1.
quote:
Originally posted by Michael Dorosh: Let me know when you're done the Canadian ones.

It'll be my pleasure to send them out to you as soon as I'm done. I can't do a base mod to save my life, but I'm reasonably good at country specific mods. I've got a set of CMMOS mods based on I think Andrew Foxes jeeps I might send into Manx.
2. email me the tankdestroyers, jason.peacock@zones.com. I'ld love to use those as the base for US, UK, and Canadian CMMOS mods.
3. Just to add, in the one hundred dollars and below range the new Geforce2 Titanium is going to run about a hundred dollars and by avaible around the end of the month. It'll provide Geforce2 Pro level performance, which is head and shoulders above the MX cards, for around the same price.
4. If your willing to go to the 200 dollar range, the Geforce3 Titanium 200 was annouced today, just 5-9% slower than the current geforce3 for only 200 dollars.
5. I've seen Ostwinds whack Chaffees. I never take Jagdtigers or King Tigers, unless I have enough points to bring an Ostwind along. They are the ultimate anti-tank destroyer weapon, they normally kill a Hellcat in one shot and a M10 or jackson in two.
6. The Hotchkis does have one good point, it's the only tank I know of which can be KO'ed by sharpshooters.
7. The Allies have it easy, most of their misidentifications are Tiger?, so you end up treat the harmless panzer IV as a more deadly Tiger and the caution probably saves you several Shermans. The Germans, on the other hand , identified everything as Sherman? which can be anything from a M4 to a Jumbo or Firefly.
8. Harmless Stuart? I normally use Stuarts for the purpose of Stug hunting!
9. If you can find a Geforce256 around, they are faster than any of the 32mb Geforce2 MX cards. The key to the low price of the MX cards is their lack off DDR memory, whish the Geforce256 supports. Plus you can find the Geforce256 cards for around eighty dollars when aviable.
10. Hi Mom!!!! What a bitch as soon as we get trnasporter technology working maybe these people will stop bitching. I mean your ordering US mail, not Fedex.
11. Who was the Modder that left because of a bootleg CM copy?
12. Steve, was that price for a real Hetzer, or a Swiss G-13?
13. damn double post [ 07-10-2001: Message edited by: Shipmonkey25 ]
14. I'm pretty sure both halftracks seen in the movie are the same one.
15. As for the covered Marders, I was under the impression all the Marder series vehicles were all kind one-of-a-kinds. Since they were all rebuilds of several different base vehicles using one of several aviable guns, they all varied a bit in appearance.
16. Any chance of getting the Sexton put into batch files?
17. the best solution a can think of it to sneak them up the ambush point, use pauses to try to get them into that psoition at the end of a turn, then give them the withdraw command on the start of the next turn.
18. This isn't a exact answer to your question, but I play the Audey Murphy scenerio a couple of weeks ago, and to my friends and my own surpise we watch several 105mm shells ricohet off the tops of the Jagdpanthers. My best geusss would be that the slope mattered for artillery.
19. Don't discount the german 37mm AA. It's able to destroy any ally vehicles short of the heavy tanks, and it's more than able to immobilize most of those in one or two rounds. It's rate of fire allows it to rip holes through infantry and supress any other heavy weapons. Put it on a halftrack chassis or a Panzer IV chassis and its becomes one of the most fear QB guns. In my opion a Ostwind is a must for the protection of heavy german tanks in combat, not exactly historical but it works. The 37mm is capable of killing all the allied TDs in short order. In the group of CM players I LAN game with the Ostwind is known as the Hellcat Killer.
20. It's hard to imagine, high explosive rounds destroying overloaded row boats. Barton, if you ever see pictures of some of the boats used in the smaller river crossings you'll see they are completely unrealistic to use as Higgins boat replacements in D-day scenerios. All the assault boats are are small canvas or wood sided rowboats. It seems the best way to replicate a D-day landing mission is to just start the troops out already on the beach. You can use the unit edit function to set all troops to panic, cautious, weary or what ever state you need to simulate the wade to the beach. To simulated further waves with reinforcements come in with 5% to 15% chance per turn of arrival, to simulate the confusion. Or at least this what I've done and seen done be others to recreate D-day. Or we can just lobby BTS to add the Higgins boat in a patch! [ 06-28-2001: Message edited by: Shipmonkey25 ]
21. The Priest and the Sexton were both outfited with machine guns at the factory, mainly for antiair defense. As for the Hummel, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a machine gun in Combat Mission. They most likely could have recieved them once in the field, but it doens't seem likely since the were not meant to be used as assualt guns and were assumed to be covered by divisional AA assests.
