Hey Fionn, no challege here as I unfortunatly have no time to even play the AI however I would like to just say thanks for a game a year or so ago. I see a few posts like Michaels and I just wanna tell everyone who feels that way that Fionn is actually a really good guy who does tell you what you do wrong and doesnt rub it in your face and helps you. He was my first PBEM game and obviously he beat me into a mess, but he also helped me learn to play the game which in turn led to better games against other people. So dont hate on Fionn...hes not a "self promotor" or anything, we do all his promoting for him lol thanks Fionn.

I have read some posts on here saying how the Pershing was never used in combat in WWII. Well I was watching Dangerous Missions on the history channel tonight and they were talkign about Sherman tank crews. They then went on to talk about how the 3rd Armored Division had received several Pershings and used them in the fight for Cologne. It even had film from a cameraman with the division that showed the Pershing taking out a Panther tank. I know the history channel isnt always the most credible place for stuff like this but I was just curious as if anyone else saw the program? It does show a pershing in combat so why has everyone said it wasnt in combat? Again....just curious Im not saying everyone was wrong.

I dont see how the spotting problem can be fixed. If they did tweek it somehow then they would have to answer to "well I had a squad spot a AT gun but a squad 2 meters away didnt see it. FIX THIS!!" Its impossible to simulate someones vision. LOS is the best IMO that you can get for spotting. The other defensive problems I agree with.

I like them both but the green one looks a bit better IMO. Both GREAT!!

I must give some credit to my brother today for ALMOST beating me at CMBO. The worst part is it was his first game ever played. I didnt know an 8th grader with no real enthusiasm for WWII would ever set a trap like he did on me tonight. 1500 pt meeting engagement he splits his forces (surprise 1) and cuts off my main attack of infanty into two seperate groups while taking out my 2 Shermans with one Panther (surprise 2 as it was his ONLY flank protection) After these surprises I manages to take out his Panther and a couple assault guns on the next few turns with my Piat teams; and then turned on his infantry and finished him off. But still...not the fight I expected from a first time, young, very impatient kid like he is. GOOD JOB BRO!! I cant wait to play him again!

I have PE, CMBO, and IL-2 Sturmovik. ALL GREAT GAMES!! drawbacks for PE are the hard gunnery but once you get used to it you can become an ace. CMBO drawbacks...hmmm...takes all my freetime away? lol if thats a drawback I guess. IL-2: GREAT LOOKING GAME. the damage to your plane is like your watching a movie. Only drawback I see is the questionable flight model for some planes. Its a very heated discussion on the IL-2 board with lots of people going at other peoples throats over it. If anyone even has proof that hte FM may be a little off the other people are so in love with the game that they instantly all but drive the person who brings up the flaw out of the message board. its kinda sad that people can be so in love with a game and kiss butt like that to the programmers. But its a sweet game. all three I say are must haves. Of course I think everyone in here already has CMBO

Hey guys and gals. Its been a long time since Ive last been in here. Been busy with school and all I never have time for CMBO So I was wondering about CMBB? Any new info about it recently? And I just have one favor to ask BTS. Please make the weapons like the panzershreks and the russian counterpart MOD-able. I love CMBO but the only thing I hate seeing is how beautiful all the graphics and guns are, then I see a soldier holding a little tube. GREAT GAME!! it seriously doesnt hurt it at all but it would be that much more awsome if you could rework the weapons like the bazooka and all. THANKS for all the good times...(and the bad times when my little army men decide to run away )

Yeah its too bad they cant be fixed up a bit. Its so cool to see nice looking weapons and vehicles...and then seeing a different soldier carrying a rain gutter that can knock out vehicles. I know this has been brought up but whats the official word on why they hardcoded these weapons?

Im kind of both. I try to wait with my infantry but usually end up sending them forward a little sooner than I should. But with my AFV I have always taken the advice of "he who shows AFVs first....is the first one to lose them" to heart. Now if only I could learn to be more patient with the grunts.

