Liam, I've got to agree with Desert Dave here. You're out to lunch, sub were always meant to be capital ship killers from their very inception. Pre-war, the idea was they were to be scouts for the fleet, trading on their greatest asset, stealth. And if they could take out a BB along the way, what admiral is going to complain about that? Just because they were relegated to mostly a commerce raider role due to circumstances, doesn't mean that's how they were originally designed or intended to be used.

Worry about your flanks a little bit more? Look, as Rolend already pointed out in another thread, you can just load up the starting forces and march on Moscow. The game A.I. isn't balanced for this (the victory patch will help) and I don't know how it could be, unless you want about ten armies to materialize out of thin air.

I think you should take a look at the number of aircraft on a Brit carrier in WWII and then consider what attacking even a Corps sized unit would do to it.
