  1. Former duck here,,,,can't wait! Especially so that I can pop my snooty old Nazi (I went to Princeton!) Calculus professor..thanks! SgtAbell
  2. Bumpety Bumpety,,,in fact I would post this exploit on the CMBB forum to get noticed. SgtAbell
  3. I posted a thread a while ago about the subject. A large amount of 20mm ammo being fired into the slit seems to be more effective in neutralizing the bunker. SgtAbell
  4. Thanks for your time and effort on a very classy site! SgtAbell
  5. Hi all, Playing an email game with a new person joining the fold. His email takes the attachment and makes jibberish in the email, (I recall the old days when you needed a translator or something, uuencode thingie?) I don't remember the work around on this and would appreciate any help. SgtAbell
  6. Use my Tiger Tiger solution,,,Spoiler follows... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fire my boy, fire. Whatever JasonC's grog complaints , I managed to knock out one Tiger, disabled 2 others in the scenario Tiger Tiger. However, my opponent brought them near enough for it to be possible. The ampoulement is about as game imbalancing as the KV tank is at the beginning of the war. I managed to catch 2 of the Tigers where 2-3 ampoulements could rain down on it using a spotter/just out of line of sight of the tank. Also remember though, killing the Tiger's gun is as good as a knockout anyday, and enough rounds will eventually track or de-gun it. SgtAbell
  7. At this point the following seems like a dumb question, but here goes. Does a sharpshooter have an inherent better ability to hide, or is it due to his only being a single unit? In other words, would a squad, who somehow, wasn't broken, that got down to one man, with the same rank, have the same ability to hide. The reason this is important to me is, is it worth it to have a commander, with stealth bonus, in the area of the sniper, but thus risking discovery due to the fact that a command unit will have 3+ people, offsetting the stealth of the sharpshooter? 8. Hello all, Not sure if this is the correct place for this, editors/moderators, please move if not appropriate. I was wondering who here plays WWII Online? If so, I would like to get together and play as a group, nothing formal, but it's much more fun that way. The bugs have been worked out, the effects, especially sound and some of the crash/explosions have gotten better. Let me know if you are interested at all. SgtAbell
  9. Hey all, Something I noticed. I won't go into specifics, but want to know what the grogs think. Using Biltong's Awesome Rules for Grog Wannabes, I was performing an attack. I ran across a fortification, (75 mm gun I believe, concrete), and noticed that my IIc did a fantastic job of getting slit penetration. Obviously this is due to number of shells in a firing, vs. the other two tanks that were firing at it. I went back and replayed the turn, and set up something with scenario editor. So I know this is due to high number of shells hitting the slit, and is there any evidence to this actually being a technique which was found to be useful? SgtAbell
  10. Madison, Wisconsin, USA Damn,,,am I the only one in Wisconsin? I have to say it would be cool to get a master list and have a get together or sumfink in the Midwest. SgtAbell
  11. It's kinda funny, I almost said to myself, "yes, I too have seen that very thing,,,,!) Then, as in every instance before, I have taken into account all things on the battlefield and in the game and realize...da boyz dat made dis game got their poop in a group. Account for the book. (temp. vs. crew experience) Account for the fact that even if your tank is stopped, and has orders to move, will make difference. Rotation is an unknown quantity. (I watch the turrets turn, stop, fire, turn some more. I would assume this kills accuracy. Bracketing # of shots. A unit only "remembers" a targeted unit for a short time, so if an enemy is out of view for 15 or more seconds, it may take time to re-bracket. Shell type and velocity? (I assume if you have a lower velocity shell, that it becomes an issue). Playing WWIIOnline, some carriages seem more stable than others during and after fire. (I am not sure how it is modeled). (To all, please correct any of my false assumptions, as I am a grog wannabe/willneverbe at this point). SgtAbell
  12. I can't remember the name of the handle of the person who created the rule set to do this. (fiona or something?) It goes something like you can only use tab to lock onto unit. If a unit has binocs, you can use 2x magnification, 4x for optics in vehicles. You can only use the select next unit (+/-) to move between units. If you have units in buildings you can use setting 2 for view, 3 if you are in a second floor. It is only about 2-3 pages, however...... You will make a large quantum leap in your skill. I got so annoyed at first using it, but then when I did use it, I never came away with less than total victory against small unit ops against the AI. In fact, if I had to do it all over again, I would have played my ROWIII turns using this technique. Now, when against an opponent you trust, it would be the ultimate game, and my hope is that there is going to be a way to lock a game into this mode in future releases by this company. I can't tell you how much more real, and how much your play will improve if you do this. Try it with scenarios you have played, like the first small one with CMBB, (partisan type action at the top of the list). SgtAbell
