  1. Jeff...spot on with the 12 KT in the 1./sPzAbt 503 in Normandy... i was eyes wide shut last night....missed the diagram and issue table for that Komp. You are correct with the 12 KT , i did not notice that the other 2 "KTs" were infact Tiger Is in the 3rd Plt / 1./sPzAbt 503. If we accept that as the case then the new number for KTs that were in Normandy/NFrance from June-August is 45. Pz K Flk. 316 - 5 1./sPzAbt 503 -12 3./sPzAbt 503 -14 1./sSSPzAbt 101 -14 Total -45 Which then means about 198 KTs on the W.front -44/45 The KTs according to Tigers in Combat for the 1./sPzAbt 503 were numbered and organised as follows. HQ KTs - 100, 101 Ist Plt - KTs - 111, 112 , 113, 114 2nd Plt - KTs - 121, 122, 123 ,124 3rd Plt - KTs - 131 , 132 .- Tiger Is as - 133, 134. The 1st company suffered the following losses. 18.07.44 - KT 100 Falls into a bomb crater- later(18.08.44) blown up by crew. 18.07.44 - KTs 101 , 111 ko ( 111 blown up by crew on 18.08.44) 18.07.44 - KT 122 Rammed by Sherman - Blown up by crew(18.08.44) 18.08.44 - KT 113 Blown up by crew. 20.08.44 - KT 112 Blown up by crew. 20.08.44 - KT 124 Blown up by crew. So of the 12 used by the 1st Company , 7 KTs can be accounted for. As of 28.08.44 records show that the same company has no vehicles. So we have "5" outstanding KTs that are missing????? Taking 3./sPzAbt 503 and trying to follow their vehicle numbers we know that 2 KTs remained behind at Mailly Le Camp , off the remaining 12 KTs vehicle 311 was lost due to air attack and later captured, KT 334 breaks down and is later blown up So that leaves 10 KTs , which are later attacked by Jabos which damaged most of themwith the aid of AT and Artillery fire. Subsequently 8 KTs are blown up over the coming days due to lack of spares / fuel / damage and inability to recover. KT 300 blown up - Oinville. The last 2 remaining KTs under the command of Lt. Rambow make their way to Beauvais where the other tank suffers a broken track and is blown up. Lt .Rambows 3rd Plt KT make it as far as Amiens where it too is blown up. There is one case of a Tiger from sPzAbt 503 making it across the Seine and that was a Tiger I numbered "222" which crossed at Elbeuf on the 25th August with elements of 2. /& 3./ aSSPzAbt 101. It was later abandoned at Saussay la Champagne. On the 26th August American forces report an attack by " 15" Tigers - these are a combination of KTs from 1./sSSPzAbt 101 and 3./sPzAbt 503. According to "Combat History of sPzAbt 503" it assumes about 7 KTs each for both companies. If that were the case then where did the (2) extra 503s KTs come from...as by 20.08.44 (see above) its reported that the 3rd company has lost 7 out of 12 KTs....leaving a force of 5 KTs on strenght. Possible source from the 5 missing from the reports of 1./sPzAbt 503. This "may" also be the time span where sSSPzAbt 101 "obtains" the 2 ex 503 KTs?????? My head is wrecked trying to hunt down these bloody KTs.........Jason C .....Grrrrrrrrrr Regards Måkjager

KT 100 , 111 , 113 and 122 are blown up by demolition crews. 20.08.44 the KTs 112 & 124 are also demolished by crew memebers. 1st Kompanie has no tanks on this date..... 1st Company relocated from Pontoise to the Germany. 14 KTs lost mostly to crew demolition. 3./sPzAbt 503 receives 14 KT ( two with Henschel turrets) on the 31.07.44 2 KT suffer gear box damage during a propaganda demo.... they are left behind in Mailly Le Camp. 12.08.44 The12 KTs are entrained , train attacked by allied aircraft....KT 311 lost..it rolls off and over turns...its possible to upright it but its captured by the US Army on the 13.08.44 11 KTs arrive in Paris , KT 334 breaks down and is blown up by it crew. The 10 remaining KTs see combat service in the Pontoise sector between the 12-24.08.44 During this time the majority of the KTs are put out of action (9) by aircraft and are blown up by their crews. The one remaining KT makes it as far as Amiens where it has to be destroyed by it crew. The 2 KTs at Mailly Le camp are saved. On the 12th March/45 a transport of 13 KTs were sent to the 506th Abt. Of these 4 were used by rear elements of the 116th Pz Div / KG Dunker in Beckum. Lacking fuel they were used in the static role. That leaves one KT outstanding ???????. Total losses of KTs during MARKET GARDEN amount to 8 KTs with 2 returned to factory for major repairs. sPzAbt 507- Germany Between the 9-22-31/03/45 sPzAbt 507 obtained a total of 21 KTs. Details of KT losses are sketchy due to the unit also having 6 Tiger Is on strenght but the folowing is known. 