  1. The purple spot was in bmp 685. I found it and crushed it with a little tweak in Mircosoft paint. I'm back to DD's trees! Yay! [ February 10, 2002, 04:20 PM: Message edited by: Vader's Jester ]
  2. Look very close at clusters of scattered trees in groups of 4x4 tiles or more. You'll see a small purple dot (that is very noticeable once you find it) that repeats on every set of double joined tiles. It would be about the diameter of a coffie mug if our polygon troopers drank java in the game.
  3. I used to use DD's, but it has that annoying purple spot. I'm using Tigers right now, but it is too busy for my tastes. Anyone have a good alternative that is close to DD's effort? Thanks in advance.
  4. Okay, Flammenwerfer, send it to me. As for everyone else: I have about three to four tests in progress, so I cannot accept any more submissions at this time. I will post here again when I become available.
  5. Don't feel bad. I was dying to start round 2, and now my opponent won't even return my e-mails! We haven't even done a set up turn yet! I asked Ted to bug'em for me, but I think my opponent has went into stasis because I don't think even Ted has gotten a responce from him yet. [ February 10, 2002, 11:20 AM: Message edited by: Vader's Jester ]
  6. Looks good. I'd like to have that one in my collection.
  7. Bill Wilder? Who is Bill Wilder? Jeeze, Ted sure likes to throw names around like he is big and bad, dosen't he? Bill Wilder. Didn't he invent Windows or something? Congrats Jeff! If I play any crappy scenarios you design or playtest, I gonna track you down and--Oh, sorry; double personaly thing.
  8. I can playtest scenarios and operations for anyone interested. I have just finished one for SuperTed, who gave me good marks for feedback. Since I no not how to mod and just don't have the time for the hours and hours needed to design scenarios, I would like to do testing for those who need it. I wanted to contribute to the CM community in the most realistic way that fits within my lifestyle. Just drop me an e-mail with the scenario, your name of course, and what specific items you want me to look at the most as I playtest it for you. Okay, as Ted suggested, here is my e-mail: DBURCH@bak.rr.com And thanks, Ted! [ February 09, 2002, 01:35 PM: Message edited by: Vader's Jester ]
  9. I agree with SGT Kelly. However, I know a lot about the eastern front. CMBO will be on my HD for a looooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg time. [ February 08, 2002, 03:55 PM: Message edited by: Vader's Jester ]
  10. We here at the FBI have investigated MadMatt and found that he is in no way connected to the Enron scandel. This harmless man just runs several crack houses and is a known gun-runner and pimp; but he has no connection to Enron whatsoever.
  11. Ha! I still have 9 months to go!! I'm in my twenties, I'm in my twenties, ha-ha, ha-ha!
  12. Yeah! I wanna see Stuka and IL-2 wreckage on my battlefields BTS!!!
  13. Yeah, Ted; Bug'em. He's not answering my e-mail. I know he is busy with work, but I don't think one PBEM turn a day is too much to ask.
  14. I agree with you on all counts comrade Commissar.
  15. Okay. Even though I haven't started my fight yet with my elusive opponent , I guess I am still in this tourney, and have an obligation to keep it BUMPED to the first page!
  16. *In the singing voice of Gene Wilder* "If you want to view paradise, take a look around and view it. Any mod you want you'll drool for it. Want to change combat mission winters. . .we're still waiting for Tom to do it." BUMP time baby! Back to the top with ya!
  17. Yeah, I know. I can see how it would be funny to drop into a twich game with god mode on and frag everyone. I can also see the humor of playing a double blind scenario against a long time rival when you damn well know what is on the map and where. I just don't understand cheating in a single player game. Why would I play a single player Half-Life or Medal of Honor with all weapons and unlimited ammo on? It would just ruin the challange and suprises the game had for me. Sure, maybe after I've been through the single player game four or five times just for kicks, but I don't understand cheating at all in CM. If I loose that KT because of a stupid move or an excellently placed AT gun, it is because I deserved to. I don't want to step back one turn and save the tank. Where is the challange in that? The challange in CM is learning from those mistakes to make better tactical decisions in future games. If I cheat, I basicly cheat myself. So why would someone else do it? I guess it is like you said: "People do a whole lot of stuff that don't make sense. . ."
  18. Why would anyone want to cheat themselves? When I screw up and back my KT into a zook that I saw on the last turn but ignored even though it was only ten meters away from the KT's ass and he brews up the beast and I curse and cry, it just makes me NOT do that again and makes me use what is left of my resources that much better. Who wants to finish a scenario with all their tanks intact and 54 enemy tanks destroyed if no one cares but the player anyway? It would take me 15mins of playing any game in this fashon to get completely sick of it, and either play it without cheats, or toss it in the garage sale box.
  19. It doesn't work in Netscape, but it works fine in IE.</font>
  20. Uh. . .huh, huh, huh. Uh, he said erect . Uh, huh, huh, huh. Uh, huh, huh, huh. . . I plan on typing my, IT ROCKS!! , in 32 point text thank-you-very-much!
  21. Way to go Keith! Wait a minunet, my name is Keith!! Am I patting myself on the back? No one told me I had been appointed to this position of honor. Stop talking to yourself Keith. Damn it, I said stop talking too---look you, if you don't stop I'm gonna. . . [ February 06, 2002, 11:20 PM: Message edited by: Vader's Jester ]
  22. For the most part, you don't need them anyway. CM battles normally take place after all units have been unhitched and taken up positions on the map. And since BB starts with the German invasion of the USSR, you can rule out battles with Polish Cav vs Germans. Horse drawn units will still be able to be simulated to a certain extent by mentioning in your scenario breifings that the reason you only have two Pak guns insted of four is because your division's horses are all overworked, tired, dead, ect. . . 23. No, a burning unit that is out of action but not visable shows a collum of smoke but no unit. I blew a platoon of US halftracks that I had not spotted yet with a lucky 210mm rocket that fell right in the middle of the formation. I saw four smoke trails and flames, but no halftracks until the end of the battle. As for the gun (that was spotted but you lost LOS), just think of the metal parts making large "crunch" and "bang" sounds and the crew screaming in terror as the arty round hits it. That's how you know it was destroyed. At least, that is how I rationalize it to myself.
