Notice also he said "the release date" rather than "a release date"! Very suggestive that a firm date is already in mind! (trying to be silly here) -

ACK! Sorry, the reversed "R"'s do look pretty juvenile. -
In recent battle the AI had Veteran forces. But actually because I gave it +3 bunus, that means he had Elite forces, even though in the game was displayed as Veteran, right?</font>

Thanks. Can't wait to get home and take a peek at them on a computer that actually can handle operating an internet browser. -
With CM and CMBB, should I bother with ASL?
Agua replied to Commissar's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
You know the tradeoffs. There's an undeniable value in the thorough understanding of the capabilities of the various units that comes with having to mentally grapple with the computation of movement, morale modifiers, combat resolution, blah, blah, that you just can't get by allowing the computer to do these calculations for you, (that is if you even could know the relevant abstractions utilized in CM, which you can't). On the other hand, you don't have to fool with all the tedious things associated with board gaming (including computing movement, modifiers, combat resolution, blah, blah...LOL). Personally, I don't mind being lazy and letting the computer do all that stuff. So in my case, it would be purely a question of sentimentality. Your mileage may vary. -

Excerpts from Wagner's Tanenhorst Overture(sp) could be taken which would be absolutely perfect. Eric - "Roads to Moscow" by Al Stewart (I think . . the same guy who did "year of the cat", if that's Al Stewart). -

LOL!!! Knew that was coming! -
Odd unit combos or not, I've been having a blast the last couple of days letting the a/i pick forces for 300 pt. attack/defend and giving the puter the +3 experience bonus and a 10% force bonus. The games are short (usually global morale forces end of game by turn 15 or so) and with random time of day / weather, it makes for extremely varied situations.

Michael Wittman's Demise - did we find the answer?

Is this the post that contained the info you're looking for?: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=001443 -
Just sitting here with a 5,000 attack and thinking how great it would be to click on a platoon then be able to right click and have it set up in a wedge, column, V, etc. I know its late for CMBB, but just throwing this out there. I guess the distances between the squads / support would need to be customizable. [ May 27, 2002, 12:25 PM: Message edited by: Agua ]

Um ... its a beta. I'm not going to attack you the way a lot of folks in here have, but I'm sure Hubert would genuinely appreciate your pointing out specific problems you've noted. After all, that's what an open beta is for: it allows the developer to improve the game.

PBEM, well hell, I've maybe finished 2 pbem's. Probably played over a hundred tcp/ip. Just too much self-questioning and over-analyzation going on in pbem for me plus with the review movie stage necessitated by we-go, it just takes too long to finish a game.

Jake, did you ever get that CD?
