  1. Edwin, that looks reasonable to me. Only thing I’d add is greater variability to when the AI tries again. Maybe that sub got sick of waiting around after only 1 or 2 unsuccessful turns.
  2. Nothing wrong with improving the AI, Rambo. It's what new customers play first. Ya want a SC3 or not?
  3. Heh, think you did it right by resisting raiding early. Save the subs till after France goes down and your BB's show up. Btw, Spain and Portugal make a very nice base for subs. Gonna dump some mpp in diplo?
  4. Personally, I don't see a problem with either one. Germany had 156,000 casualties in France. Casualties were much lighter in Poland, but they still lost about a third of their armor. How do you propose to have this reflected?
  5. Well, you could say that CV's are relatively cheap. You get an air fleet for only an extra 50 MPP over BB. Having ships "heal" in port is an interesting idea, but I'd only like to see it go up to 5 max, or port strength perhaps. Keep in mind it will unbalance the game in favor of Allies, as they have the larger Navy, and will take a great burden off of the UK.
  6. Norway, the largest prison camp of the war. Churchill just might have been correct at those MPP rates.
  7. Looks like Liam is just going to have to eat the MPP loss at this point and go for a bombing campaign in the West.
  8. Nah, there's plenty of places to choke all over the map.

  11. The old joke is if you want an atomic bomb in a wargame, just light the map on fire.
  12. Heh, try it. If you can safeguard the first three till after France goes down, and build another one or two to go with, you got UK by the short hairs.
  13. I was taking 75 MPP a turn off of the UK with only three level 3 subs. At that point, I'd rather take my chances in a US transport. At least I'd know where the subs are. On the dang convoy lanes!
  14. We were bandying around the idea of having the lanes show up for Axis if they had a Intel advantage. Or maybe Advanced Subs instead if that would unbalance Intel. But agreed it shouldn't be a given for Axis. Good that it's being addressed. Now I can go back to designing other stuff, which will make the boss ecstatic.
  15. But the units wouldn't come out of the UK factories quicker than the US ones, so you'd probably be better off still making them in the US, as you have now lost a turn by sending the points to UK. Not to mention feeding the U-boats. I'd only send that amount if UK had higher tech in something I wanted, otherwise it's mainly just for replacements.
  16. First off, only trying to help make improvements, so don't get all in a snit. When playing as Allies the naval turn goes something like this, 1. Go to War Map. 2. Flip to Convoy Map to see routes. 3. Back to War Map to find ship locations. 4. Back to game map and move first ship to hopefully close to the convoy route. 5. Back to War Map, then on to Convoy Map, then flip back and forth with War Map to see if you're near it. 6. Back to game map, move next ship. 7. Repeat ad nauseum. It's almost as bad for the Axis, but at least the location of the U-boats show up on the Convoy Map. The ideal solution would of course be to have the convoy routes on the game map, tied to Intel Tech for Axis display, and randomly moving over time, as was discussed earlier in a different thread. However, until then, for a quick fix, please have Allied ships show up on the Convoy Map and save us some button clicking. And for either player, spotted enemy shipping and air units should show up too.
  17. So you agree surprise is no longer an issue? Very good then, you're making progress.
  18. And yet, ironically enough, life never takes you seriously. </font>

  24. Look, I understand what you're saying, but if you want diplo to work in the game like you seem to think it should, i.e. being a surprise, then the percentages on the screen shouldn't update AT ALL due to opponent's successful actions. Let the player be lulled into a false sense of security until sudden activation. That would come as a shock. But as it is, you're just forcing me to play dip & twiddle with the buttons. And that's poor design.
  25. Again, where's the surprise? If I check the numbers every turn, there is NO SURPRISE. You're arguing for something that's not even there.
