Why not Ruskie vs Ruskie, American vs American, German vs German? That would be really cool, if they made it possible down the road. But I dont think that it would take to much time to make a German vs German simulator or an American vs Russian based on the little programing knowledge I have.

What's wrong with making a realistic game AND including hypothetical aspects of a what if. Thats the great thing about it, there are OPTIONS, if you dont want to do it don't, if you wan't to do it go ahead. OPTIONS OPTIONS OPTIONS

Alternate keyboard control-config opt
ntg84 replied to ntg84's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I've heard of people doing really well at CS and Quake with E,S,D,F. But holding my hands on the directional keys for long periods of time just doesn't feel good. -
Alternate keyboard control-config opt
ntg84 replied to ntg84's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Yea, first person shooters is why I said that, I mean some people prefer arrow keys, but some like W,A,S,D. A choice would have been or WOULD be nice for an upcoming patch, or even in CM2 -
Why was control of the battlefield map not given to the keys W,A,S,D, or the option of chosing those keys to scroll around the map? Guess what I'm saying is why wasn't anything included in the game to change the keyboard configuration around (wait I said that allready), like most other games. Then anyone who wanted to have their hand somewhere else could, and those who like them on the directional arrows could also play. Just think its something that could have been included. Anything planned for this?

The first one, by Microprose is what you all are talking about right? That was an awesome game back in the day. I remember playing that one forever, I could never land at my base though so i bailed or crashed every time . If there is no multiplayer I would get it becasue there is always TFC and CS and FA out there that are great multiplayer, not to mention CM.

Should the withdraw command be... withdrawn?
ntg84 replied to coralsaw's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I agree with russel, maybe a retreat that is instant, or a pull back and find a new position command that wouldn't be as long as a move, but not instant. -
I think the comments about your vote doesn't matter and both candidates are losers on your webpage aren't very true. Sure they might not be the best choice, but they are running and keeping America's (questionable) democracy alive. And most peoples votes matter, and strong voter turn out is important. Rick Jason (Lt. Hanley) is dead
ntg84 replied to rwcanuck's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Oh my God that bad. I've seen every episode of Combat 3 times and Lt. Hanley was my favorite, with his no nonsense attitude. He just wrote a book too, but forgot the name. Maybe now the Action channel will bring back Combat. Just found out he took his own life too, Sunday night [This message has been edited by ntg84 (edited 10-17-2000).] -

Is this like that game....the one on my CD rack that I'm to lazy to find, the one where you controll the commandos. Um...Commandos, thats the ticket. The graphics and point of view look like it? Is the controlling of the 12 guys like that style?

If the sqaud leader dies, what happens? Does the squad's fighting ability go down when their leader dies? And can I assume that when the sqaud takes a cassulaty and the Thomson is gone, that the Sgt is dead?

The guys inside a closed tank didnt catch any rays, so in an open top vehicle you can still sunbathe and kill some enemies

Why don't they fire Tungsten

Now if an AP round just goes into a tank without exploding like a HEAT round does, could it go in one side and out the other and into another tank? Like a 90mm AP going in one side of a Hotchkiss and out the other? -

Finding/Buying/Building Tank Models
ntg84 replied to Basebal351's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Go for 1:35 scale. Start with a nice Tamiya kit, they are simple to build and look excellent when complete. They are sort of expensive but you get what you pay for. You can get a nice M4 for 30 dollars. Or a Tiger for 32 dollars -
Can someone tell me what happened to Combat on Encore's Action?
