  1. Battlefront's argument for not coding in tank riding in CMBN is their same argument for not coding in horses and motorcycles in CMx1: battle has been joined and thus there's no need to display transport capabilities that would not be important to actually fighting a battle.

I think the real reason is all the work involved in making decent animations of the men climbing on and off.

  2. Don't you get this? Game, engine improvements, bugfixes are not part of a module.

They're part of the patch that was simultaniously and will be released simultaniously.

What these improvements will is yet totally unknown to us mortals.

I remember though, that someone of the staff has mentioned nothing was done on spotting issues, which is kinda sad imho.

To clear this up a bit, AFAIK, the patch will only contain bug fixes and tweaks, not enhancements or new features. Those are part of a new game, not a module. The patch is automatically incorporated into the module. It is available as a separate download for those that choose not to purchase the module.

This doesn't mean that BFC will never include game enhancements in a patch or module, but since they said it is not their intent to do so, you should not expect it. And if you don't expect it then you can't be disappointed.

  3. I really like CMBN. I have no problems at all with the interface and I don't understand what those who do have problems with it are doing. But I am not having as much fun with CMBN as I did with CMx1. I think it simply comes down to the fact that CMBN is more challenging, which I think is a combination of 1:1 modelling - which means I am more aware of my losses, and that the AI is so much better - especially its effective use of arty. I find myself getting discouraged too easily. I also miss the simplicity of CMx1's quick battles. I am still struggling a bit with the force selection. I tried a few QBs under 1.01 and the automatic force selection is unsatisfying. I will continue to play CMBN for years to come, and I look forward to the modules to flesh out the forces, but I am not having as much fun as I did in CMx1. I hope that will change over time as I become more familiar with and get used to it.
