  1. 3 for sure. One does the odd jobs or goes to Russia. Sooner or later he's slated for the West though. If you're not going to run an air defense in the West early, no need to leave him sitting there. Buy AA, it's cheaper.
  2. 4 German, 1 Italian (although you can get away with 3 German if West is broken). 4 Russian, 1 Brit, 1 American (maybe buy another American, but only near the end).
  3. Supply of 5 and city must be at 50%. If railheads on, must be on or next to a city to boot.
  4. Hmm, still think it would be easier to just remove USSR surrender. But perhaps give a mmp bonus to Axis for taking Leningrad/Moscow/Stalingrad. Then you'd get in to the more historical German plan to defend the Volga-Archangel Line. Heck, they didn't think the Russians would surrender either. Germans would now need to blow the mpps on a Engineer to free up forces for the West, Russians are going to need time to rebuild. To keep the Russians from just gamily retreating with everything and coming back for a head-cracking later, get rid of the cheap rebuild price if they lose the main objective cities. Now both sides really have something to fight for.
  5. With a Engineer, could be. But remember, you're playing for a draw, so run the clock on him.
  6. So you're saying it's better to run into that rifle fire a little obliquely? Hmm…
  7. Looks like small beer to me. After Russia goes the major units come out and they're enough to crush UK as is. Any partisans you have popping up, even if in massive numbers, will not change the outcome. Out of supply partisans against Level 3 Corps equals a waste of my time, no matter which side I'm playing. You'd be better off removing Russian surrender altogether if that's the effect you want to create. Have Lend Lease supply come in on the Trans-Siberian RR (if Murmansk is gone). And make it hurt for the US to do it (having to reflag vessels).
  8. Depends on the game. This ain't chess, dealing with luck is part of it.
  9. How about we have boxing kangaroos mock him at the hangi...er, trial? Sorry, got a little ahead of myself there.
  10. HQ variability is an interesting idea. And they all should be unknown. The only thing I'd add to your thoughts Edwin is that the rating should appear after the first major "loss" of unit strength or perhaps the whole unit. After all, if your incompetent leader is winning, you ain't gonna fix it.
  11. American Revolution comes to mind. Or Britian declaring war on France. Or Spain. Or Germany. Pretty sure I can think of lots more.
  12. Research long range air or amphib tech. Nothing for the transport, but they go a long way as is.
  13. What I want is a game where I don't feel like quitting my first HvH game before even Barbarossa because of bad luck, that's what I want... Variability in HvH should come from the players, not from bad luck. But that's my last post about it, lol, I don't want to sound like a whiner (probably too late, hehe). </font>
  14. One of your better descriptions, and in this case, quite apt </font>
  15. Whoops, you are correct. I misread the formula above that. May have confused it with the old system to boot. Still, I'm luckier than you.
  16. Umm, you're first mistake is you didn't have a 20% chance. IIRC, it's 5% + 4% + 3% + 2% + 1% for a total of 15%. There's a bit of diminishing returns there. You would have been wiser to spread your bets, as that last chit was very expensive, it only gave you a 1% chance (although eventually rising to 5%). Whereas, if you had put it into, say, Heavy Tanks, you would have gotten a 4% "bonus" for the same money right away. [ January 03, 2007, 08:51 AM: Message edited by: Lars ]
  17. Who wears short shorts OGSF wears short shorts They're such short shorts We hate short shorts Who wears short shorts OGSF wears short shorts. Gaah…I need some of that whiskey now…
  18. I spent New Year's Eve in a hot tub drinking champagne and watching scantily clad young women make snow angels during a blizzard. Odd, was just like last New Year's Eve.
  19. I carried my debate reference boxes to the chess matches and my chess books to the debates. Jocks feared me. I could tell.
