  1. Guys, Several of you have reported difficulties in opening up the axis setup file. If this is the case then e-mail me, making sure to mention the scenario in question. I will send you a zipped copy which seems to work.
  2. Scenario #4 - Things go bump in the night - has been sent out. You will get the last one tonight.
  3. Forgot to mention last night that the third set of e-mails - 'South of Vevi' was sent out. By now everyone should have received 3 e-mails from me. If that is not the case let me know asap. Starting to get #4 ready
  4. SpineRipper's e-mail address is cgarcia12@charter.net
  5. Brent, you nearly gave me a heart attack when I read your post. I just checked my spreadsheet - you are the allied player in FF40. I didn't follow the procedure as it was written in the blurb. Instead, the axis is on the left - allied on the right. This will be the same arrangement I will use for the other e-mails, which btw I am organizing at this very moment. File #2 will be uploading in a bit. Panther Commander, I'll resend the file again. Since you are the allied player you will only get the overall and allied briefing. Your opponent will send you his setup. If he doesn't respond in a few days let me know.
  6. ROW IV has officially started, with the first e-mails going out a few minutes ago. If you do not receive an e-mail from me for 'Frontier Firefight '40' please let me know asap. You might want to give it a an hour or two just to be sure. I'm planning on sending out another this afternoon, and a third this evening. The remaining two will go out on Sunday. Good luck to all
  7. I just checked again to be sure. Feb '45, Brits, either infantry or Mechanized, vehicles (second unit on the list), availible as a single unit for 85 points regular or as a platoon of 6 for 420 pts.
  8. John, You should do fine with that rig. The 3meg whopper that Holien was describing will not be included in the first round. It will be a finals scenario, though, so prepare yourself. It is a wild ride.
  9. OK, I did some research, going back to ROW I and this is what I came up with: ROW I Scroll halfway down page 5 to Juha Ahoniemi's post. There the question of file security is first brought up. Note that Leland Tankersley describes a security flaw with the tourney save option. A couple of post farther down and we have Treeburst describing the method chosen, the same one that I used for the ROW III finals. Finally, check out Treeburst's second post on the next page. That pretty much eliminates the tourney saved option. Just to be sure I have e-mailed Treeburst. Hopefully he will respond soon. In the meantime I will do a couple of dry runs with the method described above to see how secure it is.
  10. No. Just provide a link to Holien when it is ready.
  11. You can send out saved games with the passwords already entered and still have both sides able to do their setup - this is standard practice in CMMC and I've done it many times. 1) Tournament save the scenario. 2) Start the scenario as if you were going to play it hotseat. 3) Enter first player password. 4) Hit 'Go'. 5) Enter second player password. 6) DO NOT hit 'Go'. Instead, hit 'Alt-S' and save the game. Send out this saved game file to the SECOND player. Now both players must use the passwords you've already enetered, and both still get to do setup. 12. I'm sure you are aware this can be enforced ? </font>
  13. 120 day deadline for the regular tourney. A couple of days or more to get all the scores in, verify, calculate, award bonus points for AARs, announce first round winners, launch finals, 60 day deadline for finals...... I say somewhere between June/August.
  14. Update time, so gather 'round... All that is left to do is prep the scenarios and begin sending out setup files. Given the large number of e-mails involved I may start the tourney early, perhaps even as early as tonight. This will lighten my load up considerably. Depending on which side you play you will receive one of two different e-mails for each first round scenario. If you are the axis player you will get the following: Setup file w/ axis password Overall briefing Axis briefing Name & e-mail address of your opponent If you are the allied player you will get the following: Allied password Overall briefing Allied Briefing Name & e-mail address of your opponent The German player will begin the match by opening up the scenario w/ his PW, setting up his forces, and sending the file to his opponent. From this point on the game progresses just like any normal pbem game. Its totally up to you and your opponent if you want to proceed via TCP/IP. However, keep in mind that we have a 120 day deadline, so if you burn through your games quickly you will be waiting a while afterwards. ***very important*** Please use the passwords that have been chosen. This will ensure that a replacement player can take over in the event you need to withdraw from the tourney. Also, remember that once the tourney begins we are in a EFOW lockdown, so no mention at all of any FOW sensitive material, either here or via e-mail. If you need to discuss something that may contain spoiler info you can e-mail me, Holien or Spanish Bombs directly.
  15. HMS Campbeltown after she had run aground in St. Nazaire. On the night of March 28, 1942 she was run aground just outside the gates of the 'Normandie locks', the only drydock along the Atlantic coast big enough to accomodate the Battleship Tirpitz. Deep inside her hull was 5 tons of high explosives in the form of 24 Mark VII depth charges, grouped togther in a steel tank then covered in concrete. A fuse with an 8 hour delay completed the package. The Campbeltown ran aground at approximately 1:34am. Judging by the picture it is already dawn, so the fuses should be going off any second now.
  16. I've seen numerous cases where a vehicle will fire outside of its arc and still retain the arc. In those cases the vehicle is trying to momentarily supress a unit on the flank, which is why the arc is not cancelled and no red targetting line appears. It this flank threat develops into something more serious then it will cancel the arc and a target line will appear.
  17. Is there anyone still waiting on a reply from a member of your section? Hopefully everyone either responded or has been accounted for. If not, now is the time to let us know.
  18. Hans, E-mail me at: sc112265@bellsouth.net I may have what you are looking for
  19. Was this during an Anti-guerrila operation?
  20. Out of the 72 players who made the cut, I count 30 who are newbies. Oh, and thats not counting the ones who will make it in as replacements, which BTW one already has. Seems to me the chances are pretty good.
  21. John, I think the config problem is at your end. Others have received it without a problem. I can resend it if you like, but it will be exactly the same as before. Michael, Sorry about that. I must have sent 40 e-mails today, so no wonder I forgot to include a subject in that one.
