  1. Sorry I have not had this happen to me but here is my guess. When the Pershing fired it gun, the green troops panic and took off. Since they are green they have not been exposed to combat and did not know what is happening. The question is were the troops on the Sherman green? If so then as we use to say in boardgames, "You got a rotten roll of the dice". It happens. Eric
  2. I won't be buy CMBB for a couple of reasons 1. My computer won't run it (and with 2 kids in college and a 3rd getting ready for it next year) I don't have the money to upgrade the computer. 2. I have absolutely no interest in the Eastern Front. Eric
  3. When should we start bugging Battlefront for Combat Mission volumn 3. (I am probably going to piss someone off with this question) Eric
  4. I was playing a game against the German AI and I saw a Nashorn knock itself out. It had LOS to one of my tanks but when it fired it hit the corner of the building it was beside and KO'd itself. I thought it was weird when it didn't fire at me and it took a few viewings of the replay for me to figure out what happened. Eric
  5. Looking for a good infantry vs infantry scenario. I do fairly well (against AI) in combine arms but have trouble working out my infantry tactics. What I am looking for would be a small to medium map with not a whole bunch of troops to work on my manuvering units. Their should be no armor and perferably no pillboxes. Anyone know of a scenario that fits this bill. Eric
  6. Boy do I feel like a idiot . Did not bother to read all the posts before posting my own. Oh well, Eric
  7. Just tried to download "A Hell of a Licking" from scenario depot and could not. Download links to combatmissions.net which I believe is not around anymore . Anyone know where else to get it? Eric
  8. Maybe he got hit in the eye by a bee and ducked down to clear his eye. Eric
  9. I know they are out there. I remember seeing at least one cover for the CD jewel case that could be downloaded, but I can't find them. Anyone know a site that has them (I would prefer one with an allied design)? Thanks, Eric
  10. Went to Scernio Depot to download but could not find a Battle or Operation titled Wrong Hill. What is the correct name or where is it available? Thanks, Eric
  11. Has anyone been able to get to Military Gamer online lately? I might have the wrong URL but I tried getting there from the Boots & Tracks link on Combat Missions HQ and got a "could not find" page. Eric
  12. In one battle I was playing one of my 50 cal units knocked out a Wespe with a side shot. Not only knocked it out but the Wespe actually blew up in flames. Eric
  13. I am playing thru the Team Desobry(sp?) Operation and was wondering why BTS did not model star shells for night battles. I know the US used them and think the Germans had something similar. Any opinions? I suspected it might have been to hard to model correctly but just curious. Eric
  14. Venjra, Not sure who's kit you were looking at (never heard of the company). Main question would be are you comparing an M4A1 75mm to a M4A1 76mm. The 76mm vehicle used a different hull and turret the the 75mm version (larger hatches in the hull and totally different shape of the turret). While I will not say the vehicles are perfectly modeled in CMBO, they are as close as possible with the current technology. By the way, this should have been posted to the general section of the DGs. No big deal but you get quicker responces when posting in the right group. Eric
  15. OK. I just read Wild Bill's post and think I have done what he suggested but still have a question. Is there a fast way to self test a scenario to see if you have a balance unit battle? I know it's not ready to have anyone else try it yet, but before I get much further I would like to know if I have to adjust the amount of units. Thanks, Eric
  16. OK I maybe wrong about what CMBO calls a Daisy Chain mine but I read in a book about the Battle of the Bulge that what the author called Daisy chain mines were mines somehow attached to each other that were dragged across a road. From what I remember it was for quick road blocks and worked best in a night defense position. When they were used during the daylight it was to cause the Germans to have to send out troops to clear them and slow down the armor. If this is what CMBO models then it would explain why they are so easily spoted. They are just sittin on top of the ground. Eric
  17. OK I am not familiar with Der Kessel's site. What's the address? Thanks, Eric
  18. I thought I would throw this topic out and see what happens (also might find some new sites). What I mean by style wise is how the site is presented. I am not talking about downloads and mods but overall presentation. My favorites are (in no order): Tom's Combat Mission Headquarters www.combat-mission.com (boring title but got to love the newspaper style for the index) Combat Missions Like I said this has nothing to do with amount of downloads or mods just how the site strikes my fancy. So let's hear what sites you like. Eric
  19. I would have to say that destroying any type of tank without anything but grenades to be very hard. There are many examples of immobile shermans being attack by Japanese units without anti-tank weapons and not being destroyed. As to shooting the crew through the vision ports, I think this is more Hollywood then real life. All a commander would have to do is use their periscopes to see what was going on (OK, I don't know alot about German armor, so I don't know for sure if Tigers had periscopes). Anyone dumb enought to open something while surrounded should be shot by their own crew. Just my 2 cents worth. Eric
  20. Please send me a copy Eric pem4a1@home.com
  21. I did look thru the manual before posting but was not sure what was mention was all that was available. Also there was no drawings or photos of the icons themselves so I was not 100% sure and thought it best to ask. Eric
  22. OK I've been playing for over a year and just finished a game and could not figure out an US ammo icon. US paratroop squad that had an what I thought was an extra bazoka round icon. I figure it was extra ammo for the bazoka teams when they ran out. Tried moving my squad next to the empty bazoka unit but nothing happen. Now I think it might have been rifle grenades. Is it possible in the game for squads to carry extra ammo for the bazokas? And if so how do you supply them with your ammo? Eric
  23. OK time for some honesty amoung players. I would like to know if when you're playing a game against AI, how many will used the save command during the game and return to that turn if the battle doesn't go the way you want. I've done it a few times. What I usually will do is play out the game and if it doesn't turn out the way I thought, I will start from a saved turned to see what happens when I change things. I guess the habit of saving alot during a game comes from playing Gran Turismo on my Playstation. Just curious, Eric
