here's the words for those that don't know it. When the Tigers Broke Free - Pink Floyd It was just before dawn One miserable morning in black 'forty four. When the Forward Commander was told to sit tight When he asked that his men be withdrawn. And the Generals gave thanks As the other ranks Held back the enemy tanks for a while. And the Anzio Bridgehead was held for the price Of a few hundred ordinary lives. And kind old King George Sent Mother a note When he heard that father was gone. It was, I recall, in the form of a scroll, With gold leaf and all. And I found it one day In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away. And my eyes still grow damp To remember His Majesty Signed with his own rubber stamp. It was dark all around. There was frost in the ground When the tigers broke free. And no one survived From the Royal Fusiliers Company C. They were all left behind, Most of them dead, The rest of them dying. And that's how the High Command took my Daddy from me. i just got a new computer, alienware pIV 1.7g 512mb ram, geforce 4 ti4400 128mb, soundblaster live. 4 speaker set up, windows xp. everything seems to working fine (of course CM is the most important thing to load and check first, lol) but i don't have sound in my rear speakers. i know they work, they work for windows sound and another game, but CM only comes through the front two, not the back. was curious if this a problem with xp? not that big of a deal but i miss full surround combat!

Excellent!! No offense, I never used yours because of the lack of equipment. I will definately use some of your uniforms now! How long til they are ready??

That was funny! You don't get your men to use fausts, they use them at their discretion. Yes, it can be frustrating. I think their experience level definately has something to do with it, as veteran or crack troops will be more apt to discharge their fausts. Also helps if they have a side or rear shot and are as of yet unspotted. Otherwise it's just luck of the draw.

Phantom Captain replied to Boris Balaban's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
And besides, we get to play all the CMBO we want in the meantime. At least we have an excellent diversion! I too would much rather wait. -

we played one of the byte battles from germanboy i think? Para Recon in Force, or something like that. anyway, it was a fun, small pre-made scenario. i was british, vader's jester was the germans. let's see here final score was: Brits 81 (lord dragon) Germans 19 (vader's jester) sorry man, ted asked what, more detail you ask? ok, no prob! Allied Attacker 30 casualties (10 KIA) 2 vehicles knocked out (only carriers, 3 cromwells undamaged) Men OK 90 Axis Defender 61 casualties (14 KIA) 8 captured 2 guns destroyed Men OK 25 wooo hoo! a good old fashioned tail kicking! now if only i could have pulled that one off in the tournament, dammit!! Anyone have a BMP list for the uniforms?
Phantom Captain replied to GreenGriffon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
hey ST, can you possibly send that to me too? -
i am looking to find a few fun, balanced and interesting scenarios for tcp/ip play. something different from your standard quick battles. i like to play around 1000-1500pt battles but a little larger might be fun as well. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. i don't have tons of time to hunt them out and want a few that i can have on hand for when i play. thanks!

hey, try gettysburg or antietam by firaxis, waterloo is a published by breakaway games but is based on the same engine. all three are quite good in my opinion.
