  1. For ever it is worth he has always answered any e-mail I send fast-- I gotone of the messed up cd and he ahs been very prompt about my questions
  2. me too I also would like it:) ljtharpe74@earthlink.net
  3. Just putting it out will suit me -- as I am still fighting on the one you made for CMBO-- it is great fun-- I had some Para come behind German lines in the wood park areas like a para drop-- cool
  4. Just finished the strict version -- it was fun:) * * * * * * * * * * * spolier -- I was into the battle all the way never lost interest-- I was always hoping to really win-- I was over run through the wheat field-- my armor was all finally knocked out but one stug- but one MK4 got every one of the russian assult guns and half tracks- he singlehandedly got them-- anyway I got a tactical- 69 -31-- ok i am not so good --but the game was fun -- thanks i enjoyed it and will play the new asap.
  5. I will give it try -- I had the same battle in SP at one time and it was fun-- ljtharpe74@earthlink.net
  6. I have read the varying responses on this unfortunate turn of events concerning this game-- I personally am not bothered as it will rightly worked out --you can depend on that --that is the nature of matt and all of the others at BFC-- I made two battles and played until about one this morning -- I will down load the rest tonight --I think -- anyway it will all be ok. and yes I will be ready to buy and play the next one too
  7. I just got the game this afternoon and after several tries and trying several different ways -- i get to the same point every time wav\00092502 wav error cannot read-- I am in TN/ UsA-- I have a dell 8100 P4 1.5 --256 ram G force vid card 32 meg OS is Windows ME -- never have had even a burp until now of course-- i made a battle with the editor and it seems to play fine but no battles or operations?
  8. By biggest game I mean points and or map -- I was given a great map of Berlin but I can not remember who (I lost my e-mails so I can not give him credit)-- anyway it is about 2500 x2500 and I am using 17,000 allied and 10,000 axis-- 60 turns- it will take awhile but I will enjoy-- just curious --
  9. The allies rearely met the Jagdtiger--but they did have to try to come down an auto bahn against some -- Albert Ernst was the commander -- if you want to have some fun-- get the Autobahn operation from the Scenario Depo put 3-4 J- Tigers at one end + some support and reenforcments and advance-- this is fun and hard . It was originally an operation so just change it to suit you. i gave my self the US with some Pershings --lots of Arty and tried to move down this beautiful valley. I have played this many times with many changes -- the map is one of the prettiest I have seen -- try it --you might like it.
  10. I rarely post prefering to listen and learn but as BTS and us move from one game to hte next and yes I have preordered here are some things I have learned -- 1. the Brits have really cool armor to play with -- for city fights--love that churchill croc-- 2.the uber tanks are not always so uber-but when they --they really are-- 3. It is not the Sherman i feel sorry for, it is the poor ole MK4 no wonder they called them mess kit tins ( from The Guns of Normandy) -- as to the on going and soon to be continuning they do not shoot good enough-- they shoot too good-- all have to say is if tungston was as good as it is in the games i have played -wow. The germans should have had tungsten fear instead of Allied having Tiger fear. 3. I have learned that for the first time I can see what I see on a documentary--many times I will watch and watch and just be amazed at finally seeing what I have been reading about all these years. 4. i have learned " I love Arty" give me enough guns and you can stop most anything. In Against the Panzers-- the authors make the comment that with arty support the allied could always hold the German attacks--their words not mine.-5. I have learned that the real limits of the game with map maker etc is my little mind. add the mods that are avaiable and wow. 6. I have learned that a few little changes --change the game almost completely-- I like the what if's -- by letting the re enforcements come in some where behind your lines in a city fight --it is like they have used the sewer or subway-for allied re-enforcements put air borne in the city on an early turn- and then you have to take the city and fight to them --I am sure others ahve figured this out but it is what I have learned-- 7 Last but not least -- I have learned to say Thanks thanks to the modders and to BFC. this is really quite a game thanks PS To all who wonder should I still buy CMBO yes!!!!!!
  11. I had a called in a 150 mm rkt strike and had a flak wagon, three platoons of troops some HQ types and an od panzerfaust or two and the strike was right on for deflection but several hundred yards short and i lost all of that in that salvo. and it really put a hole in my assualt
  12. If you have tiger's in combat 2 there is a picture of a KT with the left front of the turret holed page 294 alas it does not tell what did it-- also on the Russian Battlefield read " Was the Tiger really King?" It is nothing but firing tests and they found that the 76 could get through the flat turret front it is in a picture in the article which I down loaded and put in my copy of Tigers n Combat --
  13. 48 ain't that great!! do not know the rest but I know CMBO has pretty much ruined most every other game for me-- except for a little SPww2-- or an occasional sim PE. & EAW-- it is CMBO & BTS all the way! Bring on CM2 scooby doo!!
  14. I too enjoyed ABH-- I would try--- I have just read Zaloga's Lorrine book and was wanting to do something toward this-- so I am interested.
  15. Here, here, well deserved!!!!!!!!!! But the writer of the article or some one has labeled a Panther as a Tiger --oh well-- we won --also notice that they highly rated a another independent war game Steel Beasts -- so the little guys can and do win. thanks again BTS on to CM2!!!! and a another winner.
