  1. Gentlemen , Me and my family will spend 2 days in Arnhem at the start of August. Our main target will be Burgers Zoopark ( a MUST SEE ! ), but I am also interested in visiting places connected to " Market Garden " ( the Allied Airborne Museum is on the list ). Are there more places of interest ? Any help is appriciated. Cheers Tom
  2. On no.... just wondering how to explain THIS to my wife ( " Sweetheart I got good news for you. I wont´t play around with all those Shermans and Yanks this autumn because in September ...ehmmm , uhmmmm ... well.... ) Cheers Tom
  3. Gentlemen, some more goodies for the modsluts: 1.) Andrew Fox has released version 2.0 of his splendid " Axis Uniforms Super Action Pack " ( including summer- and winter uniforms for Heer , Fallschirmjaeger , SS and Volkssturm ). 2.) Michael Stewart did a superb hires version of Mike8G´s well known faces mod ( more toned down impression , new highlights , shadows of the helmets added etc. ) 3.) Marcus Bloess and Gordon Molek designed a winterized version of the SDKFZ 7 Gun Tractor. Enjoy...and have a nice weekend. Cheers Tom [ July 06, 2002, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: Tom TCMHQ ]
  4. Gentlemen, the " Comet " - together with some more goodies - can be downloaded from the TCMHQ website. I fear you have to enter the site via the non-framed pages since my provider has some serious problems with the server  , anyhow , the downloads should work fine. Cheers Tom P.S.: Great job Andrew !!!!
  5. All quiet on the Western Front ? Mhh...don´t think so: - New Marder II by Tarkus - New Tiger by Marcus Bloess - New Axis uniforms by JM Gottwald - New CM Interfaces by Tarkus , Sharpshooter and Mr. Dorosh. - New add-on´s for the Ardennes 1944 mod - New " Street Fighting Mod " Soon... if the damned server will be up again Cheers Tom
  6. Hi all, I will try to post JM´s new Axis Uniform set AND Tarkus Interface ( together with several other surprises ! ) this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed , because I have to redesign several parts of my website.... Cheers Tom [ May 24, 2002, 04:27 PM: Message edited by: Tom TCMHQ ]
  7. Hi all, some eye candy ( at least I hope so ) for your CM: Start screen showing US troops at the Remagen Bridge ( new buttons & wallpaper included ) Start screen showing " Kampfgruppe Peiper " in the Ardennes ( new buttons & wallpaper included ) New " wood & iron " selection screen under construction ( I currently plan to exchange all CM menu elements like pics , buttons etc. with something different ) The Splash Screens can be found on the " Goodies " section of my website. BTW: before there is a missunderstanding: I am NOT the artist who did the original paintings ( the pics were found via a Google pic search and seem to be very popular among wargaming websites ). Now I am looking for some British , French or Canadian WWII 44/45 motives that could serve as a base for more new CM screens. Any ideas ? Cheers Tom
  8. Thanks to all of you , there are some valid points , so I will rethink some of the phrases. BTW: " Gefingerpoken " should be in , but my favorite is the " deadly German joke " somebody posted a few month ago ( can´t find it ...anyone remembers ? I REALLLLY LMAO ) Cheers Tom
  10. Gentlemen, I am helping Tarkus to design a German version of his new CM interface and need some support. To all the grogs out there: does my current translation fit ? Any more suggestions ? 1000.bmp = Turn of ( Zug von ) Morale ( Moral ) Victory ( Sieg ) Hotkeys ( Hotkeys , because everyone knows what it means and " Tastaturkürzel " doesn´t fit into the bmp 1002.bmp = Attacker ( Angreifer ) 1003.bmp = Defender ( Verteidiger ) 1030.bmp = Conscript ( Frischling ) or ( Rekrut ) 1031.bmp = Green ( Rekrut ) or ( Grünschnabel ) 1032.bmp = Regular ( Regulär ) 1033.bmp = Veteran ( Veteran ) 1034.bmp = Crack ( Frontschwein ) 1035.bmp = Elite ( Elite ) 1040.bmp = Rested ( ausgeruht ) 1041.bmp = Ready ( fertig ) or ( einsatzbereit ) 1042.bmp = Tired ( ermüdet ) 1043.bmp = Weary ( erschöpft ) 1044.bmp = Exhausted ( abgekämpft ) 1047.bmp = Abadonned ( verlassen ) or ( aufgegeben ) 1048.bmp = Gun damaged ( Geschütz beschädigt ) 1049.bmp = knocked out ( zerstört ) 1050.bmp = hiding ( in Deckung ) or ( versteckt ) 1051.bmp = Delay ( Verzögerung ) 1052.bmp = taking cover( geht in Deckung ) 1060.bmp = in: ( Standort: ) 1061.bmp = moving in ( bewegt sich Richtung ) 1062.bmp = immobile ( fahruntüchtig ) 1063.bmp = bogged ( festgefahren ) 1071.bmp = alerted ( alarmiert ) 1072.bmp = cautious ( vorsichtig ) 1073.bmp = shaken ( erschüttert ) 1074.bmp = pinned ( niedergehalten ) 1075.bmp = panic ( panisch ) 1076.bmp = broken ( aufgelöst ) 1077.bmp = routed ( auf der Flucht ) or ( flüchtend ) 1080.bmp = embarking ( besteigen ) or ( bemannen ) 1081.bmp = Passenger ( Passagier ) 1085.bmp = captured ( gefangen ) 1086.bmp = unarmed ( unbewaffnet ) 1087.bmp = sound contact ( Geräuschquelle ) or ( Soundkontakt ) 1088.bmp = buttoned ( Turmlukd zu ) unbuttoned = ( Turmluke auf ) 1089.bmp = reloading ( lädt nach ) Thanks in advance Tom
