AI issues: Playing against the computer

You can normally "uninstall" just by deleting the CM demo folder. It is normal that CM dont make changes in the registry, it install only files into the CM folder. The message you got is odd, try a reboot and delete the folder again, it should work. Monty [ September 09, 2003, 06:54 AM: Message edited by: Monty ]

Newbie needs screen shot help
Monty replied to KrispyKommie's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
1 - Press the Prt Sc ( Print Screent ) Button 2 - Open Paint 3 - Paste the screenshot 4 - Save the picture as a .bmp I then convert the screenshot to .jpg because a .bmp is mostly a few megabytes large. Monty -
Mostly i first watch the movie a few times with all trees etc invisible and medium sound. When i have seen all important stuff, i put on trees etc. and no base color. Now i watch movie again on level 1 with more sound to give me the "you are there" feeling ! But i have only 2 desk top speakers. Will having a 5 or 6 speaker surround set give me a far better sound experience with CM ??? Monty

Nvidia FX 5900 : Recommended for CM ??
Monty replied to Monty's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Aha, maybe the price of the 5900 will drop... The newest versions are mostly overpriced, but i have more money than sense so i dont care Monty -

Nvidia FX 5900 : Recommended for CM ??
Monty replied to Monty's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
The 5600 dont perform well with CM, i have read several threads about it. Thats why i ask if there are performance or other problems with CM. The 5900 has a steep price, so i like to know if its worth the extra $ ( i now am a satisfied Geforce 4 Ti4400 owner ) Monty -
HELP NEEDED: Invisible AT mines?
Monty replied to Haplo_Patryn's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Indeed, the behavior of your units is realistic. The mines are detected normally when the first vehicle is blown up hehehe. I have seen sometimes AT mines are detected before a vehicle was blown up yes, but very rarely and i dont know why that happened ! So dont expect units to detect AT mines ! I think pioneer units could detect them, but NOT in a battle - period which CM handles. Move the pioneer units near the AT mines when they are detected, and they will throw satchel charges to the mines , which destroy them. AT mines in CM are nasty, but realistic. HINT: Nasty players use this method: they place a road block on a road, and AT mines on both sides hehehehe, also some scattered anti personel mines to hold the inf. attack. Especially with bad weather conditions when tanks need to stay on roads, this can be devastating ! Monty [ September 05, 2003, 04:44 AM: Message edited by: Monty ] -
How are experiences with the Nividia FX 5900 (ultra) for CM ? Please tell me, i understand the FX5600 has flaws, but is the 5900 ok ? Monty

Why a small map ?? Try next time a medium, or better a large map with a few more tanks. You can MANEUVER your forces unseen ,so you can try to flank the enemy forces (send a few tank hunter teams for scouting ). Using small maps with heavy tanks is boring ( my opinion )! Monty

Internet Gamers - How do I find them?
Monty replied to Muso57's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Or just send a mail to somebody from this forum, works for me Monty -
Ahhh roger The integrated video on your mainboard (shared memory) is the bottleneck imho. Your RAM is used also for the video purpose, and the integrated video dont have enough "juice" for CMBO. I recommend you buy a seperate video card. I guess your mainboard dont have a AGP slot? A PCI slot video card is the second option, there are a few video cards for it still in the shops, i think somebody can tell you which has the best performance for the $, they are not expensive anyway. If you install the seperate video card, you need to de-activate your mainboard video in the BIOS, ask a friend who know more about PC's how to do it. Goodluck, Monty

*MOD POSTED* 50mmPak38 &75mmL36
Monty replied to gautrek's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Just a nitpick: I the books i read about EastFront, the guncrews did clean there gun very often, because the optics were very sensible for dirt / damp Though i question if very dirty/rusty guns did occur often, they look cool. I would love to see however some guns with foley(how do i spell that?grrrrr) i mean leaves as camo i you get my drift. Monty -
Here are the game specs you need for CMBO: 166MHz Processor (Celeron, Pentium, Athlon, etc) 32MB of RAM 100MB of Hard Disk Space (approx.) CD ROM Drive DirectX 6.0 or higher compatible video card DirectX 6.0 higher compatible sound card 28.8 modem or faster for multiplayer games So your RAM is ok, now you need to get info about your vid card. Monty

Likely its your vid card memory or your RAM which is the problems. You have a seperate vid card or an integrated vid. on your mainboard ? Im not shure what it the minimum RAM you need for good performance, 64 seems a bit low. If you have a low end vid card, dont install high resolution modification add-ons, only low resolution ones.
