Movement order given to deployed machine gun No pack-up. Un-deployed machine gun has LOS to target: Deploy order given. Move to the back of the action spot, men! LOS? SOL -
Crew served weapons are still rather buggy in 2.01 1) Medium and heavy machine guns are still instantly packing-up when given a movement order. When ordered to pack-up in-place by clicking the Deploy button they pack-up normally as per the listed pack-up time. Mortar teams always pack-up normally. 2) Medium and heavy machine guns automatically deploy at the end of a movement order if they were deployed at the beginning of the movement order. Mortar teams do not exhibit this behavior. 3) Medium and heavy machine guns and mortar teams move the crew-served weapon to the back of the action spot when deploying. When next to some types of terrain, notably bocage, this causes the team to lose LOS to the other side (see pics below). I don't feel that I put any more effort into my PBEM turns than I did in CMx1. The games run at a more realistically deliberate pace and therefore take more turns to play, but the individual turns are not particularly demanding. CMx1 may have been a little more "beer and pretzels", but to suggest that CMx2 is soulless is way off the mark, IMO. I find myself caring more for my CMx2 pixeltruppen than I did for their CMx1 predecessors. -

I agree. I don't have CMFI either, but I do have CMBN and they use the same UI, AFAIK. -

I cannot find any such comment. And in any case I don't know how he or you would make that determination. The game UI makes no distinction between AP and APHE, nor between AP and APC. It is all listed as "AP" in the UI. -

That would make more sense. I think we were confused as to what you were referring to exactly because the panzer in the OP wasn't missing individual panels. It had no schurzen anywhere.

Yes there is a Mac version of H2HH. It's in the same RAR folder as the PC version, just a different subdirectory.

That is good to know. But that brings up a question. I just loaded up a CMBN QB and purchased 10 Pz IV G "latest". When the game began all 10 appeared with turret schurzen, but only 6 had any hull schurzen. Under the hood are are all vehicles of the same model considered identical? If so, are all Pz IV G latest treated as if they have hull schurzen or do not have hull schruzen?

The directory path is (drive letter):\(CMBN main directory)\Game Files\Outgoing Email. So on my computer it is D:\CMBN\Game Files\Outgoing Email. But I'm on Win7 so it could be totally different on a Mac. Also, given that you bought it on the App Store make sure you have the same version as your opponent. IIRC patches for the App Store appear well after they come out for other versions.

The skirts make HEAT projectiles slightly less likely to penetrate. When the East Front games come out they will presumably have a more pronounced effect on Soviet AT rifles, which is what they were actually intended to defend against.

The Elephant's frontal armor is 200mm thick, so only 76mm HVAP could penetrate it. -

That could depend on whether the Market-Garden module focuses exclusively on those operations or includes other actions in NW Europe during the same time period. The M18 was used in the Battle of Nancy, September 5-15 and the Battle of Arracourt, September 18-29. It actually could have been included in the base game since M18s were in theater since July at the latest and participated in the Cobra breakout. -

One issue with fog and haze is that the graphical effect doesn't play well with shaders and shadows, at least not in CMBN 2.01. CMBN 2.01 light fog (zoomed in). Shaders and shadows OFF. Light fog with shaders ON, shadows OFF Light fog with shadows and shaders ON -

There is a chance that troops under direct fire from a spotted enemy outside a covered arc will disregard the order to return fire. The likelihood is based on the unit's Motivation rating with Fanatics having a 0% chance of doing so then increasing with lower Motivation. +1. But I suspect this is something many people who do play don't know.

To be fair, both of GaJ's M10s were lost when he drove them into LOS of Bil's stationary tanks. And GaJ did get the drop on Bil's Elephant with a towed AT gun but couldn't penetrate the armor. -
