  6. Thanks for your help. Yes I'm converting an old PanzerBlitz scenario and was trying to figure out the weather on that date, I'll go with cold and damp. And for Rosenrosen, yes they can and it occurred in WWII also. Here the German's burn a special "Frogaust" truck, the smoke from which turns the frogs into Anti-soviet anti-personnel mines.

  9. Egads an unclear answer to my unclear question. My question was how many points decides whether the computer calls a scenario tiny, small etc. From what I see here it also seems to be a parameter of the size of the map selected.....hmmmmm
  10. Would a hobbit hole be as resistent to AT fire as a bunker or treated like a trench? so many things to ponder Can ents use flame throwers? And gee I justed wanted some rear area troops......

  13. Toe to toe in the game I worry less about the Americans than any other. Deadly artillery but weak in armour and anti-armour systems. There infantry has a lot of fire power however. Brits, there armour is often well protected and their artillery is deadly also. The silent PIAT can be dangerous. Russian, some nasty tank killers but their infantry lacks effect AT capablity and their arty is slow. However in the "real" world I'd want to fight the Brits (gentlemen ya know) the Americans and lastly the Russians
  14. Well I did have a cackle of manical laughter come out of the game when a large thumb came out of the sky and squashed my beloved tank. That and a message that flashed up from the AI during one of its more aggressive assaults, "Richards the IIs death will seem pleasant compare to what we will do to you" A bit unfriendly and gamey I think, who wrote the coding on this game any way the marquis de close combat?
  15. Danke, fur ihren gedanken As I understand your comments your saying an operation will not work in this way and only way to do this is a static battle? I was afraid of that. I tried some experiments and it didn't seem to work. Thanks for your expertise. Hans

  17. Since we're on artillery. A need to model counter-fire is necessary - and fire priority and FPF type missions. Sometimes the fire didn't come and sometimes you don't get as much as you want. All sides had target acquistion units using various methods to find and silence enemy mortars and arty. Use of your indirect against the enemy was one of the key decisions made by the commanders at all levels.

  19. I would like to design an operation where two sides start in the MIDDLE of the map, and then the sides will shift backwards and forwards depending on the fates of war. However I've noticed you can only seem to start at one end(West east south or north) Is there a clever way around this?
  20. T-34 versus Pz III I think the problem may be one of perception and the game environment. If I read them right the posts above say that at long range a T-34 is fairly invulnerable while at close range a T-34 starts looking like a Swiss cheese. I would say that during the actual war most engagement took place at longer range than what are normal in CMBB. Just a thought
