  1. Hah, brutal! I guess it's the ultimate big boys toy. I do know what you mean about being too clean, they don't have all the accoutrements one normally sees on a combat vehicle, not even the obligatory log.
  2. Great job! I just noticed that the commander's shoulder is sticking out through the turret side, dammit now I gotta go take a look instead of studying the flora of Poland and Ukraine, ho hum ...
  3. Interesting set John, but some extreme party games - this isn't how I recommend playing Blind-Man's-Buff ...
  4. They're not easy to find for sure, in the editor you can select them by setting the scenario date to minimum of 1st October '44. Then they appear under Heer armoured units as Heavy Panzerjäger Company (Elefant). I don't think they can be purchased individually, probably because they were only ever deployed in their own independent unit. But, of course, if you just want the single vehicle then purchase a company and delete what you don't need.
  5. Ooh yes, never noticed that but now you mention it I can see the dislocated MG in one of my screenies and empty mount in the other, though shadow's still there!
  6. Welcome back! Looks like they're all taking a nap after their exertions!
  7. Haha A+ my friend - peers is more appropriate ...
  8. Well, you beat me to the punch, but at least I can concur - transformer tanks for sure ...
  9. Thank you fellow modders. P.S. @JM Stuff I'll have some notes for you later, just got to write them up properly.
  10. Thanks Slippy. This is how it starts, first I get you addicted to hedgerows, then onto the harder stuff - big fields full of golden wheat, then who knows .. cabbages? Followed of course by world domination ... I think I actually fouled-up slightly with the screen shots this time, I may have had Movie Mode AND ReShade active at the same time, something I try to avoid 'cos they're not the best of bedfellows. For whatever reason the ingame Movie Mode stops some effects from working in ReShade, so I think only the first single image of the Panther at the edge of the woods has the full ReShade bag of tricks applied. Otherwise, yes we can alter the palette quite a bit - this particular set of effects was for a bright, hot, sunny day without sun glasses.
  11. Thanks guys. I am going to try to start work on this at the weekend as I now feel very inspired by all your kind comments, that and the fumes from the paint in the bathroom have gone right to my head.
  12. Okay, so ... as I said, I was futzing about in RT ... There's nothing ready for show time, I've just been seeing how much work would be needed to port a bit of Normandy over to the East. Some of it's a little too green at the moment but it don't look too bad, even with a few stock textures thrown in - potato fields and cabbages. Biggest issues are that it's only going to work for the summer months, all the other seasons have to be made from scratch - anyone know how to clone people. My time is very limited as I'm stuck in the bog at the moment - no not like that, I am proving my worth refurbishing our bathroom, to be followed by much more DIY ... anyway some more screenies to wet your collective whistles ... These pairs are with and without rReShade, but can't remember if I had Movie Mode on ... Playing in the long grass ... Blowin' sh!t up ... Now. it's really really late and I have a ceiling to paint tomorrow ... today ... whatever
  13. Yeah, it just stayed broke until I ended the replay and moved on. I might give it another go now that I know how to make it happen ... methinks a Nebelwerfer barrage should do the trick ...
  14. Many moons ago Rambler created a no Zeltbahn mod for WSS in CMBN, pretty sure it works for other titles as well, maybe with a bit of renaming. Anyway it might be of help and illustrates nicely what Benpark is saying. https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy/cmbn-infantry/cmbn-ramblers-no-ss-zeltbahn-1/
  15. Weirdness ... Futzing about in RT when I noticed a particularly devastating explosion caused by a JgPz IV 70 hitting an SU152. Hit replay to see what was happing to the poor SU, it had basically fallen into a massive crater caused by it's own ammo cooking-off immediately as it was hit by the JgPz IV. Anyway, watched it from a couple of angles and got up close to see where the penetration was since I couldn't see it after the explosion. Paused halfway through the explosion, rewound the turn to the start and I'm stuck in wonky land, hitting play and panning around did not cure this. I had camera shake switched on, so up close to the explosion the camera was all over the place ... guess I broke it. Like being a Batman villain ... Only fix was to hit the big red button
  16. Ahh the 90's, off hand I'm a bit stuck for suggestions as well ... Unforgiven, already mentioned, is the only one I have on my Plex server. Fantastic film, one of Mr Pitt's best efforts, must watch it again
  17. I certainly enjoy one or two as you can probably tell I do like how the genre keeps redefining itself with new twists. I know I missed some more recent favourites, but my brain is a bit addled most evenings ...