31.03.45 - KTs ( 3 ) ko in an ambush near Hamborn. 11.04.45 - The last 2 KTs are handed over to Regt. Holzer ...one KT breaks down...crew killed by US soldiers(?) It is difficult to account 100% for what was actually lost , where and when due to my source not mentioning weather it is a Tiger or Kingtiger being lost at the time. The figure of 21 KTs is also open to debate as from the 22.03.45 there are 15 KTs on strenght...but there is no mention of where or when the other 6 KTs arrrive. Taking the information at hand once the 3 KTs which were ko on the 31.03.45 , that leaves 18 "Tigers" in service with the 507th. Minus the 6 Tiger Is we arrive at 12 KTs. Between 02.-11.04.45 these 18 "Tigers" suffer the following losses. 02.04.45 - Ko ( 5 ) "Tigers" 03.04.45 - Breakdown "Tiger" 05.04.45 - 2 damaged "Tigers " left behind in Borgholz. A 3rd "Tiger " is raked by a fighter. 06.04.45 - 1" Tiger" damaged 07.04.45 - 1 "Tiger" blown up by crew after running out of ammo. 08.04.45 - 1 immobilised "Tiger" destoyed by fighter bombers. 09.04.45 - 4 "Tigers" ko by Phosphor grenades. 11.04.45 - The last 2 KTs are handed over to Regt. Holzer ...one KT breaks down...crew killed by US soldiers(?) I am not even going to attempt to do the % on this Its late....i need me sleep.....will do my best to getthe info on the other formations ie sSSPzAbt 501 etc as soon as possible....though i do know 3./sPzAbt 510 - Germany The 3rd Kompanie is ordered to report to Henschel factory in Kassel....pick up 6 KTs. Vehicle abandoned in Stavelot. 18.12.44 Technical damage to KT 332 on th Trois Points-La Gleize road junction. Vehicle abandoned. KT "008: abandoned by crew near Trois Points- later immobilised by its crew. 19.12.44 KT "222" ko near bridge in Stavelot . Abandoned 11(12?) 24.4%(26.6%?) Others 2 4.4% - These are the 2 left with 340th-VGD Survive 30 KTs 66% Counting the above we get a total of 46(?) KTs....not sure where the extra KT comes from. In summary So taking the above information we arrive at 200 Kingtigers employed/deployed in the West- covering Normandy-France-Ardennse-Arnheim-Germany etc. The majority of the Kingtigers that wer lost seem to be due to abandonment/self destruction due to inability to recover. I am bleary eyed at the moment so please forgive me if i have made a mistake or two It would seem that approx. 33 KTs 'survived" ie the 30 from sSSPzAbt 501 and the 3 KT from France(...though i am sure they were also eventually lost) 200 deployed 167 lost 83.5% 33 survived 16.5% I will let somebody else work out the combat and abandonment loss %. I need sleep after 7 bloody hours puting this together.....and i should be making mod!!!!!!!! Regards Måkjager
  3. Here is clearer shot of some of the variants. As for "Mod God" status re: JP...that sits very uneasily on me head....i would prefer "Dedicated Doodler" ...besides...you could make a monster...and we all know where you keep monsters....locked up Thanks for all the encouraging words guys.....i just try to do my best for ye. Re: bfamily33 and bump.......well , the JP will get the winter treatment from a fellow modder with a G in his name ....and i may dip my toes into the snow as well. Splinty....like all good ambushes......TIME is the key word...all in good time my dear fellow. Even though these mods look complete..there are still many hours work left to do before i unleash em...so please be patient. Regards Måkjager
  4. Well Andrew.....the egg come's first....because you do have to have a certain streak of madness running through your head to even contemplate doing a mod I hope you dont take up anything wrong from my previous post or misunderstand what i was trying to explain ( see there is the madness again ) when talking about the methods used to make mods. What I was trying to say is that the expectation that a modder can make a "realistic" looking mod that has the same quality of a good cut and paste project ( ie an actual colour photograph of either a real vehicle or a scale model ) is just next to impossible. I did not intend to demean anybody else's work...and i hope it has not been taken that way by anybody here. I am well aware of what it takes to make "cut and paste" mods...and i have the upmost