  1. Weirdly, I was just having a good time at the bar (spending >100 euros), and it's a weekday. Well, that's nothing. At least compared to Sergei's usual parties, or somefink.
  2. Okay, after reading the article about "munkkis" (doughnuts), it turns out that the person on the picture above, is a military band member. EDIT 1: Ach, no he is not.. His insignia is wrong, because the article states that he is a military driver. Where is the wheel badge? [ November 21, 2005, 10:14 AM: Message edited by: SSgt Viljuri ]
  3. A company clerk! No wonder he is at "Sode" first. Truly humorous topic about that recoilless rifle article, namely, "Musti: vahva, miehinen ja mahtava ampua". Intentional comedy , perhaps! A rough literal translation: "The 95 S 58 heavy recoilless rifle: robust, macho and magnificent to shoot". Absolutely priceless.
  4. Hardly surprising, tell something that isn't "old news", fella!

Notwithstanding the fact that the oncoming car in question happens to be not insured or not? Should a clear stupity and indefference be rewarded in a customary internatinal law's praxis? The whole argument relies on semantic "poppycock", I think. Especially compared to the lesser-known happenings at Grozny.
  6. Can't be. PKarPr is surely the last to dismantle obsolete weapons systems in the whole FDF... *sigh* You must be talking about some local troops (units not officially part of FDF's organisation). You know, even local frontier jaeger companies ( "paikalliset sissikomppaniat", ei tule käyttää termiä "guerilla", PE:n suositus) are part of the FDF's wartime organisation, so we go pretty to close to civilian defence or somefink... I mean those "kohdesuoja" (second or tertiary) reserve units, which are largerly consisted of men aged 40+ (voluntary), who are not that much interested of military but rather any excuse to flee from their wifes...
  7. Sergei wrote: I think this is a common misconception. Actually A.F Airo was our secret asset, who would have been called for duty as our C-in-C, way up to the 1960s... Now there's an interesting history tidbit, If you ever encouter one. (And that hidden skeleton wasn't Mannerheim's, it was his horse's)
  8. Well, "Mustis" are weapons of the past. Just like 75Paks. Besides, the German-Dutch-Finnish ERRF is in a stand-by status in 2007, not the miserable Scandinavian surrendering one, URC...
  9. There should be no Finnish UN forces, you fools, run! All our forces belong to the EU or the NATO. If you don't believe, have a second check, would you?
  10. Peter! You should check what the ERRF concept consist of! Just a friendly suggestion...
  11. How long can you go on, both honourable Mr. Salt and Sergei. The point has been quite clear now, and your continued messaging habits haven't offered any more factual arguments, I think. I will not offer any opinions about your vexed question, since it should be clear to any objective observer already. Have a nice day...
  12. Another jolly sing-song in a spirit of Seanachai Vainamoinen, old magician, ancient sage, steered the boat toward shore, docked it at the jetty. Ilmarinen, great smith, eternal artisan, leaped from the boat, jumped to the pier. The red boat rocked, the sea birds flocked. Said Ilmarinen, “Old comrade! We’ve lost the two fine gifts, the things never seen before. Gone is the kantele, gone is the sampo. We come home now with nothing!” But Vainamoinen wept and sang, Another kantele can be made. Another sampo might be forged. But who can make a woman’s warmth? And who can forge a maiden’s love?
  13. Incendiary weapons are among the FDF's arsenal too, Sergei. And I'm not talking about incineration pine cones... Maybe a next pet project for Tarja et al to ban?
  14. No women for frontline duty. Unit cohesion and fighting spirit are much more important when live ammunition is flying or the IEDs going off. With women present, you tend to have too much on your mind. Heck, even during reserve rehearses when I spot a female soldier (i.e not those just assigned in supporting duties, like nurses), I feel distracted. Dunno about real combat situations...
  15. Will pixilated camouflages (CADPAT, MARPAT, ARPAT and FINNISH M/05) give an edge to the rest of the world's ordinary camouflages? Like to Sweden's ordinary M/90? Just asking...
  16. Well, to be honest it's only +6 degrees of centigrade at this precise moment (1:39 am) where I live (Helsinki, Finland).
  17. Weirdly enough, I was almost certain I saw my father driving his Opel Omega on that webcam pic of yours, Sergei. Eerie feeling or somefink... Btw, YLE text-tv says +10 centigrade for Helsinki and Channel Four promised more yesterday. Hm, they have tuned their forecasts lower, but the point still stands. The winter has not begun. Normally we get snow in late december or early january.
  18. It's worth of noting that it is going to be well above +10 degrees of centigrade in Helsinki tomorrow. As such, those far northern latitudes, where some Finns live, doesn't represent Finland very well. It's like somebody from a city of Yellowknife (Northwest Territories, Canada) would say something about the current weather in Canada based on his own observations at home.
  19. M Hofbauer wrote: Typical intel work. Can't they just compile their findings from the local papers and not just make this up! Darn.
  20. Thanks to Grog Dorosh, the Flames lost 4-1 again. I think he has jinxed the team. You better get him post that 20.000th post or else the Flames loosing habits will continue.
  21. Snow Leopard wrote: Not just us, but the Swedes too. You never know about the dang Norwegians. Last time our intel got grip about them they were experimenting on Killer Attack Whales and not just on any Killer Attack Whales, but specimens with fricking lasers on their heads!