  13. For all my opponents, I have not reported our results. (I did but didn't give full and complete info). I will be doing it this week, sorry for the delay, and I am on it! SgtAbell
  14. PLEASE!!!!! How can I make a movie please!!! Please!!! Oh,,I have saved games for that very reason,,I have tons of friends to bore silly, including my wife. I am very serious, I would love to make a movie from some battles I have saved. SgtAbell
  15. I have played through 5-6 battles, 4 with the current rule set. My question/comment is about Allied/Axis Counterattack situations. First, I realize one can change the rules, adapt to make fit, etc...so take this with a grain of salt due to my inexperience and the possibility that I am playing late at night! It would seem to me that the Task Force composition should be the same? (I realize that to make the game fun, it is cool to change up). Did I miss something on this one? If and attached unit is destroyed, my assumption is that it is not reinforced, (or under Allied Counter Attack situations?) Why the limitation on the 3 units for Attached units? (I know, I know, if I don't like it I can change it), but was wondering if it was a game balance thingie? On a lighter note,,,holy cow am I learning alot about capabilities. Thanks for everyone's efforts! Michael
  16. Back to the concept of prisoners... So it is safe to say that if one wins a total victory, those who are captured are considered part of the count,,,,If this is the case, then a total victory should result in almost always gaining 50 points of favor? (in other words those who are captured at the end count towards victory? SgtAbell
  17. Quick question. On the favor sheet, under Enemy units, under Prisoners, there are headings of 1St and Theraft. What are these? Thanks, SgtAbell
  18. Remember a couple of other hand held weapons which do wayyyy more immediate damage.... Entrenching Tool Way better than the bayonet. Clubbin and cutting damage. Remember the goal is to stop the attacker. A bayonet causes you to bleed to death, after about a minute. The helmet Felt to be useless by most grunts anyways. The rifle as a club. Rocks and sticks...back to basics... SgtAbell
  19. Kingfish, I sent you an email about Jeb, I haven't heard from him or you, anything...Bueller,,,anyone?? Thanks for your work on the tourney! Michael
  20. Congratulations! You guys deserve everything you have been getting lately for all your hard work. SgtAbell
  21. Version 1.01 vs. 1.02 Issues To all or Kingfish? Can I assume that phase two of the tourney will be played at version 1.02? If not, why not. I would like to upgrade as soon as possible to the new version, and really don't want to wait until the end of the tourney to upgrade. What do you think? SgtAbell
  22. To all, I am kind of ticked at the extension of the deadline. The reason being was that the rules were set up at the beginning of this, and I put alot of time in, as the first replacement, to get games done on time. However, since this has been a bumpy road, with Treeburst running away with no thought to what the result would be, (I am pissed that there has been no contact from him to the group), I can understand the need for the delay. I would appreciate for the rest of the tourney that we stick to the timeline. In closing, I realize this is supposed to be fun, and it has been. I have never worked so hard to win at CMBO or CMBB. So please anyone, don't take this as a criticism, I am just venting. SgtAbell
  23. Here it is from a couple points.... Diesel turned to jelly in extreme cold temps. Diesel is a cheaper fuel, as the distillation process requires less time and energy. Lower operating temperatures, less stress on lower quality metals which are used. No spark plugs, when you compress diesel fast, it explodes, and thus keeps running the engine. (Thus the term "cranking it over" like I have had to do on older tractors). I do wonder if part of the reason that Americans made them to be gas engines was due to the refitting of car plants, with our technology and tools being aligned that way. SgtAbell
  24. Update from my section: Section 2 (from SgtAbell perspective) Rear Guard Frunze 30 out of 40 Debrecen Jeb 24 out of 28 Xmas John_L 17 out of 38 (I'mmmm waiting.... Hoz Tero 22 out of 25 Beast JohnKettler (well,, you know...) SgtAbell
  25. Indust and Juju, It's da walls dudes. Some scenario creators have used factories in the middle to allow one to get through a block, however, check closely when you pull your move line through a wall, you will see it turn red. SgtAbell