With or without all these nice features everyone is asking for; I cant wait to actually get to PLAY CMBB. HAHA call me dumb but I dont care when the game comes out.....(I cant play it that day anyhow)....I just care about the moment I open that mailbox and see that beautiful mail package with the little bubblewrap around the cd Almost brings a tear to my eyes just thinking about when that moment will come. TAke your time BTS!!! We'll be here regardless of when it finally does hit the mailboxes.

Yea....and on top of it he deleted my windows startup folder....so....I couldnt get my computer started, had to do a full recovery, reconnect the internet, re-download all my programs, and then finally try to remember all my passwords haha. Ohh by the time I had all that finished my bro had plenty of time to get a visa and leave the country.

AHHHHHH :eek:!! I had the most horrible trick played upon me. My brother thought it would be "funny" to delete half of my programs on my computer including CMBO!! Now....I will go about beating him senseless as soon as I get all my patches and mods re-installed. Which leads to my question....is there just one patch for CMBO? version 1.05 or is there another one? I always thought there was two but I could be mistaken. Thank you all for helping me in my great time of dispair

I like the idea. It would feel like you are playing a campaign because as in real life commanders (for the most part) did not stay with exactly the same command and unit throughout the war. Example that comes to mind for me is Rommel. From (I believe) commanding just a division, to bigger things like Afrika Corps and then Fortress Europe in France. If any of this info I have listed is wrong please correct me!!! There is nothing wrong with getting a correct answer.

Ok I KNOW this has probably been brought up dozens upon dozens of times but the search is painfully slow and in this day and age of instant everything it get annyoing. so on to my question- What is the use of a regular jeep (no MG mounted) other than scouting the enemy? Now I have heard a lot of people say that using jeeps as recon vehicles is "gamey" and I know that scouting should/is modeled before the actual engagement in CMBO. So if not for recon...what are they for? If I recall right they cannot transport very many units. So once again I seek the help of the all knowledgeable gamers on this one.

I like it. For scenario designers making battles along the West Wall it would be a good idea because it would stop the tanks of course but still allow the infantry to move through albeit at a slower pace. Which is exactly what the tank traps along the west wall did. The only problem I see here is that engineers would not be able to blow holes through the traps like they actually did. But to fix this problem one just has to look at the time frame. I certainly dont think the engineers blew many holes through the tank traps during actual combat which would mean that problem would be out of CMBOs range. Good idea though Fieldmarshall.

What does everyone tend to do once the squad they split up to do recon actually runs into an enemy force. I have tried immediatly moving them back with the platoon to even letting them slug it out until the rest of the platoon arrives to help them. Both have produced mixed results. Any suggestions?

I agree it would be nice to see a well made Vietnam wargame. But I dont think we will ever see a good one. For CM to do the Vietnam conflict it would require a 1000 times better 3d graphics representation for the dense jungle. and even then, it wouldnt be much of a tactical game. Your orders would be to march down a trail in the jungle, lose a few men to boobytraps, continue on after a dust off chopper carried away the dead and wounded. After continueing on you would stumble onto a enemy ambush that would probably only last about 5 to 10 turns in CM. Even with this combat you wouldnt have much control and the ranges would be VERY close with all the dense jungle around. It would be great to have a good game about Vietnam, but I doubt it could ever be done. Then again they never thought putting men on the moon could be done.

BTS...you have made quite an impression in the gaming world, now I think you have solved world peace as well. I have noticed in this message board that if someone insults another person it is soon learned by everyone that a dual ensues. Not with pistols but with your wargame. the winner saves face, and the loser accepts defeat with grace. Now...if BTS were to tweek Combat Mission to include all countries of the world and their own military strengths countries could solve their differences with a CMBO dual! Sure it would take a long time to make the game and all the countries individual militaries but the end result would be peace in Israel, peace in Bosnia, etc. GOD BLESS BTS! *Disclaimer* Yea I know its wishfull thinking. But like the lyrics the the common Beach Boys song "Wouldnt it be nice?"

Is there any warrenty that BTS will replace the game if you show them the recipt or something? I never checked the warrenty (if there is such a thing) when I got CM in the mail. I was too busy practically ripping the house apart tearing up the stairs to play the game.
