Anyone know the actual makeup of KG Peiper?
Tom TCMHQ replied to vondeath's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Nope , only a part of the Kampfgruppe was encircled at LaGleize. Other units fight elswhere , were destroyed before or didn´t make it to the frontline. The book " Ardennes - Then and Now " gives a good account of what was found at LaGleize after Peipers men were evacuated: 6 x Tiger II , 13 x Panther , 6 x PzKw IV and more than 60 misc. vehicles ( SdKfz 251 etc. ).Only 1200 - 2000 SS soldiers of the KG were involved in the LaGleize fightings. Has somebody the concrete numbers ? ". Cheers Tom -

Downloads at Tom's...
Tom TCMHQ replied to Pascal DI FOLCO's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Gentlemen , Currently all downloads from my site work fine ..as long as you don´t use a download accelerator ( this leads to the " no anonymus login allowed " warning ! ). BTW: I second Scotts statement about MGO. Their support is outstanding and I am very thankfull for their generous offer to host my site and their great help to get things running. Please keep in mind that MGO and TCMHQ offer a FREE service with no commercial pop-ups and banner stuff. In these days it´s nearly impossible to find something like that. And - sorry - I am not willing to spent hundreds of dollars each year for a commercial solution ( ask Manx about that ). Cheers Tom P.S.: Thanks for the offers to mirror some of the mods in case of emergency. I will contact you concerning this tomorrow. -
Haven´t tested the " big " scenarios ( my PIII500 can´t handle these ) I am so far through with the small/medium ones. " Jaegermeister " was a blast , but I spoiled most the fun since I choosed to play the Germans. The scenario description should mention that you HAVE to play the Russians here. Another fun scenario was the Russian tank attack on the railway station ( can´t remember the name ). Cheers Tom

Pigdog , Oops there was one little " / " missing in my html code  Problem is fixed now. Cheers Tom

GJK , unfortunately the MGO FTP servers don´t allow the use of download accelerators like modzilla , get right etc. BTW: the admins made some technical changes on the servers which caused download problems during the last days. Hope these are resolved today. Cheers Tom

Get yer Bunkers and Factories at Tom's!
Tom TCMHQ replied to Juju's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Gentlemen , there is a temporary problem with the MGO FTP Servers ( other sites hosted by MGO suffer from the same problem ) I have contacted the MGO admin , so I hope the problem will be solved during the next 24 hours. Concerning the JAVA problem: I will exchange the JAVA navigation with a FLASH menue during the next days , but I wonder why a simple aplett like this can be blocked by a firewall. Never heard someting like that during the last 2 years. Stay tuned Tom -
Garry , State of the Art ! ...as expected Cheers Tom " Applaus ist das Brot des Kuenstlers " ( Can somone translate this for Garry ? )

Two new " classic " scenarios available at TCMHQ
Tom TCMHQ replied to Tom TCMHQ's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Ok , Russian army reporting: lost two of my advancing T-34 to a Stug in perfect hulldown position , but took revenge later on. The russian MGs and mortars in the little wood pinned down any kind of German advance to the church and my remaining tanks finished the job. The most crucial point of the battle was a German all-out attack against the single building near the wheatfield , but as I said : MGs can do miracles in CMBB Anyway: lost my third battle against the Russian AI in " Valley of trouble " Cheers Tom P.S.: More CMBO to CMBB classics coming soon ( " The last defence " is 90% done ). -

Modders of all countries unite!!!
Tom TCMHQ replied to Scipio's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Scipio , Good idea , but don´t you think CM Outpost will deliver the same service ? Anyhow , I support the idea of such mod cataloges as long as the webmaster doesn´t link direct to the files or makes links to single frames (!). Unfortunatly I can´t contact the webmaster of this website , since there is no name or mail adress visible. So Patrick , if you read this lines: great site layout , a fine idea , but please change the given link(s) to my site to www.militarygameronline.com/TCMHQ Thanks in advance Tom -

Two new " classic " scenarios available at TCMHQ
Tom TCMHQ replied to Tom TCMHQ's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
A public battle would is a nice idea ... I would love to hear if one of the CM cracks can win VOT CMBB as the Germans. I knew the setup , I knew the forces and was slaughtered by the Russian AI twice ... the usual CMBO tactics didn´t work here. Cheers Tom -

Anybody remembers THAT CHURCH in the middle Didn´t we see that beautiful village before ? Even If you - like me - played both scenarios more than 50 times in CMBB .. be assured the battles play different in CMBB ! You can download the new stuff from the " 1941 " and " 1945 " scenario pages on my website. Cheers Tom

Juju´s " MODSLUT " Project....now at TCMHQ
Tom TCMHQ replied to Tom TCMHQ's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Derfel and Mr. Die Easy the download problem was caused by faulty links. Problem is fixed. Concerning non-framed pages: to make a long story short .. I will probably add these during the next weeks ( even if only 5% (!) of all visitors accessed the site this way in the last 2 years...)
