Wow I just went through ALL my CM games and I have 27 stinking license keys between base games, upgrades, battle/vehicle packs and having both PC and MAC versions of CMSF1.
Holy cow....

Very cool...the German vehicle recce guide is particularly welcome.

I had intended to have it out by now. Several unexpected things in RL are getting in the way. I will probably forgo the PDF file and release the scenario in the next few days. Sorry for the delay.
NO worries...I assume the PDF is integral to the scenario...so we can wait....sigh...a few more days.

Now THAT is a killer point, for me. I'm a MOUT/FISH aficionado ref modern combat, so having that kind of flexibility in-game is very very attractive.
From my perspective...just FIXING the very suboptimal QB system is good enough...I have long wanted more control over selecting units...especially RED UNCON...I also love MOUT/FISH type actions...and I love QBs
FISH....The British armed forces terms are OBUA (operations in built-up areas), FIBUA (fighting in built-up areas), or sometimes (colloquially) FISH (fighting in someone's house),or FISH and CHIPS (fighting in someone's house and causing havoc in people's streets).
That's awesome...time for some FISH and CHIPS....

He shouldn't have to port. The goal is CMSF2 will run anything created in CMSF. It won't have any of the additional AI capabilities in 4.0, but it should be playable.
True...however I thought I read somewhere that CMSF1 mods may not work in CMSF2?

There were some mods for a "Return to Baghdad" project...and I believe there was one scenario made...I don't recall there being a campaign..

At the moment I'm reading Panzerkrieg volume 1 German Armoured Operations at Stalingrad by Jason D. Mark, published by Leaping Horseman Books. As all books by this publisher it is very, very good. This volume concentrates on the Panzerabteilungen 103, 129 and 160 during the 1942 summer campaign and the following struggle for Stalingrad. Lots of excellent new pictures and lots of thorough, well researched info. Highly recommended. Volume 2 is in the works and will concentrate on the 16. PzD.
I really hope we will get a Stalingrad module for CM one day. It is such a fascinating period of the war.
Hey, did you ever play this?
It uses the excellent Stalingrad Mod pack for CMRT and is a marvelous campaign...maybe not a full module, but pretty darn good.

SOOO, what's the latest?

That aside, I can say for sure that any old scenario or campaign, no matter who made it, will load in CMSF2. Whether it will play great right without modifications or not... no idea
Steve
This of course is the key to happiness...even though some of them may not be PERFECT, just the sheer volume will keep things interesting for a long time.
And who knows, maybe for some of the most popular, maybe their creators will be inspired to buff them up....

Well, I for one am already prepared to keep my iMac in play as a second display when the time comes to upgrade so I can keep playing CM2...
But I figure I can keep High Sierra going for a while as long as Apple does security updates...

Ahhh. Ok. I guess I’ll look around then. They must be posted somewhere
Thanks.

My Quick Battle Maps folder for CMBN has almost 900 maps. Is there a way to tell which QB maps came packed in the original game, and which came from which particular module / addon? File date helps a little, but not as much as you'd think..... I'd consider installing the game on another laptop and taking note that way, but I'd hate to use up one of my limited number of installs just for that.
Since there seems to be demand, what I may do is just release the CMBN version in pieces -- first with only the original game's QB maps, then uploading newer pdf versions as I add Commonwealth Forces, Market Garden, etc....
Thanks.
Dayum...900 maps? I thought I had a lot and I've only got 745..any chance you could put those in your dropbox?
BTW< thanks for doing this..very cool

And yes, I will pass all maps off to the QB chop shop, so Berlin will have QB potential (as well as stock scenarios).
Thank you!!

WOW, 2 campaigns and a monster Berlin map. One does hope that map will be broken up into awesome QB maps...

I have no idea about CMA but the other mac versions are all already 64bit. As a PC user I'm jealous.
Sweet...good to know...thanks much...
-
So do we know if all the CM games are 64 bit compatible?

Interesting...he's got a new book on Arnhem coming out on the fall...looking forward to it.

SOOOO, when can the peasants get their hands on this?

It is a good time, but inebriation also leads to poor decision making, and many casualties.
Thankfully, my men are all made from pixels. Pixeltruppen, if you will...
Well, some of us don't even get the happiness (or excuse) of inebriation when we make poor decisions that get our Pixeltruppen killed....I think your way is at least more pleasant.

The play-through has begun. Unfortunately, due to the low framerate of very large maps, no video will be forthcoming.
I will endeavor to take screenshots, so long as my inebriation doesn't cause me to forget.
I will also endeavor to avoid any potential spoilers.CMBS $60.....Bottle of Good Whisky-$40....Inebriation while playing CMBS...PRICELESS.

Just finishing touches. I think the scenario will need a PDF file to make it easier to understand the new concepts. This is probably the last hurdle and one that I did not anticipate. Thanks for the interest.
Outstanding...yes, for those of us in the remedial category of CMBS players, I think the PDF will be most welcome.

@dragonwynn..HOWDY...any update on this? Hope all is well with the relocation....

SO, any update on this...I have been watching and waiting....

Well, it wasn't an idle exercise. I was thinking what would happen if I got a new computer at SOME point in the future...What a PITA it will be to get everything registered again.
WORTH IT, of course, but SO many keys to keep straight.
