After "shell cam" we'll be looking for "bullet cam"!

I like. I like.

That screenshot caught my eye, too. Very nice, but only due to artistic effort, rather than a new game effect. Crushing objects would be great, but collision detection and clipping would need to be raised by several orders of magnitude. Imagine your one FO team in a jeep getting crushed by your own tank due to a mis-timed move order. Or, are you saying the TacAI should've known that you didn't want that jeep to be crushed? If guns can be crushed, what about men? What about friendly men? Etc. I'd still like to crush enemy machineguns and atg's. Ken

Hmm, I had platoons of German SMG's, but that was back in...Panzerblitz.

Nice... kind of like that but without all the politeness between the combatants and with a bit more fighting. -
Oh, release date? Steve just told us that it would be NDA VIOLATION! FINAL WARNING!!
-
Mum's the word 'til release...

Expect many quotes from the already long thread about this topic from the Beta testers and developers. Well, maybe no quotes: it would be churlish to quote private conversations in public. This topic has been discussed and there are solid, TACTICAL, reasons for this behavior. I shall now return to leading my Red Hordes! (I hope I'm not burnt out of East Front action by the time the rest of you get to start playing... :) ) Ken

In anticipation of CMBB, I'd stocked a fresh bottle of vodka in my freezer. I have another fresh bottle there, again...

The blood flows freely. My men thank you for generously perforating their fleshy mortal bags which hold back their spirits from entering the halls of immortality. Meeting engagement? Hah. Your men sit there. Thay are soft and lazy. (On the road... more bloodletting late tonight.) -

Late '41 early '42 German manuals had drawings of studly men advancing towards Soviet tanks with crowbars to bend the mg barrels. Sgt Rock indeed. Pretty desperate techniques promulgated to give the troops a sense that they weren't totally defenseless. -
Monday, April 7th at 10:00 a.m. EDT. That moment has been chosen for maximum effect on global GDP.

Perhaps an ammo carrier, not a command and control vehicle?

No random events. It takes a projectile or blast to cause a casualty.

What the scout car missed...

Ouch. Next time, unbutton. The TC will be sure to spot something... -
I like how they air-dropped that Sherman right on target...

^^^ This. However, the editor TOE tools are VERY powerful. You can add any individual unit to anything in the TOE. For example, I can add sniper teams, scout teams, and LMG teams to each platoon. I can delete one company from a battalion. I can buff up the other two companies. I -cannot- add a platoon: if it starts with 3, I can only have 3 or less. I -cannot- add a squad to a platoon: if it has 4 squads at start, I can only have 4 of that type or less. Within the above restrictions, there are a lot of possibilities.

Bah! 4 f's? I've got one BIG F for you, Bil! Yes, we're battling. While Bil dances and prances with his silly F's, I will skip right to the LAST one: FINISH!!! And by "Finish", I mean "Attack"! And by "Attack", I mean "Kill all his men no matter the cost"! And by "Kill all his men no matter the cost", I mean "Finnish". Yes, suomi-style, or sumo-style, whichever works best. The woods are echoing with the sounds of rapid-fire submachinegun bursts! We will post this...sometime. I have ensured that our battleground has been properly consecrated. Yevgeni volunteered for the honor. Bare chested, like a veritable Putin, he resolutely strode into the fascist bullet streams! His example has motivated my men. For him! -

A gauntlet, cast down, has been returned. Our seconds have been chosen. The duel has been arranged. More will be posted for those to whom this sort of bloodsport is considered "fun". Aye, I shall turn to my trusty cohorts and find some volunteers... Ken -
I, personally, would not be refreshing.

Always! In fact, as I told my men this, three of them charged off into the distance, screaming "urrah, urrah" as they disappeared over the rise. -

Did I say "fear"? My men willingly plunge into the wilderness; through the thickets, attempting to grapple with the wily slav. His advantage is that he is closer to nature. The woods protect and shelter him. He can lay in a mud bog for days on end waiting for the chance to unleash a burst from his papasha into my brave soldaten. I've lost several battalions, swallowed into the vastness of the virgin forest. I will continue to send them in, until I can walk from one end to the other without ever having trod on nought but the backs of those who have fallen. It will be...gloooorrrious. -

Out? No. No one ever gets out of the woods. Men go in and they just seem to get swallowed up. If you enter, you'll never leave. -
Gents, After months of exhaustive East Front action, I thought I'd save your men some blood and grief. Yeah. Surprising, I know. Important point: If you're the Germans, try not to fight the Soviets in the forests. Carry on.
