  2. Crikey Tiger, you sure do need a holiday. Take a while, have some R&R... Then... soon you'll be thinkin' about the... jungle. You'll be home and all you can think about is the front... And when your at the front all you can think about is home... No, that's right, that's Martin Sheen... Dammit!!!
  3. Actually I think you might be able to purchase it from Milsims in Victoria, but it would be cheaper and a better deal to buy the CMBB/CMAK bundle pack direct. Yep, Sorry Moon. $99 dollars aus. For that money you can buy the bundle pack direct from BFC and get the newie all home delivered. Support the guys who made the game... [ December 03, 2003, 10:56 AM: Message edited by: Richie ]
  4. True, but a friend who plays on his imac is unable to open bmp files. Whether or not this is a software issue on his mac, I don't know. I see complaints from time to time made by Mac user's about MODs for PC user's only. Are they stored differently for the Mac version's of the game?
  5. Is it true? Are Mac's and PC's using the same files to generate images in CMBB? Rumour has it they are. So MODs good for PC are good for Mac? I started out on a Mac but have moved to the dark side. It's something I've wondered over now and then and I've just been told they both use bmp files. Can it be true? I don't think this is the case with CMBO. Will it be the case with CMAK? Richie
  6. Thanks Brent. I was going to do one myself and release it through Boots & Tracks one day... It's always best when someone else does all the hard yards and thanks very much to them. I can't wait to check it out!
  7. I would really, really love to help out play testing any Red October adaption. Feel free to put me in touch with Mr Kibler if he needs people. Ahh Stalingrad... THE HORROR  (I've always thought The Commissar's House would absolutely rock as a CMBB adaption on the Red Barricades map!) [ November 15, 2003, 08:27 PM: Message edited by: Richie ]
  8. Oh dear... I studied German at high school for a number of years. In 1993 I visited Germany and was amazed at how grateful German people were that I even attempted to converse with them in German rather than English despite how bad my pronunciation was. So ten years later and after a few Brewski's my spelling in German, sadly as it may be, even when checked can sometimes be a little poor. So to all the German folks out there I truly do apologise. I will endeavor to ascertain the correct spelling and emphasis as required despite my sometimes intoxicated state as I try my best to answer erronious questions where I feel I can help No really! It's late here and usually I've had a couple after work. I don't get home till around midnight, so I gets' tired and a couple of Strongbows... well, you know... Back to reality, my information comes from Antony Beevor's account from 'Berlin'. A good read but a bit of a struggle at times. ...oh yeah, Luger... what a slap head hey? 9. According to 'The Last Bid', ASL scenario Red Barricades 5, for the Red Barricades campaign game, on 11 November 1942 the environmental conditions are given as 'wet with no wind at start'. There's no mention of rain or snow. Chances are it was overcast, if not by nature then at least from all the smoke of the massive bombardment beforehand. The AAR for the battle gives the impression it stayed relatively free from adverse weather all day. I'll send the AAR email if you like...
  10. Normally spelling issues are best ignored, but flipping the "i" and "e" in this German word changes it from being a body guard to some kind of love unit You want it to be "Leibstandarte". (Interestingly enough Google reports 548 hits for the mispelt version, versus 9280 for the correct spelling, so it seems to be a common problem for English speakers -- dratted "i before e" rule). This is getting off topic, but there were reportedly problems with the phrase books given to US GIs occupying Germany after the war. Getting the the vowels wrong on the phrase "Halt, oder ich schieße!" would be pretty bad. </font>
  11. My understanding is Adolf Hitler forbade retreating and ordered many 'kessels' that were supposed to be defended to the last man. When Hitler heard Liebstandarte had retreated he even ordered them stripped of their 'Adolf Hitler' cuff titles at one point. I think you're assuming Hitler had touch with reallity...
  12. You gotta hate it when possums chew on the phone lines and dingos eat the repairmen... but those kangaroos... bloody delicious
  13. That sounds excellent. If you could mate... rkrtmh@chariot.net.au Please note the au... I'm happy to be out there batting for the diggers
  14. My phone line's been down for a week But today, with all these new screen shots, I feel like all my birthdays have come at once... 'Wish I Had A Turret'; I think those shermans are going to wish they kept theirs when that Tiger wakes up to what's going on...

  18. BLASPHEMER Come on guy, I can't believe you're saying it either. Too many bones for you Michael and not enough ball? Yeah sure, I wanna play ball too but we want it too be right don't we? You've always gotta sit through some previews at the pictures before the movie starts Pop out to the sweet shop, get yourself another choc coated-rock hard icecream, some pop corn and some jaffas, and a nice BIG fizzy sticky drink. The main feature will be starting before you know it... [ September 16, 2003, 11:10 AM: Message edited by: Richie ]
