  1. Wouldn't it be fair to say that Veteran troops would identify their threats better. They don't drop when they shouldn't and do when the should. They also would drop to the ground better than the Greens, they'd be better at spotting little variations in terrain which would offer some protection. I think that Green troops drop to the ground as often as the Vets, except that the vets are still alive when they do so. In a way this can already be recreated with a Human Wave. When properly executed, it is all fun and games, and gets temporarily great results, until you notice the little trail of corpses that it left behind.
  2. Do you mean "Saint War"? The website I posted has it on the second page.
  3. Well according to a Steel Panthers scenario Three Mice were sent to the eastern fron... er part of Germany. But they both broke down and had to be abandoned before they saw any action. Also, wasn't there a Mouse defending some government building in Berlin (only it lacked some vital part that would allow it to move on its own so it was just a giant pillbox).
  4. If only the shells were hitting the actual models... So many problems and oddities would go away.
  5. Sweet home Alabama! Seriously, that must have taken some hefty licensing.
  6. http://sovmusic.km.ru/english/marsh.htm This site has a collection of Soviet propaganda songs and military marches. Some of terrible quality and/or performance, but most of them are of decent transfer. Enjoy.
  7. I thought those assault squads where actually flamer heavy. I liked the way pioneer squads always had a flamer in the squad in Steel Panthers.
  8. My understanding is that the PTRD wasn't available in 41 because the Soviets considered it to be a useless weapon against monstrous German tanks (this is one of the reasons for developing KVs). And they never produced any riffles in great enough quantities, but when the war broke out, it turned out that the Germans had quite a lot of very light tanks that an ATR could destroy with ease, so the PTRD was rushed back into production and service. I think it took them one month to set up 100% production of thing, from scratch (they had to come up with, and make the proper tools, gauges etc).
  9. Actually, I remember the Soviets being portrayed more savage than the Poles. I.E in one episode, one of the tankers was asked to support defending soviet infantry, I think they entrenched the tank, and he took the bow MG out of it. Anyways, he was next to a Sharp shooter in a trench (The Russians were definitely of different coloration), the Germans are attacking, the Sharp shooter carefully aims his dirty riffle (the tanker notices rough notches on the stock), and kills a German officer. The sniper is ecstatic, pulls out his bayonet, and proceeds to hack away at his stock to make another notch, right in the middle of the battle. The tanker looks at him in shock, then looks at his perfectly oiled MG, and lovingly pets the lacquered stock.
  10. You wouldn't happen to have that one Byelorussian movie, that got banz0red when it first came out. It's about a Byelorussian hiwi (gasp!) who defects back to the partisans. And they decide to use him to infiltrate a train station, instead of just killing him. It was called Road Check, or Road Block or something. I too am interested! Particularly in that Polish series.
  11. The reload time should be around 15 minutes, not 2.
  12. Does the game account for turret shapes? Looking at the 34, it looks like about 50% of incoming shots should be landing at the sides of the turret at odd angles, rather than the vulnerable front. The problem might be that the game does not see the intricacies of T-34's sloped armor.
  13. Some heavies were brought over to the other side after the encirclement.
  14. Aren't the Bofors, and 37mm the same thing? Soviets copied the Bofors and made their 37, Germans like the soviet 37 and copied it.
  15. Unfortunately I don't have a Cyrillic keyboard to write those phrases in Russian. A simple program could be written to sort them alphabetically, but whatever little programming I knew, has been long forgotten.
  16. Actually, that is a very rough translation of svolochi. Back in the day all the garbage from a city would be somehow dragged to a landfill type of deal. Well that pile of garbage was known as svoloch. Which is kind of like making a noun from a verb (which I guess can roughly be translated as has been dragged).
