Pure bliss ........... Sorry to have to say that once this is released the only mods i'll use will have to be CMMOS compatible. It was just too damn good not to use on CMBO - cant see that changing. Gunslinger - what are the chances your mega-mod will make it into CMMOS4 ?? Lou2000

How do you take a screen shot in game??
Lou2000 replied to MasterGoodale's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Im sure that what Pacestick meant to say was that he has found that 'WORDPAD' works pretty well on a Windows PC. Just press 'Print Screen' - open up a graphics packeage or wordpad, or MS word and paste. As for the MAC version .... not sure how you'd go about it, but im sure there must be some MAC freeware screengrab software out there on the net. I use one for windows that allows a variety of grab modes (area, window, full screen etc) Lou2000 -

Glad to have been of help .... just going to get a copy now  Tracer - If you have any future mods that you want checking ..... (pink-bits plus general feedback) .... before you release it, then just email them to me (address in profile) and i'll load em up. File size isnt too much of a problem as im on ADLS. ....though not if you ever roll out a mod as big as 'gunslingers' new mod (over 250megs) Lou2000

A new way to play CM as a solo player
Lou2000 replied to James's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Dont wishing to post a 'patch/cm3 wishlist' .... But i think this mode of play would work there was a feature whereby the AI controlled a percentage of each side (say 25%/50&/75%) and the remainder were under human control. It would also add quite a bit of unpredictability to single/multiplayer games .... you would have to control your units as best as you could whilst there are other actions taking place that you have no control over ... however you could provide cover/support etc. It could also reduce 'borg spotting' if you only see enemy detected my your units, or those spotted by units you are in radio contact with. Did i explain that right .... or do i need another 'wake-up coffee' Lou2000 -
I had a dream last night about CMBB
Lou2000 replied to MasterGoodale's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
MasterGoodale ............ Dont take it too personally. If you have questions about CMBB gameplay, mods, tactics etc - post em, people will gladly reply. Even noobie questions...Your particular questions have probably been asked before ! There are some good people on this forum and (IMHO) its just that the number of posts on this forum mean the more relevant posts soon slip off the first (and even second) page and need a bump to get them back. I think you may have this mistaken with something else ... Kazaa isnt a 'site' its a peer-2-peer network. Im going to search on Kazaa later on today ... If its still available it should start to appear .. it takes a little while for a new file to propagate through the network. I dont think the Usenet idea will work for this mod due to its size. FAO. Gunslinger - Update on webspace .... the ISP who offer me unlimited webspace, limit the bandwidth and the ISP who offer unlimited bandwidth will only offer a usless 20mb webspace. With your mod at 250megs .... im stuck, cant help. Sorry ! ... (why does life do thing like that !) Lou2000 -
A Modest(?) Proposal: Airpower and CM
Lou2000 replied to Michael Emrys's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I like the idea of the 'bomb-line' but would also like to be able to call some limit on when the air attacks can take place - though nothing too defined. Perhaps something along the lines of: 'No air attacks before move#' or 'No air attacks after move #' Perhaps with a computer defined +/- to keep some unpredictability in air use. This would be defined during the setup phase, so a player couldnt just say "I want it now !" Use of this would allow a player some way of avoiding a 'blue-on-blue'. Each time i use aircraft they always seem to appear in the first couple of turns ... i'd like to be able to hold them back, as a little surprise ......especially in a long ME. Well it's only my thoughts ... probably never see it but i can wish ! Lou2000 -
Well Guess Who's Coming back Into Modding? ;)
Lou2000 replied to GunMod's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Still remember you .... im still using yr mods ! Cant wait to see the new batch Lou2000 -
Just read this thread from about 4 weeks ago regarding aircraft in CMBB.... Airpower thread ...Im currently playing a PBEM and chose aircraft for the first time ... 2 x Hs-129's and had some good results with them ... 3 x KV-1 kills in a single run !!! Was this just lucky, or typical ? (I should mention that my opponent didnt bring any AA to the party, so they are pretty safe.) Also just watching the areas the A/C attacked provides a good indication as to where certain troop concentrations are. Just interested in other players experiences using aircraft - makes a change from tanks Lou2000

I tried the anti-censorship loader on teh UK cdv version & WinXP. It loaded and worked once. After that i still get the two beeps to tell me its active, but no change to the game. Also when closing I get some desktop graphics problems. So uninstalled it. Not tried it again ... anybody else had problems and if so did you get it working again ?? Thanks Lou2000