  16. I have played this about 5 times -- at first I did well even with an M-8 as he got two King Tigers from the side by him self -- but then I gave the Ai + 3 in experience and boy was it a different game-- I got easily beaten -- which is how it really happened-- my favorite scene was when one of the KT's came down the road after one of the shermans -- after a 76 rico'ed off the front armor- the Sherman poped smoke and reversed -- the KT came through the smoke down the road with 88's and mg's going and got the sherman a truck and an HT-- it was an interesting sight to see the tracers come through the smoke followed by the source ---the KT-- it was cool glad it was not real but it is fun in this game.
  17. While I have not set up a test-- in playing "Holiday Bank" and I lost three tanks at the ranges up to 1789 meters and got nothing ( I have not finished that one yet)-- In Whitmann at Villers Bocage-- I usually do not last long as the Germans but when I play as the Brits-- the game usually goes the distance-- with about two to one in kills in favor of the Germans-- In Paderborn when I gave the computer +3 I was killed easily-- but not until then -- I have version 1.05 btw it seems to me that with more experince to the AI his armor ( tigers) become much harder to kill than at none or +1 etc. they seem to resist being penetrated- although I realize that should not be the case.
  18. This is posted for interest not a COMPLAINT!! I have been playing CMBO about 5 times a week since november 13-- my 48th birthday-- and basically nothing else-- anyway I was playing WBW's secnario on Paderborn having read several accounts of it in the past. I hope this is not a spolier so here goes. I was leading with the sacrifical M-8 but boy was I to be surprized. As the King Tigers began their attack I began to lose units. That was expected. Anyway at the end of one of the turns there was a knocked KT. HMMM? How I wonder ?-- thanks to the great replay feature-- I found that my Sacricial Lamb of an M-8 got the KT at 66 meters through the left turret side.. then low and behold my Lamb M-8 got a second KT the same way with this one being a " brew up". Wow-- talking about the lamb that roared. well it must have inspired my 76 mm Shermans for they got two KT with front turret pentrations--one at about 120 meters and the other one at 320 meters. then the "capper" if one can top the M-8 was a 76mm got a Kt with a lower front hull pentration at 300 meters or so. Wow these guys are good. I am sure they were using some of the few tungston rounds on board. I would It is a shame the orignial battle did not go that way. BTW I will play this secnario many more time to see how it goes. I tend to do that because the game is so good -- so at this rate I will niot have played this all of CMBO before CM2 comes out. Anyway CMBO has given me a whole new look at heavy German Armor. Even my favorite the Tiger 1 has been killed by a 75 mm Churchill at 60 meters though the left front turret--mantle and all it. One last thing go to the Russian Military Zone ( I do not have the URL with me but it is easy to find) and under weapons there is a good article( several really) with pictures entitled" Was the Tiger Really King" The pictures are of a live fire test on a captured KT. To quote my children-- "CMBO ROCKS!" Although it shows me some strange things sometimes. Sorry to be a little long.
  19. while Cmbo has pretty much killed everything for me -- I still play Sp from the camo workshop some-- I have SpWaW but tend to play the other more -- partially because the camo workshop version only needs 26 megs on my hard drive -- CMBO has really changed everthing for me--good game
  20. I saw an earlier post with something from the desert fox site -- were would I find that site -- it looked interesting thanks
  21. The Pershings also met the Tiger one at Elsdorf and there one Pershing got a tiger 1 and two Pz 4s--( the Tiger was knocked out through the bottom of the front turret mantle, the bottom left side) the Pershing should have no real trouble with the Tiger as it was to meet it and better it but -- not the Tiger 2-- Hunnicutt who wrote a history of the Pershing rated the Pershing over the Tiger 1 but a little behind the Panther -- I have tried the Tiger 2 and the super Pershing and did not do well-- I immoblized one but lost four super Pershings in the process-- I have tried Pershings and Panthers and did fine on the Panthers.
  22. In the book "Pershing" by R P Hunnicutt-- he says the difference between the 2650 and 2800 fps load was the powder charge-- not so much barrell length-- although in the so called super Pershing they did both by giving the gun a long --L70+ barrell length and two part ammo with much more powder giving about 800 or 900 more fps-- except for the Tungston ammo the normal apbc was soft which limited it's performance some what at least in the normal loads of 2650 and 2800-- the Pershing and it's gun was aimed at matching the tiger I and it's gun which they did but Hunnicutt gives the Panther the edge in frontal protection
  23. A good friend who lives in the next town from me, was in a Sherman Jumbo at the end of the war-- his Lieutenant wanted to lead the column and took over his tank-- as it rounded the next curve, an 88 went through the front ( all he said) and killed all of them in the tank- the LT lived lived less than five minutes after changing with SGt. Clark-- I do not know what kind of 88-- or if it was an 88 -- for him every thing was an 88 anyway -- it got through the frontal armor of the Jumbo what ever it was-- do not know the range either. Good but sad story.
