PzKpfw 1, I am sure you are correct. I stated that the J wasn't available becuase when I changed the time period on the scenario editor to 6/44 there were no Js in the available equipment list.

I always enjoy watching Stalag 13 when it is on TV. There is no combat, but I think it's a good movie.

I played a few turns but I felt there were too few American troops so I went into the editor. I added a couple of reinforcement points at various locations on the beach with a reinforced company at each reinforcement location. I also deleted the German 88mm AT guns and added more MG, 75mm, and 88mm pillboxes. The result is that there are way too many targets for the German guns to handle at once, but the Germans have enough firepower to keep most of the advancing troops supressed. I have played a few turns as the Germans this way and it seems to be working well. I also added an Allied exit zone behind the German lines to give the US troops more incentive to advance. The only problem I am having is that the US troops are breaking under fire and are running parallel to the cliffs instead of trying to move towards the exit. I think I am going to make all the US troops crack or elite so they don't break so easily. That should keep them moving. I suppose if I palyed as the Americans I could keep the men headed in the right direction, but I think it is more than they can handle as regular quality troops.
One thing I have to point out is that you have the setting as November 1944 instead of June 1944. The two German tanks are Panzer IVJs, which I don't think were available yet.
Also, they haven't gotten involved in the action yet, so I don't know what role they will play, but I don't think the US paratroops should be in the scenario. Historically, I don't think any paratroops were actually involved in the action on the beach. I could be wrong. I guess some troops up on the cliffs to represent Rangers would be appropriate.

Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland were on Jay Leno Tuesday night and Jay mentioned Kelly's Heroes. They were fielding questions from the audience, and I was waiting for someone to ask Sutherland to say, "It's a mother-beautiful bridge, and its gonna be THERE!" But it didn't happen.

Would it be when the German tank commander blows open the bank doors so the Americans can steal the gold, or when he sells his Tiger to the Americans (even if the fuel system did leak all over the place)?

I overheard in the restroom at work that BTS is working out a deal with Dell to create a limited edition Dell CM 2000 model. It comes pre-loaded with CM and has a 64MB G-Force 2 and a kick-ass speaker system. S-2 inside.

I use all the mods except the hi-res grass because my system can't handle it.
Hint: back up your wav and bmp folders before you install a mod so you can restore them if you don't like the change.

Yes, we all knew that, but no, we won't laugh. There are several sounds that are very "similar" to what I've heard in another very popular recently (1998) released war film.

Does the DVD have 5 view levels and zoom? I can't watch combat footage anymore if it's not in CM format
I'll have to order it. My DVD collection will include Kelly's Heros, A Bridge Too Far, Saving Private Ryan, Stalingrad, and Gallipoli. I think a pattern is developing.

I have seen hand grenades destroy tanks in CM on several occasions.
How much armor is on the bottom of a tank? Could a grenade rolled under a tank penetrate the bottom?

I stopped building models when I went to college, but I recently became interested when my parents sold their house and I found all the models I built and the ton of kits I never built. Some of them are quite valuable now. There are tons of kits and accessories for sale on E-Bay.

In one scenario I have an 88mm bunker. On the first turn I always take out the Sherman 105 because I assume it is the greater threat, but the Stuart next to it never fails to kill my bunker on the next shot. I guess bunkers are pretty easy to knock out if you are the AI.

I find that I forget to eat when so completely engrossed in CM.

You mean the beaches in Normandy weren't covered with chest high wheat in 6/44? Maybe the invasion should have been rescheduled for November.
I guess I shouldn't have questioned Fox's decision... the map is a work of art.
