1. Get well Dude! We await your healthy return. Physical healthy return that is, wanted to clarify that.
 2. You can also do a search on "resupply" or "ammo" . There are tons of threads with information on why it is this way.
 3. Send it this way also please. thomasj@39thsigbn.schinnen.army.mil
 4. Count me in! I can't wait for the TCP/IP add-on, but guess I will ahve to try.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Supertanker: Since I have small children, and often forget to remove the CM CD after late-night play, my disk is at great risk. Hence, as discussed in a previous thread, my original is safely stored out of harm's way, and I play with a copy I made.

That's what I'm talking about! Overall, if we can make a backup copy of the CD and use it while we store our precious, Hmmmm my preciiiiioussssss, *oops sorry, wiping drool* original CDs in a safe, secure location then I am far from ever griping about having a CD in the drive to play.
 6. I'm right there with you all. Pre-ordered in Late APR or early May, shippings errors on the 19th of June hit me along with others. Contacted BTS around the 28th/29th of June about not recieving it and they confirmed my fears and shipped my order on the 5th of July. Good deal right? Wrong, still nothing. Contacted BTS again to confirm shipment date and shipping address again today. My real patience killer is that I am recieving other packages I ordered from all over the place such as one that left Texas on the 11th of July and arrived today, and another that left Kansas on the 10th of July that arrived today also. I know they are working to fix the problems with the Shipping Department, and that two people alone can't do everything, but these issues with the Shipping Department leaves a lot to be desired eh? Oh well. Misery loves company and at least I am not alone. We band of brothers. "Together we stand! Devided we........Guys? Guys?? Now where the hell they run off to!?"

 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Kurtz: I put my backup CD in a zinc box, soldered it shut and sunk it in a picturesque lake in the Austrian Alps. (It's the traditional German way of keeping valuables safe.)

Ahhhhhhhhh That's what I was missing! KEWL. Thanks for the heads up!
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Carentan: I backed up my copy of my CM disc with my burner... works fine.

Thanks for the post Carentan, good to know we can make a backup and place our precious original in a jewel case that is locked in a lead box that is placed in a fire-proof safe you have in the bomb shelter in your back yard.
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Degrees of Frost: quoting thomasj here: Weren't experienced SS troops getting a little thin on the ground by late '44. Squads and vehicle crews were increasingly being made up of children - hardly veterans in any sense of the word. Sure all divisions may have seen combat but certainly not all the frontline troops !

That is exactly what I am talking about, the timeline we are in is the 1941 when the SS was at its strongest before attrition(SP?) and green recruits lowered their effectiveness. If we were talking about 1944, then I would agree that most of the SS were green, non combat veterans. Over all though we are talking about why does the SS troops cost more if they run like little girly men. [This message has been edited by thomasj (edited 07-16-2000).]
 11.
quote:
{SNIP} Fanatical yes, wasteful attack-style yes, but battle-hardened veterans they were not. {SNIP}

Again, I do not have my pre-order copies yet to see this myslef and what the cost differances are, but why would the SS units cost more if they were not Veterans? I may be incorrect and am prepared to be educated, but most of the SS in the early stages of the war *During and Right after Operation Over Lord* were indeed veterans of one conflict/operation/invasion etc, or another. Which is the timeline we are to be playing in yes? In the BIG picture of the German Divisions only a small percentage had not seen combat by 1941. My argument would go the other way as well if it were concerning Veteran AMIS forces around the late 1942 to 1945 timeline as well. I do however wholeheartedly agree that BTSs input on these happeings is most welcome. "A name alone doth not make a man, a real man makes a name for himself!"
 12. Also, any of your see a Siberian Husky running around with Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich or ASL playing pieces in its mouth please email me for they are my game pieces. Thanks!
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by chrisl: When I was a youngster we had to do it all with carboard chits on hex maps. A single turn could take 5 hours. And if you had pets they'd come and adjust the positions during the night for you. And we had to walk 10 miles through ice and snow to get to school, and it was uphill both ways...

OMG!!!!!!!!! Lost my soda through my nose *God that hurts!* when I saw your post man. It instantly made me think of my gaming days and my pa'pa's tails of his younger years! LOL! Some of you should post warnings at the top of your post! Caution.....Reading the following could short your life if you are currently drinking!
 14. I only put this to the top for I really hate not being able to make backup copy of my favorite games/apps and putting the original away until the backup gets damaged. BEFORE ANY SMARK A$$/FLAME comments come my way I bought two copies of the game so there. Backups should be everyones right, for accidents do happen. Besides, if the CD's are serialed then pirated copies can be traced back to the purchaser and backups should not be a concern towards piracy.
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Germanboy: OGSF - just play the Allies and you are going to love it. I know I did when Berli's HT crews jumped out of their HTs as soon as infantry came close to them.

I would agree with you, except this game is supposed to be as realistic as possible and the German SS wern't the sissies that I am hearing about here. Don't have the full game yet*SIGH!*, but I hope this is just a one time happening and not the norm, and if it is, then it should be looked into for most of the SS were battle hardened veterans.
 16. The part about being the Netherlands is really a mute point for I am supported my the USPS though an APO (Amry Post Office), and normal prioriy mail gets to me from the states in 5 days. APO mail does not have to clear customs and flies direct out of the NY APO to the APO in Frankfurt, Germany where it hits truck to me here in Maastricht. I have recieved stuff in 3 days before but 5 days is the norm and 7 days is the extreme. Just wanted to see if I was the only pre-order still waiting before I emailed Steve & Charles again to see what was up. I only wanted to email them after I had an idea of how many pre-orders were still pending. Thanks for the speedy replies all!
 17. Hey everyone. I am starting to get really concerned that I have not yet recieved my pre-order. Is it just me or are there still others that pre-ordered and have not recieved their CM? I know that I was one of the few that was affected by the shipping incident on the 19th of June, but was shipped out again on the 5th of July. Other pre-orders, if your out there, please respond for misery loves company
 18. I have experience overclocking. What card you got and what type of cooling is on it?

 20.
quote:
Originally posted by SS_PanzerLeader: I have to say watching the full game all at once IS WAY down on the list of priorities for me - TCP IP is the most important, Im hardly playing right now compared to waht I was because of the lack of TCP IP. Ive got other things keeping me busy but am looking forward to this so I can start playing htis game more seriously

AMEN! Movie will be nice, but TCP/IP is a must!
 21. I must be a difference in Service Branch terms Bruce. I know for sure the Army term is Shell scrap *also known as a hasty fighting position*, the slit trench *also known as improved fighting position*, and then the ever so popular with the troops, two man fighting position with or without overhead cover. I do not however know/remember the terms used by the other Service Branches.
 22.
quote:
Originally posted by TargetDrone: Well.... actually it IS already released... and most people got their orders already (guess im the only one who won't get it... )

TD, Still waiting on my preorder also man. Hang in there. Want to get into a PBEM game when it arrives? Since we both will be new to the full game maps.
