  1. With regard to Russia that's exactly what we should stop doing.
  2. Russia can't be changed. Period. It needs wars and enemies. It's all they have to believe in. Check this news for instance. Why would they do this? Because it makes them feel important. They will NEVER give up. https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2023/02/16/russia-to-lengthen-submarine-patrols-says-norwegian-intel-report/
  3. Exactly. Eventually we all die. Memento mori. ☠
  4. Haha, Chuckdyke, you're priceless. Anyway, I'm out of here.
  5. Well, all I can say is that this is the Germany everybody for centuries asked for. Weak, divided and confused. But when the dust has settled, it will be the Germans who paid most of the bill, not the Poles, not the Finns, not the Dutch, nor any other European country. For me it only confirms that a united Europe is a folly and that we don't have to expect much gratitude from Eastern Europe.
  6. Shame on you, mate. And all who liked your foolish remarks. https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/aussenpolitik/laenderinformationen/ukraine-node/ukraine-solidarity/2513994 'Germany is also the largest contributor to the refinancing fund of the European Peace Facility (EPF), which so far has enabled the provision of 3.1 billion euro from across Europe; these funds are to be made available between 2022 and 2026, to support the delivery of military equipment from EU member states to the Ukrainian armed forces'. Get it? All those so called gifts from several European countries, are mainly paid for by...yes, the Germans.
  7. Interesting article about how Germany sends Leopards and Marders to Slowakia and Greece, in order to enable these country to send their Soviet IFV's to Ukraine. Financial costs for the Germans no doubt. https://www.bundeswehr.de/de/aktuelles/meldungen/ringtausch-ausbildung-griechischer-soldaten-schuetzenpanzer-5582846 That's what I like about Germans. They don't talk all the time, they just do whatever is possible.
  8. Let's not be too cynical. Your country can't complain about the military support the West is providing. The fact that Ukraine is still alive and kicking (back) is proof of that. Apart from that we shouldn't focus too much on those tanks. At the moment they aren't of vital importance. Ammo is much more important. They will become so as soon as Ukraine will start counter offensives again, which will probably be in a couple of months. As much as we like to pretend to know it all on this forum, our leaders aren't as dumb as we think. If they would be, it would tell us more about the people who vote for them, than about their intelligence. There's only one side which profits from all this 'The West let's Ukraine down'-talk.
  9. What I really would like to know is how good the West is in replacing material that's been sent to Ukraine and how much time does it take to produce a Leopard tank and other weapon systems. I expect the production rate will be stunningly slow, but I haven't got a clue. If the production numbers are exceptable, then I'd say we must send all we have at the moment, apart from the absolute minimal we need for our own defence. We can't afford to lose this war. Simple as that. Not only the future of Ukraine is at stake, but that of the whole free world.
  10. https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2023/02/13/when-will-the-war-in-ukraine-end-experts-offer-their-predictions/ Food for thought, especially the munition running out in the West, while China continues to deliver munition to Russia. And other dangers looming.
  11. I'm also looking forward to the Marder IFV. And it's predecessors the Schützenpanzer Lang HS30 and SPz 11-2 Kurz.
  12. Or start sending jet fighters and other offensive weapons to finally convince those bastards we also mean business.
  13. Do you really think we are being kept informed about everything the day it happens? Ukrainian tank crews are being trained for months now, tanks are being bought and prepared for months now. Some of them are probably already in Ukraine.
  14. Both civilian and military. And yes, the wounded are distributed over many European countries.
  15. Ukrainian wounded are already treated all over Europe at this very moment.
  16. https://www.defensenews.com/pentagon/2023/02/10/significantly-degraded-russian-force-is-adapting-after-losses/ https://www.bundeswehr.de/de/aktuelles/meldungen/nachgefragt-gespraeche-zum-ukrainekrieg
  17. Is it possible that the Russians are playing for time by pretending to prepare a major offensive, thus forcing Ukraine to cease it's offensive actions and wait for what will come? On the one hand that will give Ukraine the opportunity to integrate more Western material into their forces and reinforce it's reserves, but it will also give the Russians time to train the recently mobilized recruits, absorb new equipment and replace the losses in men and material, in the meantime launching spoiling attacks to keep the initiative?
  18. Sound thinking too. We have a lot to catch up and perhaps less time than we hope. Ukraine will get all it needs to beat those bastards, of that I'm convinced.
