  1. Well, I never quite finished it, but I did play most of it. Great scenario. To answer your questions: 1) I pushed a platoon or so across the flanking bridge to use as scouts and ferret out ambushes near the main road bridge. My main effort was aimed at that bridge, with another platoon working towards the bridge on the right just to keep the American infantry pinned down. 2) I found the most effective tactic for the advance was to deploy my infantry in a line about 50m in front of a line of Panthers and 75mm toting HTs. The infantry would find the enemy, then the line of armor would annihilte them in short order. Also, the Panthers are nearly impervious to frontal shots from 57mm atgs and zooks, so I had little to worry about there. WWB
  2. Well, there are some effective places to find opponents in real time. They would be CMHQ chat (www.combatmission.com) and tournamenthouse chat (www.tournamenthouse.com). WWB
  3. I had this problem with a very modded install of CM. It would go to my decrepit CD drive left and right, nearly hanging the game at times. Then I just did a reinstall and now it works perfectly, never going to CD after I load the game up. WWB
  4. I post while I pretend to work. So what if the network crashed, my direct connection to the router is still going strong. WWB
  5. Well, I have a few: Reut Canal by Rune. It is insanely evil. Reportedly it can trigger insanity. Carentan v2: Came with the game. Great Op, gorgeous map. 21st Panzer Attacks: Great op of reasonable size. The Battle of Snoops Valleys by Johnno Conancat: not generally availiable yet, but it is a damn fine scenario. Should be availiable at the link in my sig. WWB
  6. Try pushing it down real good. My video card has an alarming tendency to get a bit loose in the slot, causing the dreaded 3 beep error code as well. Also, it might want an AGP pro slot. And it could also have something to do with the clock speed on your MoBo. WWB
  7. Actually, you can have scenarios without flags. Unfortunately, they are 2 player-only scenarios. This is because the AI is lost without flags to guide it. What I propose is giving scenario designers the ability to make 'AI flags' which are invisible to players and have no VP value, but would be treated by the Strat-AI as normal flags. WWB
  8. This was not really done in WW II. In the decades following the war and until the late 1960s when laser range finders became possible, it was used. The NATO 105mm L7 gun, used in Centurions and Pattons had a flat enough trajectory that ranging and targeting with a coaxial MG was effective. This technique was mainly used by the British and Israelis. WWB
  9. Well, what you fail to see is that you get the same 'free' shots. You just cannot tell if they are 'free' or not. You see, you can see your units, but you have no idea weather or not they have been spotted until they are shot at. Try plaing a hotseat game against yourself and you will see what is really going on. And replaying the turn several times is cheeting if I have ever heard of it.
