  1. I haven't played BO since BB came out, but despite the fact that I, too, am salivating for CMAK, I feel confident that I will still play a lot of BB over the next year or two.

Problem is, in BO, all my later war Panzers and HT's had beautiful ambush camo like this:

    PzIVAmbush03.JPG

I have this for the Mk IV and some of the HT in BB, but I really don't love any of the Panther A/G's, Tiger Mid and Late, and King Tiger mods anywhere out there.

Any chance one (or more) of you incredibly talented folks would give 44-45 some grace and consistency?

    :D:D:D

Also note that they can be immobilised by a round through the tanks thin engine covers, too. Not something you see happen too often, but very possible.

Sorry Dan, 8 x .50s for the P-47, 6 for the P-51, but still no problem breaking tracks, external stowage etc.
  3. Mikey,

Your StuG series for BB is absolutely one of the best mod sets ever. I have and use all your redrawn mods.

Now back in the day in BO, everyone complained about too many Panther/Tiger mods. But I am a dedicated modslut and I have every Panther/Tiger/King Tiger mod for BB that has come out, and I don't truly love any of them. (Your King Tiger is nice, and very true to life, but not the scheme I am looking for).

I haven't touched BO since BB came out, but I still long for the beautiful, consistent ambush paint that all my 44/45 German AFV's and halftracks had in BO. I have that for many of the HT's, but none of the big cats.

Any chance of a Panther/Tiger/King Tiger set along the lines of your StuG's? Pretty please with sugar and desert dust clouds on top? :D

    Never hurts to ask....

And the data base link is to CM Mod Database (the one that’s down at the moment)?? So my question is do you have a link on your site to download. redface.gifredface.gif  </font>

What you do need in this situation is an understanding spouse or significant other, who doesnt mind that you are holed-up in front of the PC, playing a game for 5 or 6 hours straight.

They seem a bit more understanding if they were with you when it took all weekend to set-up a Map-and-counters wargame and play a few turns. Five or six hours then doesn't seem so bad... </font>
  6. The most fun and challenge to be had against the AI lies in playing by Franko's True Combat rules.

You can print out the map in one of the overhead views prior to setup, but once play begins, you are restricted to level 1 only, unless the unit getting orders is on the 2nd floor of a building, in which case, you can use level 2, or on the 2nd floor of a church, you may use level 3 to simulate being in the steeple.

You must use Tab and + or - to rotate through your units until you have given them all movement orders, covered arcs, etc. You may rotate the view from any unit to look all around them, but you may not look from a viewpoint other than the unit itself. You may never give them fire orders, the AI will handle that, and you may never click on an enemy unit. Some people use the n key to change targets if a unit is already firing.

It takes a lot of discipline not to cheat, but it makes for a rewarding experience when all you have time or circumstances for is a game against the AI. Attacking becomes very challenging, and defending against the AI can actually be worthwhile as long as the terrain isn't completely wide open to see everything coming.

The first time you try to figure out where a routed unit is, after it has gone into thick trees as you wonder which way to move them when they recover is priceless. Also, night and fog make things very tense and interesting.

Anyway, try it, you'll be amazed. Its best for commanding two companies or less, but it will work for anything if you have the patience.
