bodman replied to TCP's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Thanks for the tip. It is working for me also. I have the creative card geforce 256, an athlon tbird and an asus a7v. So far everthing is working without a hitch. I can't beleive I didn't think to try this. Again thank you. Bodman -
I was wondering if there was a vidio chipset that supports all the features of cmbo in win xp, that doesn't have the white transparency issues?
-
yeah grab the demo. Your system should handle it just fine. bodman

Hi Rune, Do you think Nvidia even cares or knows that there are some graphical glitches in CM?
-
Can you imagine when the graphics will look like this. Computers will probably be running at 100 gigahertz by then. bodman

Thanks much for the info Bodman -
I know it has already been mentioned but Company Commander by Charles B. Macdonald is one of the best I have read. Don't forget Donald Burgett He wrote Currahee!, Seven Roads to Hell, among others. He was in the 101st Airborne. God those men had courage Bodman

Does the British have the ability to use Priest in cmbo ?

To make legitimate copies of practically any cd. (Even copy protected ones) you need a program called CloneCD. It works. It's all I use when backing up my software. Please note that I don't condone software piracy either, but accidents can happen. bodman

Book Recommendations......for the East Front?
bodman replied to Randl's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Try this one for German perspective memoir. IN DEADLY COMBAT by Gottlob Herbert Bidermann. It is available a amazon.com I have read the forgotten soldier by Guy Sajer also. I loved it but according to some educated sources it is a work of fiction. A shame because it is a very good book. I could Hardly put it down. I know of a site online that is an excellent source of material from the Russian side. It is http://history.vif2.ru/index.html Hope this helped Bodman -
Hello, Gamespot has a very good gaming oriented hardware page. I would recommend trying them. Bodman

Some "less desirable" features in CMBO
bodman replied to Ari Maenpaa's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Hello, Speaking of goofy Tank AI. Does anyone remember how terrible the tank AI was in The Close Combat series? I think CMBO puts that series to shame. Bodman -
Doug, The 22.50 drivers still have the white transparency issue. I run win xp pro on an athlon asus mobo with Geforce 256 card. CM stills runs flawlessly on win 98 that I have dual booted. I don't like it but what the hey. Cmbo is a great game and I like Xp. If any of the beta drivers ever work I'll post it here so everyone will know. Maybe next time (fingers crossed) Bodman

Hi My other reply was incomplete. I was going to say what Gyrene said. bodman

Hi, Try this. Go to your (drive letter)\program
-
Hello doug, Please don't give up hope yet. I too suffer the same problems as you. The white transparency problems plague my win xp install also. I chose to dual boot my system with win 98 and XP with a program called system commander 2000. It is a program that makes dual booting pretty painless. I hope this suggestion helps you, but then again you may not want to buy another program just to run CM without graphics problems. Bodman

COMBAT MISSIONS: Quality Control ?
bodman replied to Manx's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Manx, A few months back I sent you an email stating how much I appreciated your efforts. You were kind enough to reply to my email with a simple thank you. I was very impressed by that. I think that shows that you are a first rate person. All I can say is, Ignore the criticism and do what is best for yourself. You have a fine website and I thank you once again for all your contributions to this fine game. Bodman -
Don't spend anymore money until you try a shareware copy program called CloneCD. The URL is http://www.elby.de/CloneCD/english/welcome.htm. After looking at their webpage use this link to see if your cd burner is supported by their software. http://www.elby.de/CloneCD/english/cdr_a.htm If it is then you shouldn't have a problem backing up the software. Please note that I own a legitimate copy of the game and in no way condone piracy either. I just don't want to see you waste your money. Good Luck Bodman
