  1. Thanks Ill try the HQ unit first. btw i lost 2 squads because the tanks targetted the houses, i guess its a good tactic of my opponent to wait till squads of me give away there postition, on the other hand IF i had pioneer and/or FT units in the houses, he had lost his precious tanks allready. Monty
  2. I have 2 company's in houses around a road crossing.' My opponent just drove 3 Pnz IV to the crossing, they are about 15 to 20 meters from my men. I ordered a few squads to target the tanks (no movement command), they threw a few molotov cocktails (no effect) but refuse to use grenades. Do i have to try another command like assault or move combined with target ? They are veteran squads under command of HQ. I have no pioneer or FT unit nearby sadly. Monty
  3. Yeah, more more more ! Maybe Ant can make a few more footage pics with his digital camera or somebody else ? btw my vacation is over so i have less time to produce footage pics but i will try to make an AAR report with them in the near future. 4. About your question: No idea, sorry old bean. Monty
  5. Just an idea: Do you have a backup PC ? In that case you can install the older CD/DVD player from your backup temporary in your new pc, and install CMBO (installing is very easy, you can even lay the older player on top of your pc for the temp install. and just switch cables ) The online copies dont have this problem i think. I just bought a new CD-Rom player, A-Open 52x and it recognise both CM version without problem (online version) Goodluck, Monty [ August 11, 2003, 11:25 AM: Message edited by: Monty ]

  10. I have some IL-2 screenies from my flying period, here is a footage version ( i used a screenshot from the black/white opening movie which i made myself ): Monty
  11. See if you like mine in the previous thread. Looking at those aeroplane shots, I think a blurring would be in order. Recolored and added grain to get an old photo feel... And a colorized the results to get the yellowish B&W photo look. </font>
  12. Hi Ant Thanks for the link, its very interesting ! But no, i use another method. In IL-2,the game is almost foto-realistic so its pretty "easy" to convert them to nice footage shots. btw in IL-2 you can use the black/white start movies ( you can add a movie you made to this start) to make nice footage pics ! However, in CMBB the images are much more simpler so you need to try many views and distances and tryouts before you find a picture which is usable to convert to a footage pic. My method: - I use the normal screenshot (printscreen button) and save the .bmp. - I open my graphical program (Paint Shop Pro 6.0) and convert the pic to grey scale. - Then i soften the pic and add noice to it. - After that i adjust brightness/contrast (add 25 % brightness and lower contrast with about 40 %) - Then i increase the colors again and add some yellowish color on the picture to try a more oldish effect ( this is the hard part, i am not quit satisfied with the effect ) - I resize the pic and then use a photo edge of a real photo to paste the pic and merge it. Thats about it. Monty [ August 10, 2003, 07:44 AM: Message edited by: Monty ]
  13. Thanks Tanks a Lot, and yes your tree mod is just like the real thing ! btw i am thinking about making a WHOLE AAR in this style of footage photo's Anybody has hints / tips to make those photo's better, more realistic ? Monty
  14. Here are some new footage photo's i have found. First is a Panther on the move: Second is a German attack wave: Did you see the photo i posted before,on which a Russian gun knocks out a Stug ? : Well, i found a new photo made on that same spot!! I read the Germans moved 2 more tanks on that same spot, a few Panzer IV's. And........the gun knocked them out also Here is the photo: After the 3 kills, the gun was attacked by another wave of tanks, the crew panicked and lost the nerves to aim careful and the gun was knocked out. 21. Interesting stugg err stuff chaps.......but who needs front penetrations when my pbem opponents give me enough opportunity to kill his tanks with flank shots Monty
  22. Very nice, good job I once knocked out an enemy Stug with some onboard 88 mm mortar shells That gives you a wonderful feeling, knocking out a expensive enemy piece with a few roebel cents hehe. Monty
  23. Found another photo: A Stug is knocked out by a gun ( you see the gun firing, but the Stug was knocked out after 3 side hits i have read ) So those Stugs were not so über after all Monty [ August 07, 2003, 06:31 AM: Message edited by: Monty ]