respect for anybody willing to have a bash at it and succeed...."RESPECT MAN" I think the thrust of LGs thinking was that he would like mod's that are based on "real world vehicles"with "real world mud" to help complement the rest of the mods that he seem's to prefer. Unfortunately our old pal T has left...for how long nobody knows. Tiger was and is very good at his method of mod making...and its more the pity that he is not around at the moment to help take the strain.. In my mind a "real" mod is anything that can seduce you into believing you have the Mr McCoy right in front of you on the screen I dont think it is a case of "real" vs "cut and paste" but more so photographic quality vs digital paintbrush and its ( digital paintbrush) limitations in presenting to the end user a finished product that will ALWAYS look slightly out of place when placed along side a "mod" based on a 3d object. At the end of the day it is down to personal preference and everybody has the choice of weather they want to use X, Y or Z mod....and if they dont have the choice and still feel something is lacking....thats the time to try your hand at making a mod. So to all the people who do give their time up to try make this fantastic game a better experience.....HATS OFF and HipHip Hooooray to ye Anyway.....i am starting up a "Fellowship of Mod" ....sort of like a Wizards Guild....care to join ? Regards Måkjager
  5. What tri colour panther is that Pzwfer ??? I released the Panther G with zimmerit a long while back...the wiggly Panther A should be along soon...so that leaves???? I have started doing a Late Panther G with the same/similar cammo as the early Panther G.. with Zimmerit coating as well ( just dont tell the Grogs ) Regards Måkjager
  6. Nice shot of a ko Panther G with 3 tone cammo...and as for the green Stug III Thanks for the alert Regards Måkjager
  7. Andrew...welcome to the "House of Insane Modder's" ;-D I have a spare straitjacket if you require it...mine is quite cosy regards Måkjager
  8. Some fuzzy pix of progress so far. Tools / tracklinks/ gun cleaning rod holder added....some weathering /mucking up of wheels...wondering if you prefer to have a choice of clean/dirt wheels in same zip ? Got to work on the rear of the mods now...choice of vehicle numbers / kill rings etc Winter production due to start next week Regards Måkjager
  9. If my memory serves me correctly Magua's German HT and Kwazys Jagdpanther are excellent cut and paste's of 1/35th scale MODELS. If you tried to get that amount of detail and lighting effects in by making a "hand made mod" you would be waiting for the cows to come home. Remember too that essentially bmps are flat...you have to work your butt off to try and get something approaching a visual image that would pass the test of identifying it as a particular vehicle. I am all the more awed with Marcos skill in working wonders with the Allied armour( u too Gordon ). You cannot imagine how hard it is to try make a decent mod...hours , days weeks...sometimes even months. I can understand your view point Lord General in that you want a certain look and constant WOW factor...but there is only a certain amout you can do using a digital paint brush. Just as in the Modelling World , we here in CM land have 2 schools of practice.....cut and pastte or original/semi hand made, For the first you need very good quality photos of all the sides of the vehicle you intend to mod...then spend time cutting and fitting.. This is an art in its self and requires a large amount of effort. Making a mod by hand is a whole new ball game....not only have you to get the colours right , add detail , test fit ...but also worry about lighting effects , shadows etc. All this is already completed for you i f you use a photo...but if you make a mod by hand...well that is up to the modders skill on how well he is able to do it. It will ALWAYS be a matter of opinion regarding what looks best..... Marco has sought to make his mods with a compromise of good detail and light weathering...and i support him in that...besides there is not a lot of "wheel" on most of the Allied vehicles to mud up. Continue to make them Marco so as they please YOU...other wise you will go around the twist running from Billy to Jack. Regards Måkjager ps...i am not ranting against anybody...just trying to show that there is another side to the story.
