gambit(house rule ZL) it is very difficult and dangerous to conquer and hold Iraq as Allies. But no risk no fun . Now this has been my first defeat at all. The streak has an end: 193 TCP/IP wins against human opponents (27 of them against Zappsweden )+ some PBEM. I can say: it also makes a lot of fun fighting on the loosing side .
  16. May 11, 1947: Stalemate Victory for Axis. 2 armies and a Hq landed in USA and took a mine. Germany has 3 carriers now. But there would have been enough corps to delay (or kill) them some turns. [ June 28, 2003, 03:31 PM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  17. March 1947: 7 Axis airfleets with LR Lv4 are constantly attacking Timoshenko in his mountain hex in the Caucasus. but he survived the attacks in the last 3 turns. To kill it they need more experience (all was lost in the interception battles before) or 3-4 additional airfleets. Axis only conquers 2-3 hexes each turn, cause they try to kill the Hq.
  18. December 8, 1946: Voronezh lost. For one turn Russia was divided into two parts. But now Russia destroyed an enemy corps and reestablished the connection. [ June 28, 2003, 02:51 PM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  19. German air kills one Hq after the other. Hqs are entrenched in the mountains, but with 15 airfleets Axis still manages to kill one Hq per turn (each strike does 0-1, sometimes 2 damage). Only 3 Hqs left. Ground battles around Voronezh.
  20. November 10, 1946: Now its time for a defence to delay the fall of Russia until the stalemate in mid 1947. It makes also a lot of fun battling against a much stronger force and give a good fight, even if the game cant be won any more.
  21. Liam: Perhaps that was it. But it seems only the number counts, not the relation to Axis. They had three times as much units as Russia at the time they approached Moskov. But now they have reduced russians to only a small amount, less enough to receive Siberians .
