  1. Hmmm this echoes a thought I have been playing around with for some time: Creating a mod that turns the factory into a rather more nondescript building... that way it could be used (as it often is anyway) to represent a number of other large structures (especially in urban scenarios). I'm stumped at the moment because a/ I can't mod worth a damn and b/ I'm not quite certain exactly how such a building should look... greyish brown maybe... Anyway, if a modder of Juju's or Ed Kinney's calibre would turn their hand to it I'm sure something highly useful would come out of it. -Derfel
  2. Yeah! The idea of publishing something that would spite the reich chancellor gives me unheard of delight. I'll be patrolling Sir Real's site for a while and then I'll put out... so to speak... -JE [ July 05, 2003, 08:10 PM: Message edited by: Derfel ]
  3. Hey, good inspirational stuff for us scenario designers! Keep 'em coming I say! Another thing; what's the legal status of these maps? i.e would it be OK for me to put up a selection of them for download on my very excellent Web Page? (Shameless plug) -Derfel
  4. Let me just chime in here: DON'T LISTEN TO HIM! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING CAMO T-34!!! DO THE STUG III F!!! DO YOU HEAR ME?! DON'T mmmmgrphmp (sound of blunt instrument) Jokes aside, I personally would love Senor Noobie to extend his line of stunning T-34s to encompass all the T-34 variants in the game. The units in the pics above have exactly the kind of weathered omnious look I like. -Derfel P.S There is a camo T-34 85 on CoGs Cm Mod Database... at least I think that's where I saw it... 5. Nice going, Flesh! I DL-ed all three versions without any problems. Quick question, can these be used för the late Stug IV by renumbering the BMPs? The two versions look awfully similar to my untrained eye so I'm hoping to use one mod for the standard StuG IV and another one for the late version. Oh, and thanks a bunch for making the tac marks optional. Now, take a well earned rest before you start in on the Stug III F... We ModSluts Salute You! -Derfel
  6. WOW! They're all fabulous, talk about being spoilt for choice... Gimme... gimme... Are you sure you work in IT? You seem much too obliging and effective for that... -Derfel
  7. My 2 cents worth: Whereas I don't know if I agree that *many* scenarios are unfairly balanced there certainly are a few out there that might do with a bit of tweaking... that's why the "review" section of the scenario depot is so important. However, for my money the problem is that it is damned near impossible to construct a scenario that is playble both as 2 player and against the AI. As noted above the AI need a lot of points to give a human payer anything approaching a challenge... Personally I have resorted to producing three versions of any scenario I publish (or whatever the term is). 1. Axis against AI 2. Allied against AI 3. 2 Player All these are different, especially in the force mix and sometimes in the map as well. If I don't have the time to construct all three I try to be as clear as possible about my intentions with the scenario both in presentation and scenario briefing. -Derfel [ June 27, 2003, 10:05 AM: Message edited by: Derfel ]
  8. I humbly cast my vote in favor for a bi- or tri-colour scheme on the lines of your Stug III "Middle" rather than the "leopard" style camo of your latest offerings... just a personal preference, I know nothing of historical camo-schemes. As for base colour.. the one in the pic above seems excellent to me. And I do beseech thee... tactical markings, if included, as options! As alway, my greatest appriciation to you and all other modders spending precious time bringing joy to us modsluts... -Derfel [ June 27, 2003, 07:13 AM: Message edited by: Derfel ]
  9. Eeehaa! Stug IV Modded! Most excellent service! BTW I did try to wheather the Stug III but it came out looking like it had been dipped in s**t and then run backwards through a paintshop... back to the old drawing board I guess... -Derfel
  10. Oh... and while I'm at it... anybody feel up to doing the StuG III F...? I'm thinking of doing a weathered version of the Flesh/Mikey StuG III G series but since I have the artistic talents of a rather unusually untalented earwig I would be delighted if anybody else felt up to doing this. -Derfel [ June 25, 2003, 04:36 PM: Message edited by: Derfel ]
  11. 1. Excellent work as usual, Flesh and Mikey 2. What about the red-headed stepchild of the StuG family... the poor StuG IV is looking all lost and forlorn as the other guys showing off their new colours... -Derfel
  12. Somebody give that man a cigar... or possibly a sedative... Great work! -Derfel
  13. Thanks Mikey! Damn, the service here is faster than at the local pub... -Derfel
  14. Oh, YESSSSS! Precioussss! Could you (or some other, equally talented modder) PLEASE do this to the other "late" StuG IIIs (i.e the "schurzen" ones)?! ...and with the numbers as options... pretty please...? In fact I would wish there was a complete modpack both in camo and plain dunkelgelb with all the Stug types including the H42... of course I also wish I was younger, slimmer nd richer... -Derfel
  15. Hello? I say wot's going on 'ere then? See the door was open and I just happened to... ehrgh! What the hell is THAT?! oh... it's Hortlund... no, no don't get up... blimey... Anyway, as you were... which is a sodding horrible thing to wish on anybody... the Pudlian Ladies excepted of course... OK, carry on... nothing to see here... move along there...
  16. Well, shiver me timbers! I'm speachless... Look, Juju don't listen to any church-grogs or purists, give us MORE, MUCH MORE! Why not something similar för other tall heavy buildings or even a factory buildings makeover... damn, the possibilities are endless... Truly great stuff, -Derfel
  17. Really? I don't think I've seen any except standard green... but then again it's been awhile... -Derfel
  18. Now, there's a useful idea: THE COMBAT MISSION BEVERAGE CUP! Come on Mug-Modders, supply us with a design and maybe the Great Ones will take us up on it... -Derfel
  19. Hmmm interesting point. I'm sure some uber-grog will be along shortly with quotes from official policy documents as to why camo patterns were / are not used on modern AFVs. Meanwhile I have racked my brains (such as they are) and from personal experience I seem to recall that nowadays the vehicles that gets camo painted are non-afv. i.e. trucks, halftracks, recce jeeps etc. At least this is true of the Swedish army and I seem to recall Israeli camo'ed trucks in the Lebanon (but not the tanks)and british camo on vehicles in Cyprus. Perhaps it's just that with more advanced targetting technology it isn't worth the effort, if you're close enough to see the enemy AFV with your own eyes then either he or you are alreday dead... -Derfel
  20. Ahem... [shameless self-promotion] If you prefer smaller battles, why not check out The Byte Battler so far there's just a single CMBB byte battle there but lots of CMBO byte battles and more CMBB are a'coming.. (this weekend in fact)[/shamless-self-promotion] Regards, Derfel [ October 24, 2002, 05:42 AM: Message edited by: Derfel ]
  21. OK, OK I know I'm being a pain about this but; since the mods at Tom's site are unavailable (at least for some of us) can anyone tell me where else I can find some of the CMBO armour mods (especially the Graal tiger, Saturnin's Hotchkiss and Marcus Bloess' JpzIV)? -Derfel
  22. Thanks Pak, I thought I was going nuts... Tom; FIX OR DO SOMEFINK! -Derfel P.S BUMP! D.S
  23. Tom & Juju; Great Work! Love the new mod, BUT still can't DL any of the older mods (german and allied armour). Am I the only on with this problem? The message I get is: "FTP: Login to server failed"... what the... is going on, have I been blacklisted? Puh-lese, somebody tell me if you've managed to dl from Tom's site since he moved to MGO. I've tried from home and at work, but no joy. (No, I haven't used any dl accelerators or artificial means of any sort, all I've done is to click on the links in Internet explorer) Frustratedly yours, Derfel