  10. Hi all , i am currently trying to make up my mind ( ie...need help and opinions ) in regards to optional vehicle numbers for the Jagdpanther mod that is WIP at the moment. Originally i thought ..lets go with the standard 3 digit numbering system...though this still leads to the problem of if you have more than one JP in a game with the same vehicle number( and no doubt will send Grogs into a frenzy of NO NO NO and a bit of head banging ) it will look odd. So that leaves me with the option of using ONLY the company number as a single didgit recognition device. If we go that route.....where would you prefer the number.... off to the left side ( right side i hope to add a spade) or on the rear escape hatch??? Would you prefer Black with white outlines or Red with white ??? Another possability is is to use Roman numerals ....or capital letters a la Kwazy's Tiger...or even letter and single number...example A2 where first company is A and platoon is 2...but not place the vehicle number . These are just a few ideas i am kicking around in my head....i would like to make as many options possible ...but i will be limited with my phone as to the size and number of the mods i am willing to upload.( currently if i get them all done there will i think be something like10MB of Jagdpanther mods  ) Therefore if we can settle on an agreed approach i will make 4 rear bmps... The first will be just plain no number or marking ...while the other 3 will allow you to chose 1st , 2nd or 3rd company vehicles...does that make sense. This approach will be applied to ALL the mods...so each mod will have optional numbers or none....same goes for kill rings on the gun barrel. Regarding the plea's of those people who LIKE MUCK....i will see what i can do....mb optional clean-ish / dirty side /front/rear bmps so as everybody can pick and choose the way they want their JP to look.. Regards Måkjager
  11. AHHHHH yes Joe...the days of having clear blue sky with the imac ....fond memories Andrew...i did MY NUT when i first got CM...imac REV D -256MB RAM....chiriping birds and nothing else. EVENTUALLY i got a strange work around which allowed me to play it...ii had to double load CM. I would start it up as normal...get to the loading 3d graphics screen....nothing happens...so then i hit ECS....and start up CM again... This time i would be able to play it....and there would be 2 CM in the finder. All my problems were solved when the OpenGl 1.2.2 arrived regards Måkjager

  19. Dough..for a small fee...anything is possible ( joke ). Seeing as you asked..thaat will be no problem..cept it "may" take me a bit longer to do vis a vis weathering etc.. For those who asked.......a Cross to bear CMMOS.....will have to consult with my "PC" guru . regards Måkjager

There will also be a red brown / dark yellow and tri colour cammo version...mb evenn a winter one as well I have based this mod around ones that seen service with sPzJg Abt 654 in Normandy... i am even trying my hand at drsigning a scenario with em in it "Debut at Caumont" which i "may" include in the final version of the mod. 22. Hi all....progress is being made on this mod... a Zimmerit covered Jagdpanther. I had intended to do it after my Marder/Wespe...but decided to put that on the back burner for now. many hours work left to do.... insignia , battle damage , details , tools , tracklinks etc all have to be added...and dirt too Grateful thanks to Fernando for his permission to use parts of his Panther mono colour series mods. regards Måkjager
  23. According to what BTS has said in past posts regarding vehicles in CMBB...the Brummbär and Sturmtiger will both be in Regards Måkjager
  24. Hi Panzer Leader..in regards to the Vanguard GD book.....its worth while if you are a collector of those books in the series...it gives general understanding of what the GD was , were it was employed and what it was equipped with at those times. It also describes the GD Pz Korps with a run down on its components and where they fought. On the whole i suspect you woud be disappointed with it after that "TOME" you just bought. I picked up my copy of the Vanguard GD book a few years back for about £4 at a Military Model show. Regards Måkjager
  25. Congrats on the GD books Pz Leader...hope you have many hour's of happy reading. I have that Vanguard Number 2 book " Grossdeutschland" as well as its companion FsPzDiv "HG". Email me if you want a quick run down. Regards Måkjager
