  1. Glad to hear you enjoy the game and I definitly will! Hubert
  2. Agreed Bill and Sogard, I don't think anyone or anything is perfect and there is always room for improvement. Criticisms, feedback are always welcome. In the end I am bound to agree with some points and disagree with others, but without them and without a bit of humility and some eye opening, games such as these will never be destined for refinement and/or overall improvment. Now if I can only speed the whole process up and get these improvements to everyone sooner Hubert [ October 17, 2002, 10:08 AM: Message edited by: Hubert Cater ]
  3. OK fair enough, my choice of words may not have been the most appropriate, but let's be clear that for obvious reasons discussions should remain within the realm of SC and that heated debates beyond this realm should move to the General Forums. Hubert
  4. Intersting idea Jeff, I'm already looking into a research tweak for the post TCP/IP patch and I'll have more info on that later. Hubert
  5. Very glad to hear it was recommended as a buy, although I do take exception to "computer geek" Hubert
  6. Guys, let's keep it civilized and within the realm of SC or I will continue to move debates on personal politics to the General Forums. Hubert
  7. OK guys, this seems better suited to the General Forums, please feel free to continue this discussion there... Hubert
  8. Agreed, I too have been of the opinion that the initial loss of those two subs can be frustrating but once the French coast is secured it usually can become a whole new ball game. If anything I like the idea of a larger map, could give the initial subs in the 39' campaign a better fighting chance plus perhaps a MODE selection such as AUTO, RAIDER or to run SILENT as suggested above. These kind of suggestions probably won't see the light of day until an SC2 but regardless, off hand the remaining suggestions would have to be seriously thought about before I would implement any changes. Hubert
  9. No problem, the only port in question is 6530 Hubert
  10. I think the biggest problem is the size of the ocean, but I like some of these ideas and they seem to fit well with the current map size and the proposed bigger map size as well. Not sure where they fit into the grand scheme of things just yet (SC1 or an SC2) but I do like them nonetheless, could add that missing element to the game Hubert
  11. Let me rephrase, a quite *possible* SC2 Hubert
  12. Thanks for the insightful list dgaad, I'll take the post under advisement for future references/ideas! Hubert
  13. Good point here, there's a long story, but the current system of saving files is not as compressed as I would like, I've already identified optimizations for this but will have to wait for an SC2 unfortunately. Hubert [ October 15, 2002, 05:17 PM: Message edited by: Hubert Cater ]
  14. That's too bad, I really liked his MOD work for SC as well. I was actually going to try and contact him also as soon as things calmed down for me a bit, but glad you were able to do it. Hubert
  15. OK guys, interesting points all around. What has been learned here is that with the MPP system as well as with other aspects of the game, some like the current system and some do not. This is nothing new it seems with comments and criticisms of SC and if it appears that this thread cannot maintain any decent amount of civility I'm going to lock it up. On a personal note, regardless of point of view I do believe that opinions/criticisms with respect to this game SHOULD and WILL be expressed and that no matter how strongly either side may or may not agree with each other, intelligent debate is always possible without resorting to mudslinging. Perhaps if you have a strong point of view or counter argument and so on backing it with sources may help etc. Since I have seen little of that here I will lock this and other such threads up in the future. To be honest, I have seen this forum start out as a great community and I am kind of dissapointed to see it degenerate with threads such as these. Basically what I am saying is cool off guys, take it outside (General Discussion Forums/E-mail or whatever) and let's just get back to having some fun sprinkled with some intelligent debate. Thanks, Hubert Edit: OK originally locked but I'll keep this thread open for now and see how it goes for now. [ October 15, 2002, 04:18 PM: Message edited by: Hubert Cater ]
  16. Thanks, I'll have some notes and a formal announcement on changes/tweaks being added as soon as the TCP/IP patch is released which will happen soon. Hubert
  17. OK great! If you still have the faulty turn I'd like to take a look as it may be a bug that can be fixed for the next release. Thanks, Hubert
  18. what version are you playing? The version number can be seen in the bottom right hand corner of the MAIN MENU screen. Also if you can send me the faulty turn I can try to repeat it and see what the problem is, send to support@furysoftware.com Hubert
  19. Very glad to hear that you are enjoying the game. To answer your questions I'm from Canada, and yup there are some typos in the game. This should be resolved in a future patch. I guess my German is not as good as I thought! Hubert