  11. It´s impossible that the Bulge mod can change your summer/fall water since there are different water bitmaps for winter - and non winter scenarios. I have a similar effect if I use too much hires mods with my graphic card ( white lines at the junctions of the tiles ). Maybe a VRAM problem ? Cheers Tom
  12. Gentlemen, VERY GOOD IDEA ! I´ll include a batch file to the BoB zip that will rename the files automatically. Cheers Tom
  13. Hi Marcus , please send me a copy...looks GREAT ! BTW: which grass are you using ...oops...I mean WHO did this King Tiger in the background ??? BTW: was wird aus unserem CM Treffen ??? Gruß Tom
  14. Gentleman, some more infos about Tomasz Danilowicz and his stunning work: The MOD is based on a 3D rendering of a "Tiger" he made in 3 D Studio Max.All textures were done with Photoshop. To see more of his virtual arts, go to www.g-r-a-a-l.com. BTW: I did some alternative versions on this great Tiger ( without touching the original concept ). On the pic above you see 1.) The original artwork by Tomasz 2.) A more softened and subdued version for darker/toned down CM battlefields. 3.) A winterized version. All files can be found on the " Axis Armor " mod page on the TCMHQ website. Cheers Tom [ May 15, 2002, 05:38 PM: Message edited by: Tom TCMHQ ]
  15. Thanks for the links ( I really like the russian anthem ) , but that was definitly NOT the song I was looking for. IIRC it was more a kind of of melodramatic classic chorus type tune. Cheers Tom
  16. Gentlemen, anybody remembers the title ( and the given download link ) to that great russian WWII anthem posted here several weeks ago ? " Search " did´nt help.... Cheers Tom
  17. Bruno . the mod is 99% done...but I still have to do some real life issues at the moment. I hope the fine tuning will be finished next week ( together with all the other stuff that should be on my website... street fighting mod , fountains , veg fields etc. ) Cheers Tom
  18. Ted , is this the terrible German killing joke everybody´s talking about ???? BTW: IT WORKS .. ILMAO .... ( best Bablefish translation ever ) " Deutsche: Hallo dort Völker, heute habe ich " 6! ", ja " 6! Special thanks to SuperTed and Chris Lange! Trent "WvG"" CHeers Tom
  19. Gentlemen, I´m currently working on a new " Street Fightin´ " mod featuring new paved roads , city pavements and some more nice goodies... stay tuned. Cheers Tom [ April 09, 2002, 05:21 AM: Message edited by: Tom TCMHQ ]
  20. Rex_Bellator, ahhh... the 613.bmp mystery. Simply copy the file 613.bmp from the CMBO bmp folder into your hd cm/bmp folder to reinstall the original setting. BTW: it´s all explained in the readme.txt file that comes with the Bob mod. Cheers Tom
  21. Hi Murpes, looks great ! I would be honored to include this masterpiece into the BoB zip. I´f you´d like the idea send the file to tcmhq@nexgo.de.( BTW: my mail provider allows only attachements up to 2 MB.... ) Cheers Tom BTW: the solution with the blury lowres snow is quite simple: I´ve got a crappy old PIII 500 Mhz PC with a more crappy 3D graphic card. Most of the shiny hires terrain produces a strange kind of "sparkling " effect that literally kills my eyes. [ March 23, 2002, 07:40 PM: Message edited by: Tom TCMHQ ]
  22. Captain , The " full trebases " are now in the Bob mod (all additional files go into the complete " Ardennes " zip after a few weeks ). Hmm..maybe I should rethink that. Cheers Tom
  23. Instead of a friendly BUMP a friendly THANKS !!!! to Juju an Manx Which means: the files are up !!!! Cheers Tom
  24. Hammerstein , For the US OOB , Juan Ramos has done an outstanding job. When it comes to the German OOB....well , don´t get fooled by the Hollywood movie: 1.) The " Brueckensicherungskommando " ( Bridge Security Unit ) consists of 63 soldiers and - IIRC - 1 MG 42 in one of the towers. 2.) The HJ and Volkssturm units ( some of these were equipped with WWI rifles...one guy had a SWORD !!! ) were sent home by the commanding officer Major Hans Scheller before the action starts. 3.) The Artillery/88er battery on the " Erpeler Ley " ( the hill on the eastern bank of the Rhine behind the bridge ) seems to be pure fiction ( but I have to check my sources again ). IIRC there was a kind of " experimental " rocket launcher unit on the hill .... without any ammunition..and a few 20mm AA flak guns in the area. BTW: in contrast to the movie , not a single US soldier died when Timmermann´s men stormed the bridge , but several Gi´s were wounded when they tried to climb the " Erpeler Ley " later. As you can see , a " historical " OOB for a CM scenario wouldn´t be much fun to play , but there are many interessting possible " What if´s ". Check out the official Remagen Bridge website at http://www.bruecke-remagen.de/start.htm Cheers Tom [ March 18, 2002, 08:19 PM: Message edited by: Tom TCMHQ ]