  18. In no particular order other than alphabetical: 3:10 to Yuma ('57 original, though remake was not too bad) Bad Day at Black Rock (not strictly a Western though it pretty much is) The Big Country (sublime Gregory Peck classic) Blackthorn (Sam Shepard as retired Butch Cassidy) Broken Trail (Robert Duvall miniseries, great western morality storytelling) Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (Western buddy movie) The Man with No Name trilogy (A Fistful of Dollars; For a Few Dollar More; The Good, the Bad & the Ugly; any of them, preferably all of them, in order, amazing cinema) A Fistful of Dynamite aka Duck, You Sucker (more Leone masterclass stuff) Giant (sprawling) The Gunfighter (Gregory Peck at it again) Hang 'em High (heck, let's just say anything with Mr Eastwood, otherwise I'll be here all night) High Noon (the title says it all) High Plains Drifter (I know, it's Eastwood again, directing himself ... a mythological tale) The Homesman (Tommy Lee Jones, directing himself and Hilary Swank in fantastic western storytelling) How the West Was Won (...by the scenery...) The Long Riders (what the Brat Pack aspired to but never reached) The Missouri Breaks (giants Brando and Nicholson revisionist comic affair) My Darling Clementine (Ford, Fonda ... Wyatt Earp ... need I say more) Never Grow Old (modern take on the classic revenge tale, please let it stop raining ...) Once Upon a Time in the West (Leone directing Fonda ... say what!) Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (no one does gun fights like Peckinpah) The Revenant (sh!t happens and then you get attacked by a bear!) The Searchers (Wayne and Ford at the top of their game) The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (Tommy Lee Jones directs and stars in, amazing directorial debut) True Grit (original, fantastic, Wayne vehicle, or Coen Bros excellent, remake, one of their best films, take your pick) The Wild Bunch (an elegy to the Western, stunning violence, one of the most influential westerns ever made) I know I've forgotten something ...
  19. We need a silhouette chart to learn by rote, like what they used in WW2 for school kids to spot aircraft. Missed out big time; they're thin and a bit synthetic, and the tanks are unrecognisable. I also snagged a TM Christmas jumper last year, trust me when I say don't even think about it. Someone needs to have serious words with the TM marketing dept about quality ...I guess it's all for a good cause though. Ooh yes! I have nice photos of me and the wife with a Sherman tear-assing around the arena in the background. She still reminds me frequently that we went there on HER birthday ... we did visit Thomas Hardy's cottage and had a nice Dorset cream tea as well, a bit of give and take! If you do make it to the UK try to coincide with their Tiger Day when they bring 131 out to play, usually in July I believe.
  20. It used to be that one had to leave the images in the thread for a few weeks - at some point they were sucked up into an archive of some sort and became permanent. This may have changed with recent software upgrades to the forum. Have you tried Imgur or something similar? Sign up is free, they just want your soul, then you can post many images so we'll always know what you are referring to
  21. You could also try ReShade - it's installed into your game folder, once for each game. Runs when the game runs; has customisable screen capture - you can choose your key combo, file type, save location; think it also does video capture but never tried that so YMMV; if you're not interested in the post-processing features those can all be disabled, though having a widescreen mask is kinda cool for screen capture; can also switch it off entirely if you just wanna play; no impact on game play speed if you just run it for screen capture without the post-processing.
  22. Hah, kinda. The cards are an odd mix of everything from the Mk1 to the Abrams with oddities like the Maus thrown in for good measure, bit of something for every era and taste. Personally I was raised on a diet of Airfix kits and plastic truppen, Battle comics, a mad music teacher who was a tankee with the Desert Rats in WW2, and micro tanks, bred to play CM!
  23. Erm, I have to admit to having the Trump Tanks card game as well. Same thought process went into it's purchase, was a stocking filler last Christmas along with a pair of Tank Museum socks ... This game at least had one outing - she says I cheat 'cos I know so much about the tanks already!?! It's a top trumps game (nothing to do with a certain former President), one has to choose a category from the first card of your stack eg speed, armour etc, and blurt it out to which the other player(s) has to say what the first card in their stack has in that category, best wins (trumps), player who wins the hand gets the cards to add to their stack, repeat until one players has all the cards. Maus armour versus British MkI anybody?
